Great place and food. They do a lot for the community and are always trying new ideas. Trivia night is a blast too.

Breakfast is complimentary with choices of making your own waffle, fruit, cereal, scrambled eggs, port sausage, juice, and more. Coffee and tea is available 24 hours a day and when we arrived on Saturday afternoon, there was fresh popped popcorn in the lobby. The breakfast was not to my liking but it's a great option to save money and with the various items available, you can find something you like. I had the waffle, scrambled eggs and pork sausage and the eggs tasted like powdered eggs which they likely were and I don't eat a lot of pork but prefer pork bacon versus pork sausage. The taste of bacon is better for me. I had a room on the second floor, room 204 to be exact. TIP: Avoid this room if you want to open the shades and see outside. This room looks directly at the front entrance overhang so you get to see the roof of the entrance and a little of the driveway. Just terrible. This is approximately 21 minute drive from Blue Mountain Skin Resort.

They're doing construction at the hotel and i was woken up at 530 AM by a hotel worker walking into the room and telling me that we were supposed to be moved the night before. (What if i were naked and getting dressed?) So after moving rooms and trying to go back to bed i get woken up by an air chisel 2 rooms over constantly going off and am told at the front desk that they cant switch me to another room. I wish I could post a video so you could hear this mess. Oh and the super loud fire alarm went off for 5 mins straight at like 630am

We booked a room on a…read morewhim- literally as we were driving across the state of PA after a holiday weekend- and it ended up being an amazing place to stop, have dinner & explore the next morning. The great: We almost booked through a third party website because it looked like it was $20 cheaper but we ended up reviewing the discount tab on the Inn at Jim Thorpe website and noticed a 15% discount if we booked over the phone. Booking over the phone saved us about $50. The staff was kind, professional and helpful over the phone and in person. They even gave us fresh baked cookies when we checked in. The inn is an old, crickety building and the rooms are small but clean. There's a stairwell and small elevator once you're inside the building. I don't know if there was a handicap entrance into the building. The parking lot was easy to find but it is quite narrow, which should be expected in an old building/old town. Ice and a filtered water fountain is located in the basement and they have a vending machine too if you're looking for a late night snack or sweet treat. The not so great: One thing did feel misleading. The staff said the restaurant attached to it ( Broadway something or other) is the only place that serves breakfast & they require reservations. The Inn even provides a $10 off per person coupon for the restaurant but we found a few options for Nitro cold brew, coffee, tea and baked goods right down the block. Personally, this felt like sales tactic to make us think breakfast would be scarce. Maybe that's the case during peak tourism season but it didn't seem to be the case when we were in town. Overall we'd definitely stay here again. Between the trails, the cool architecture and the good food, we found Jim Thorpe to be a fun place to explore.

Live entertainment both nights (fri & sat) with some good specialty drinks. The bartender Tyler was AWESOME. He made our night more fun than we expected. Upstairs bar was good enough, but Tyler downstairs was the best. Other bartenders had little to no personality. The one even seemed annoyed we were ordering drinks? Strange. Both nights we ate dinner at the restaurant, Broadway Grill on the main level. First night was good... second night was a complete 180. Breakfast was good both mornings we ate there. You do need reservations for breakfast which was easy to do online. Plus a $10 off per person each day at breakfast for staying at the Inn. The second night they ran out of the most basic side - rice. still put mushrooms in a pasta dish that was repeatedly asked not to be put in there. A side of fries that were supposed to come out with a meal was supposed to be delivered soon after.... But another persons meal was sent back (awful taste to the chicken parm) and fries were given in place of the meal. Still no fries for the other person. Dry salmon but the sauce saved it. Mashed potatoes cold. The manager was very understanding & i appreciated her kindness. The waitresses were all very nice too. Overall - I'd still go back during another season as we were here in winter & not much was open. I'd stay here again and just plan for dinner elsewhere.

The murder mystery itself was the highlight, the storyline was engaging, and the actors were clearly well-trained in improv and very kind. Murder Mystery: 8/10 The room was fairly standard, what you'd expect in an old-timey house. No TV or modern extras, but there were plenty of charging outlets, which was appreciated. Room: 7/10 The food during the stay was incredibly disappointing. Most of it felt like reheated microwave meals. Breakfast included eggs, bacon (very thin, broken pieces), cubed potatoes that were oddly watery, ham slices, stale danishes, cereal cups, and a parfait option that had run out by our 9am time slot. Dinner was similar in quality. I chose the cheese ravioli, but despite being second in line, it was cold. The same watery potatoes from breakfast were served again, along with green beans. The only highlight was the coffee, which was good. Food: 2/10 Unfortunately, the parking situation is very poor. There are only 5-6 spots directly outside and a few more up the hill behind the carriage house. I was dropped off at check-in and informed staff that my boyfriend would be arriving late. I was assured there would be parking available and that staff would be present 24/7 to assist him. However, I woke up to a call from him saying he couldn't find parking. I went downstairs to get help, but no staff could be found. Not wanting to disturb other guests, I eventually gave up, and he had to park on the street in the neighborhood on top of the hill overnight. At breakfast, we were briefly told about additional parking behind the carriage house, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issue from the night before, nor any attempt to make it right. Parking: 1/10 The staff overall seemed inexperienced and, at times, unprofessional. While I empathize with younger staff members, there were several uncomfortable moments--such as hearing an employee joke about "killing" another staff member over a small mistake, and staff walking away mid-conversation while we were trying to ask follow-up questions. Staff: 4/10 Overall, there were some enjoyable elements, especially the murder mystery, but the experience didn't quite match the price point. With a few key improvements, this could be a much more worthwhile stay.

Just in time for Halloween!…read more Perched atop Packer Hill in the village of Jim Thorpe, this place was used as the model for the Haunted Mansion at Disney, whose interior is anything but spooky. After our tour at Asa Packer, he later built his son Harry a mansion next door as a wedding present in 1874. The mansion's impressive facade could have been taken from a Gothic novel, so much so that the building's design caught the eye of Disney Imagineers where my partner, his aunt, and I came to take some photos last Saturday. The Harry Packer Mansion Inn is open for lodging, tours on weekends, drinks at Libations Lounge, and, of course, murder mystery. Fifteen-foot ceilings, marble fireplaces, and gilded mirrors reflect the elegance of the Victorian Age. If you are in the area, it's a photo op.
