I'm used to Best Western hotel chain in the US being more of a low end to mid range chain. In Malmo, that is not the case. This hotel is very new. The lobby is spacious and very inviting when you first enter. The staff is super nice and friendly. They have wonderful recommendations and can you a taxi super fast.
The rooms are small when compared to US sizes but what it lacks in space, it more than makes up for in quality and arrangement. First thing you notice is that you have to put in your key to turn on the power in the room. I wish US hotels would implement this energy saving feature. I love the sheets in the bed. Very soft and comfortable to sleep under. The bench, chair, and desk are well placed to make optimal use of the room. There are plenty of outlets everywhere.
The bathroom is brightly lite and also well designed for such a small space. It was perfect for me but for someone much taller, they do need to watch their knees when using the toilet since it will be under the pedestal sink. The best part about this hotel by far is the amazing water pressure. If you like a good shower, this is the place for you.
The breakfast buffet is pretty good. Lots of options with a mix of standard American options plus Swedish foods. I would recommend going upstairs to that buffet area. The bottom can be super crowded with guests from the tour buses. Most stay downstairs. The upstairs actually has a few more options like a waffle maker and has a large dining area that was mostly empty.
I will definitely stay here again when visiting the area. It is just a couple blocks from the train station and the Emporium. Lots of dining options nearby or it is very easy to get to the city center using the train. read more
