Just worked with Chris. He was extremely professional and friendly. Even my dog who doesn't always like new people warmed up to him! I would HIGHLY recommend! Also the price was right as well! Did the job far cheaper than all others that I got quotes from and he was even able to make open and make us new keys for out storage cabinets in our garage. Cannot recommended enough! read more

This company came to my home and changed locks without being authorized. I was told it was a mistake! Very UNPROFESSIONAL!

I needed some replacement keys and fob for my car and other keys. They made great duplicate keys and programmed my fob for far less than the dealer would have wanted for the same job. Johnson County Key Service gives out great advise on how to handle a project like this to by-pass the gouging that a car dealership would do for the same thing. read more

I liked the knowledgeable and fast service when I stopped in to have a new mailbox key made from the original key's code (instead of having a copy made). A code key ($5.99) is more expensive than a copy, but more accurate, and perfect if your key is broken. They offered an extensive number of key blanks, the equipment to get the job done, and a basic seating area. It was expert service at a reasonable cost - excellent! read more

They were horribly rude both times I contacted them. Had an appointment for Wednesday a.m., they cancelled that day at 3:00 p.m. Do not recommend!! I am being harassed and stalked by an ex boyfriend and needed my locks changed. I'd waited a week for this appointment, spending my nights at a friends out of fear. I had even explained this to them previously, How cruel can you be!!!! read more

Super impressed with this company. Accidentally closed a door that I know never to close because it latches in a weird way and I can't get it open. Tried a few ways over several minutes and then decided life is too short to be this frustrated, so I called this company. This was at about 9:30am and they said they'd be out by noon. At about 10:15 they called to say they'd be here by 11:00, and they actually got here about 10:45. So nice! It only took them a few minutes and for $59 it was well worth it. They also told me exactly what kind of lock to get on the door so this won't happen again. Loved their professional, quick, helpful service. Recommend them highly. read more

Quick and easy. I used JoCo Key service twice. Once when I was moving out of my house and needed a front door key (all lost because we had been using the garage door opener). And then again to re key the new house and in stall a coded door knob. They were quick, efficient, gave some great suggestions on how to set things up and the price was very reasonable. read more

BEWARE to potential customers, this business left us with an INOPERABLE vehicle today. My husband drove his vehicle here today to get a backup key fob programmed, just in case. The lovely "serviceman" made it just far enough into the process that he unprogrammed THE ONLY WORKING key fob (this vehicle can only start through the fob, not a physical key). This lovely man tells my husband it must be the fob port on the dashboard and of he'd like to go source one and buy it and have it installed...then he can try to program the fobs. How my husband was supposed to go get parts for his car without use of his car is beyond my comprehension I suppose. I then show up to pick up my husband and asked to speak to the owner, what a funny coincidence it just to happens to be the man I'm already speaking with. And he lets me know that it "isn't [his] problem." The result: we paid to have the vehicle towed to a dealership where we'll also have to pay to have their mistake fixed. To me seeing as my husband drove there with a functioning vehicle and key fob and their serviceman handed back a non functioning key fob which left the vehicle inoperable it should be his problem. But I guess that's the choice he got to make. I wish we'd have made a different choice in who we trusted our vehicle with and I hope you do too. read more

Johnson County Key Service - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Overland Park, Kansas

I needed a copy of my motorcycle key. They were efficient and affordable. Surprisingly not many places make key copies for motorcycle keys.

Total hoax. The guy tried to sell me all new locks when I only needed to re-key. He then got mad and stormed out when I refused to buy all new locks. Ugh! read more

Nope. I can't rate them any better than a 2. There is a guy taking emergency calls during the weekend but he won't schedule service on the weekday. I understand that you don't have a receptionist during the weeken but get a cheap answering service (that's what we use) and get someone to take a message. I hate it when you're talking to a representative of the company and they can't/won't do the simplest task TO GET THEM MORE BUSINESS read more

I was very impressed with Johnson County Key Service! We hired them to replace a couple of locks and rekey the rest in our house and they did an excellent job. They were able to provide recommendations for the most efficient and best way to do things, and then provided quality work in a short time frame. I would definitely recommend them! read more

