This is March of 2026 as of today this business have not returned my watches that was in for repair. When I stopped in to pick them up, they couldn't find them. The lady behind the counter said she didn't know why she couldn't find them. Then she found one them. I told her I'll pick that one up she said I couldn't. I asked why and she couldn't give me a definitive answer. She said she would check with the owner and get back with me. I never heard from her. They are stealing valuable time pieces from people. Reporting to BBB doesn't do anything. They will not let me pay for my watches. Don't let these guys repair anything of value. They're a business of thieves. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANYONE DO BUSINESS WITH THIS CLOWN. 2 months ago I dropped off a Seiko diver for some repair work to which I supplied original Seiko parts to complete. I was quoted $180.00 and 2-3 weeks. They were polite, seemingly professional. So I mistakenly gave them a second piece because in my initial conversation I was told reluming was a common service they provided and it just seemed simple enough. Here we are almost 9 weeks later. I have weekly thread of texts with broken promises of not only updates but completion of either watch. I had to go out and purchase another watch as the Seiko was going to be a gift for a friend since they could not complete the work in even DOUBLE the quoted time. As of this week, the doors are locked and every time I'm stopped by there is one or even two people trying to retrieve their possessions. No response to emails, calls/VM or text. I've filed a report at the BBB and just left the Fairlawn Police Department where reports against Josh for exactly this are so common that they new the address and his FULL name off the top of their head. I'm out about $1400.00 as of now. I'm assuming I'll never get my watches back or if I do there will be irroereversable damage to them from their incompetence. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

They will either not repair your item correctly (that is if you even get it back), you will be insulted and likely met with profanity if you ask where your item is - Joshua Neal is never even in the business, there is no timely replies. Check out their BBB - solid F. In some cases the police have had to be called on him. I can't believe they are still in business. The business hours are incorrect they are never there and will not answer or return your calls if you leave a message. On August 24, 2023 I brought in 3 watches for service: A Seiko for sizing, a Relic for a new battery and a B Swiss for replacement of the battery Best Time had installed that only worked for a couple weeks. In addition with the B Swiss, it was no longer possible to adjust the time and the crown came off! The Seiko was returned to me a couple weeks later, but it is now January 4, 2024 and after repeated attempts to reclaim my two other watches, the owner Josh today told me that I "HAVE TO BE PATIENT!" and to "GO SOMEWHERE ELSE NEXT TIME"! (Oh, I will - don't you worry) When I demanded that he just return my watches, he kept repeating "I'm working to get you the information you need!" I contacted the Fairlawn Police and it turns out they are well aware of Josh's horrible business practices due to numerous complaints and appeals for assistance. But their hands are tied because it is a private, civil matter. Of course, Josh and his wife know this. The police told me to expect to receive a big bill, whether or not my watches are repaired. These people are extremely rude, unprofessional, infuriating and a curse on honest consumers. What can we do? Picket???!!! read more

I highly suggest that no one does business with the company. I am a lucky one I just got my clocks back, but I see many others have never received their watches or clocks back. Josh picked up the clocks at my house on 1/6/25. On 2/4 I received a phone message advising clocks were done and to call to set up a time for him to bring them to me. I paid my invoice on 2/5, which was $1451 for the repair of two antique clocks and the works on a grandmother clock. I thought the invoice was ridiculously high. I called and emailed numerous times between 2/5 and 2/20, never to get a response, just a voice mail about them being sick. I made a police report for theft. The Fairlawn Police told me they have had numerous complaints about the business. It was 2/22 when I received a call from the service about setting up a time for Josh to come and I told them, no, I would come and get them myself on 2/24, which I did. I took 3 Movado watches to get new batteries and to be cleaned on 2/14. I was in no rush but I just believed they would be done within a reasonable time frame. This was my first experience with Josh and this set of employees. Here's the timeline: 2/29, they let me know that 2 out of the 3 were finished and was waiting on a battery for the 3rd. 3/22 stopped in to retrieve the 2 fixed watches and the tech didn't know if my watches were there. Angelie let me know that I needed to arrange pick up so they could have them ready. 4/16. Get my 2 ready watches. They couldn't find my third watch. The guy called me to tell me they found it and that the battery was there 5/13 I requested my watch be done by the end of that week. Chris responded 5/14 Chris responds and says that they would try and meet the deadline but no guarantees because they were still waiting on the battery. I shared with him that I had already been told the battery was there. 5/15 Chris responds and says that Josh would be putting my watch back together that evening and that he would contact me the next day when its ready. 5/17 Chris texts and says Josh is still working on it and would finish that afternoon. 5/31 I texted and say I haven't received an update and request just to get my watch back. Chris responds that they can't get the back of my watch on correctly and had to order a part to fix it and would expedite the repair. 6/12 I go to the shop and get my watch and the pic will show you how it was returned to me. I immediately take it to Jared for repair. 7/18 Jared notifies me that the person who tried to change the battery pushed on the back in the wrong place and warped the case. Because of that, the case cannot close nor pressure seal. There is also possible damage on the dial from the repair attempt. They gave me my watch in pieces in a plastic cassette tape holder and a baby ziploc bag. My favorite watch gifted to me and they ruined it. To get my watch fixed will cost $3555.00 I have alerted Best Time of this and am awaiting to hear how they plan to rectify this debacle! read more

