I had three pieces of original art framed with him, he quoted me $200 each, never wrote anything up and never asked for a deposit which at the time I thought was a little odd, but didn't think anything of it. Well, now I know to trust my instincts! When I went to pick it up he said he had to spend "a lot of extra time" on it and the price was now $250 per item. What!!?!? After some swear words and a lot of trouble I had no choice but to pay him - I'm still at a loss for words. If anyone can help me please message me on Yelp. The quality of the artistry and the materials used is of the highest level: from the illustrations of our ceremony and reception venues, to the personalized map of NYC, to the custom crest Tricia and team designed for us, every piece of the invitation suite, programs, and other paper goods used throughout our wedding felt personal and elegant, which is exactly the tone we were hoping to strike. Beyond the high quality products, Tricia was a true pleasure to work with throughout our wedding planning process. 1440's artwork and design elements are wonderful, although at points in the process attention to detail and proofreading could have been improved, especially at the price point. Overall, we are extremely happy with the beautiful work that Tricia and her team did for our wedding.

Tricia created customized invitations for us as well as ceremony programs, menus, escort cards, table numbers and even matchbook favors, custom tote bags for our bridal party and welcome gift bag cards. Most importantly, they reflected the individual styles of both myself and my husband, too. Tricia and her team are tremendously talented and professional - not a detail was overlooked, and she was incredibly responsive, patient and flexible throughout the entire process. Our suite of printed pieces was one of our favorite parts of our wedding. We could not recommend her more!

There are very few galleries successfully dedicated to exclusively presenting photography…read more Yancey Richardson is a leading exhibitor, representing the best photographers and works that the art community has to offer. The gallery is centrally located on the ground floor in Chelsea. Natural light and unimpeded wall space provide ideal viewing of photographs ranging from small photobooth prints to monumental museum-sized pieces. Respect for the medium is immediately apparent. The stable of represented artists is lengthy but includes Mickalene Thomas and Julius Shulman. Recent gallery-based exhibitions and presentations at Untitled and the Armory include recognizable mainstay artists like Larry Sultan, Sharon Core and Ori Gersht; Rachel Perry and Hellen van Meene, too many talents to list. Jared Bark has been shown in the gallery after many years of exposure limited to only collectors in the know, prompting a re-examination by curators and art historians. Focused exhibiting of artists newer to the scene, but no less important, like Zanele Muholi, document socially important concepts of race, gender and sexuality in her native South Africa. The namesake, Yancey Richardson, loves what she does and her genuine passion is immediately apparent. She is easily engaged in a conversation about the artists, art works, the process and the medium. Similarly, Director, Sarah, is equally happy to provide information and quick to provide insight and information.