I hired this crew to install new doorknobs and deadbolts in May 2017. Everything worked great ... until we had epic rainfall later that summer, which caused the house to shift just enough to make one of the doorknobs fail to latch. Fast-forward to the arctic winter ... now the deadbolt wouldn't lock. I called to schedule a service appointment. The tech arrived on time, fixed both locks in about 10 minutes, and only charged me for a service call. He didn't try to scam me into buying new locks and knobs, or spend a bunch of time moving and reinstalling the locks. I literally trust these guys with the keys to my house! read more

I cannot rave enough about my experience with Johnson county key. I had just gotten scammed by MC locksmith and Johnson county key came to my rescue. They unlocked my door and switched out my locks for a very reasonable price. The locksmith was so kind. I wish I had just called them in the first place. If you need a locksmith, they are the guys to call. Wouldn't call anyone else after my great experience. read more

I needed a couple of blank car keys cut (which I had already purchased from somewhere else). Excellent and quick service, reasonably priced and the keys work perfectly! Thank you! read more

Amazing customer service on a Sunday! He was hurrying over to our house (we were locked outside with three kiddos!) when we finally got the door unlocked on our own. When we called to tell him, even though he was en route to our house, he didn't charge us for the service, even we offered to pay him. Not too many businesses are so kind and full of integrity these days, and this company now has our loyalty for any future services. Thank you! read more

They did a great job! Professional, reasonably priced, the man came out and took care of all my car's broken key issues within a few hours of calling. Will recommend them and use them in the future. read more

I called JCK and they had a guy there in 15 Minutes! He unlocked the car in just a few minutes and I was on my way. Great Service at a Great Price! Thanks read more

Johnson County Key Service was able to re-key three locks in my home and install a deadbolt lock on the back door of the home. I recently moved in to the new home and I wanted to make it more secure. The locksmith, Jim, worked accurately to do a good job. I liked the way he was able to reduce the number of keys that I need to have on my key ring by having the same key work in multiple locks. The only downside was that I had to vacuum the floor where the sawdust fell when he cut the door to install the deadbolt. read more

Decided to try this place and had two house keys made. Unfortunately, the old man at the counter cut the wrong key although I handled him the house key. Called the shop when I got home and discovered the error. Was told to come in and have the correct keys made. Went in today, told the old man what had happened and again handed him the house key. When he was finished told me it would be four dollars and something. When I told him I had called and was instructed to return to have the correct key copied, he told me he cut the correct key. I had placed the miss-cut keys on the counter and he said they were no good to him. I replied they were no good for me and why should I pay for his mistake. He stated he did not make mistakes and in an angry voice told me to leave his shop and not come back. No worries, do not want to do business with a person who refuses to admit he made a mistake and certainly not going to pay for his mistake(s). Regardless, he has the wrong temperament to be dealing with the public and is anything but a professional. Would not recommend this place to anyone especially to anyone that would be fearful of a dog that looked like he was ready to jump over the counter. Will just go to Overland Lock & Key as I have for years. read more

This place was amazing. After paying enormous fees at a local dealership for them to cut a Chevy truck key that didn't work, yet still made me pay, I went to Johnson locksmith. I told the gentleman my story and a description of the problem and he cut me a "trial" key that worked no problem. When I tried to pay for the key he cut he said not to worry about it I had been through enough that day. He sure did make my day, and I will get all of my keys cut there from this point forward. read more

I am delighted with Johnson County Key Service!!! They came to my house today and rekeyed all locks so that one key works all locks. I have tried this several times and inevitably some of the keys do not work in all the locks. The keys they made for me work as intended and they were on time and nice about the service. WOW, great job!!!! read more

I reviewed this company a while back. I called them again when I needed to replace all the locks in my house. We had lost a key to the house and it had our name on it. So, we wanted new locks put in quickly. I called in the morning around 7:30 and the owner came around 11. He was great. Everything was very easy and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Johnson Co.