The horologist and front desk employees might not deliberately be trying to rip people off, but it does feel to customers like we're getting ripped off. My experience was similar to the other 1-star reviews for this shop on Yelp and on Google. I brought in an inherited non-running watch for what I thought would be a free estimate of what it would cost to fix it, and a general value of the watch. The front desk person told me they weren't very busy that week so it shouldn't take long. About a week later they texted me to see if I had the original purchase paperwork, to which I responded that I didn't. Two more weeks passed without a word from them. I decided to go pick up the watch (which I assumed hadn't been touched). When I arrived the front desk person had a look on her face like, "Oops, I was supposed to call her!" She pulled my watch out of the drawer in front of her and told me the info the horologist had sent to her phone. The watch still wasn't running but apparently it had run for a short time after they replaced the battery. Then she handed me the bill: $30 for valuing the watch and $30 for a battery, plus tax. I was polite but said, "Oh, I thought it would be a free estimate." After all, an unexpected $64 bill is not a welcome surprise for a single working mom. The front desk person's tone changed. I decided not to escalate any conflict and paid the bill. It would have been completely different if she had told me when I first dropped off the watch that getting the value of the watch would cost $30. Then I could have made an informed decision. I have no idea if $30 is a reasonable price for the battery; maybe it is. But I didn't give my approval for replacing the battery. And I'm not saying that the valuation service isn't worth $30. I'm just saying that I feel taken advantage of. A little open, honest communication would have gone a long way. Other reviews have said they waited months before hearing back from Best Time and their bills were much higher than mine, so I'm grateful I only lost $64 and waited 3 weeks. Also for what it's worth, the roof leaks and my skin had a mold reaction when I was in the building. Maybe some of the odd behavior customers have witnessed here is due to the employees being poisoned by mold toxins (brain fog, emotional volatility, etc.). Just a thought. read more

I took my watch in for a repair of the crown not being able to turn the hands of the watch. The first time I went to reset the watch after the repair to reflect the time change the hands would not move when I pulled out the crown and when I pushed it back the watch wouldn't run. I took it back to the store to repair it under warranty and they refused. The owner wasn't there and I requested that he call me. As other reviewers have stated he didn't call me back, kept the money I paid, and didn't fix the watch. This isn't a reputable business, so if you need a watch repair go somewhere else. I asked Best Time Watch repair to fix my ships clock. 5 weeks later it was not ready to be picked up. When I did pick it up, the hands were on wrong so the clock did not chime properly. I had them clean and lubricate two grandfather clocks, with a promise of 2-3 weeks. After 4 weeks, they were still not ready, so we went to pick them up. They were belligerent about the whole transaction, and I had to replace the movements in the cases myself since they would not even consider finishing the work. One of the movements has a broken gear so it does not properly chime the hour. Of course, they charged me over $1000 and no guarantee! Anyone who wants to do business needs to reconsider. They were hostile, threatened to call the police because I wanted my property back and totally unprofessional. A total RIP-OFF! read more

Do not have this company repair your watch. I took my watch into their office because there was some moisture in it and it needed dried out. The watch was working just fine prior to their repairs. 6 months later and taking it back to them 3 different times, it still does not work properly. BEWARE! Almost 2 months later after having been assured that my timepiece would be done (battery replacement / band replacement), "within a couple of weeks", " in just a few more days", and "soon" - a constant excuse. I received an email stating that my timepiece is not functioning, and was suggested by Josh that they could continue troubleshooting the timepiece so that he could give me an accurate price for repairs OR I could pick up my timepiece and take it somewhere else. I decided to pick-up my item and during pick-up, Lindsay indicates that I owed a fee for the "use" of their batteries! I explained my dissatisfaction with their business ethics and in no way was I obligated to make any payment, as no repairs were made. Lindsay became very angry and confrontational, she began yelling obscenities (f***ing b***h). As I walked out the door with my timepiece, she followed continuing with obscenities, spit at my car and punched it with her fist. Apparently I'm not the first customer this has happened to, there is a similar review on the BBB website. Terrible business ethics. Owners extort money from customers. They had my watch (Seiko) for 5 months or so, told me thy could fix it. Called them twice to check on progress and never got a return call. Went to pick up the watch and they didn't fix it but charged me $70. Took it to Kimberly and they fixed it within a week for $48. I don't recommend them. read more

