Buyer and Customer Beware!…read more Recently I noticed my app was not working to arm and disarm my alarm. After calling Rampart, they said "yes currently our services are offline". Then I asked if that meant we would not be covered by monitoring for fire or burglary. They said "yes, that's correct". I was completely flabbergasted. Three large issues for me: - They never notified their clients the monitoring service was offline. My first issue was at 9PM the night before I called. When I called Rampart around 9AM the next day, the guy on the phone said: "Oh yeah it's down, but it hasn't been down that long". To which I replied "yes it has, my home has been unprotected for 12+ hours". - After researching the app communications, I quickly was able to determine the IP address involved was from BOLIVIA. The IP was registered to "Bulgaria Sofiya Residence Control" - Why on planet Earth would I want my home secured through a server in Bolivia which is now down? That IP address was 212.73.143.204. - The monthly service fee they charge is much higher than the service we received. The monitoring service was the cheapest available, likely turning $20-25/mo in profit for adding absolutely zero value. They use a third-party service called "m2mservices" which is hosted on a server in Bolivia. https://m2mservices.com/ The device is the cheapest available and the service, being outside of the US, is most likely also the cheapest possible. After calling back, they had zero problems refunding our entire charge.. which is too bad... we were a customer for over eight years without a miss in payment. Stay away, the company doesn't care if your home is protected, or at least not enough to tell you about it.

Very deceptive business practices. We are in our fifth year of a (very long) 5 year contract and…read morethe remote alarm app just "happens" to no longer work. So the suggestion was that we pay money to upgrade the app (because their 5 year contract does not cover 5 years of operability) OR...we can sign another contract NOW and get the upgrade for free. This will lock us in another 5 years with the company that couldn't provide satisfactory service on the existing contract. This is not the company you want as your home security partner. Interesting the first review dated 12/16/2019 here on Yelp from of "Samuel N." who worked (works?) there as a Sales Engineer should know, it's not the same company Samuel. They lost integrity along the way. Some business success is at the expense of their customers. Oh... and the average monitoring service prices in the area is around $30.00. Not over $50.00. You too will be looking for a takeover company by the end of this contract. Save yourself the headache.

He always kept me up to date with the progress and discussed any road blocks he came across, always gave me options for alternative solutions, gave me honest recommendations, and made sure I was 100% satisfied with his work.
