Though it is now a Best Western, Braid Hills Hotel remains one of Edinburgh better known traditional hotels. I have never technically stayed there, but I have visited many times when my parents have as well as attending a wedding and another function.
Braid Hills offers panoramic views right across the City of Edinburgh, to the Pentlands, the Firth of Forth and the Fife hills beyond. But this comes at no expense to its convenience. It's not at all far from town and is well serviced by buses. The hotel staff can also order you a taxi which will take you about ten minutes to the dead centre of town.

The hotel has a pretty decent restaurant too, which offers special Sunday lunches at £16.50 for three courses. There is a large function room which can be hired serperately too.
Braid Hills also offers special holidays, namely golfing holidays, given the area's fame for the sport. These deals can be viewed online or if you phone up. read more