Beware! I would give zero stars if this was an option. Took a small wall clock to be repaired. They had me write my name and contact info on a blank piece of notebook paper, that should have been my first clue. Was told they would look at it in about a week and give me a call. After 2 months I finally called them and had to leave several messages that were never returned. When I finally did reach them they recommended a cleaning that started out at $300 but could be as much as $700. Pretty sure the clock didn't cost that new and I highly doubted that a cleaning would be what it needed to bring it magically back to life. Told them no thanks and I'd pick it up that weekend. When I got to the store on Saturday morning they were closed even though their website and hours posted on the store stated that they were open. I decided I wanted to take my new timepiece to somewhere besides the usual mall jewelry kiosk that I've visited in the past for similar services. After briefly searching Google, I discovered Best Time Watch Repair. Their location is convenient on W. Market across the street from Whole Foods 365. Joshua was friendly, professional and easy to talk to. He removed the links from my watch, sizing it perfectly on the first try. Joshua and I discussed mechanical watches, proper watch maintenance and even the challenges of operating a small business. I'm happy to have found this company and looking forward to the opportunity to doing business with them again. read more

This is the most unethical, unprofessional business I have ever encountered. Dropped a gold diamond bracelet off in mid June. Never heard from them so I decided to pick it up last week. They had done no work to the bracelet; in fact she pulled it out right from a drawer behind the front counter. She charged me the full repair price of $64. All that needed done was a pin replacement. Her and her husband became so belligerent that I called the police of Fairlawn. They said they have many complaints against this business. They are crooks!! I have video of the owner and his wife being belligerent and screaming profanities at me. All because I disagreed with them charging for no work being completed. BEWARE! This company has an F rating with Better Business Bureau. I had to get Fairlawn Police involved in order to get my property back. They said they'd had many complaints about this company. I dropped my watch off in February. That day, they diagnosed the problem (incorrectly I later found out) and gave me an estimate, to which I agreed. I never heard from them again and they did not post repair status on their portal, as promised. When I was able to reach someone in the shop, I was repeatedly told that the part had not come in yet. After nine weeks of this, I went to get my watch back and they wouldn't give it back until I had paid them the full amount for the repair - which had never been done. They said this was their "business model". The owner gave me my watch back in pieces and told me I "didn't deserve" to get it back the way I had turned it in. I ended up taking it around the corner to Kimberly Jewelers (a legitimate and professional company) and they completed the repair in three days. Do not do business with these people. read more

I had a clock fixed by Josh a couple of years ago before he moved to his new store by Summit Mall - he did a nice job. I recently had another clock that needed repaired so I tried to call Best Time Clock Repair. There was no answer so I left a voice mail. I received an auto-reply text that I would be contacted as soon as possible. I never received a response so a few days later I sent an email. Again I received the auto-reply text. On 1/15/2020 I decided to drive to the store and drop off my mantle clock for repair. Lindsay was at the store and I explained my concern that I had not received any response from my attempts to contact them. Lindsay probably apologized at least 10 times. I decided to leave the clock. She said they would contact me by phone or text in about 1 week with an estimate of what it would cost to repair the clock. I never heard from her so on 1/28/2020, nearly 2 weeks after I dropped off the clock, I sent a text asking for an update. I received the auto-reply text that they would answer calls/texts as soon as possible. After no response, on 2/6/2020 I called the store, but there was no answer so I left a voice mail. I followed the call with an email with an overview of when I dropped off the clock, my attempts to contact them and asked for an update. I again received the text auto-reply. On Sunday, 2/9/2020, after no response, I drove to the store to pick up my clock. Lindsay was in the store and I expressed my dissatisfaction at how they do (or don't do) business. She again apologized multiple times, but nothing changed at how they would handle the problem. She said they are really busy and can't always return calls, texts or emails. She said "we do the best we can" and how they do business "doesn't work for everyone"! I can deal with them taking their time to assess and fix the clock, but it's hard to believe that they can continue to do business without communicating with their customers. read more
