I needed some replacement keys and fob for my car and other keys. They made great duplicate keys and programmed my fob for far less than the dealer would have wanted for the same job. I liked the knowledgeable and fast service when I stopped in to have a new mailbox key made from the original key's code (instead of having a copy made). A code key ($5.99) is more expensive than a copy, but more accurate, and perfect if your key is broken. Super impressed with this company. Accidentally closed a door that I know never to close because it latches in a weird way and I can't get it open. Tried a few ways over several minutes and then decided life is too short to be this frustrated, so I called this company. This was at about 9:30am and they said they'd be out by noon. At about 10:15 they called to say they'd be here by 11:00, and they actually got here about 10:45. So nice! It only took them a few minutes and for $59 it was well worth it. Quick and easy. I used JoCo Key service twice. Once when I was moving out of my house and needed a front door key (all lost because we had been using the garage door opener). BEWARE to potential customers, this business left us with an INOPERABLE vehicle today. My husband drove his vehicle here today to get a backup key fob programmed, just in case. The lovely "serviceman" made it just far enough into the process that he unprogrammed THE ONLY WORKING key fob (this vehicle can only start through the fob, not a physical key). This lovely man tells my husband it must be the fob port on the dashboard and of he'd like to go source one and buy it and have it installed...then he can try to program the fobs. How my husband was supposed to go get parts for his car without use of his car is beyond my comprehension I suppose. I then show up to pick up my husband and asked to speak to the owner, what a funny coincidence it just to happens to be the man I'm already speaking with. And he lets me know that it "isn't [his] problem." The result: we paid to have the vehicle towed to a dealership where we'll also have to pay to have their mistake fixed. To me seeing as my husband drove there with a functioning vehicle and key fob and their serviceman handed back a non functioning key fob which left the vehicle inoperable it should be his problem. But I guess that's the choice he got to make. I wish we'd have made a different choice in who we trusted our vehicle with and I hope you do too. read more

I understand that you don't have a receptionist during the weeken but get a cheap answering service (that's what we use) and get someone to take a message. I hired this crew to install new doorknobs and deadbolts in May 2017. Everything worked great ... until we had epic rainfall later that summer, which caused the house to shift just enough to make one of the doorknobs fail to latch. Fast-forward to the arctic winter ... now the deadbolt wouldn't lock. I called to schedule a service appointment. The tech arrived on time, fixed both locks in about 10 minutes, and only charged me for a service call. He didn't try to scam me into buying new locks and knobs, or spend a bunch of time moving and reinstalling the locks. I literally trust these guys with the keys to my house! read more

Decided to try this place and had two house keys made. Unfortunately, the old man at the counter cut the wrong key although I handled him the house key. Called the shop when I got home and discovered the error. Was told to come in and have the correct keys made. Went in today, told the old man what had happened and again handed him the house key. When he was finished told me it would be four dollars and something. When I told him I had called and was instructed to return to have the correct key copied, he told me he cut the correct key. I had placed the miss-cut keys on the counter and he said they were no good to him. I replied they were no good for me and why should I pay for his mistake. He stated he did not make mistakes and in an angry voice told me to leave his shop and not come back. No worries, do not want to do business with a person who refuses to admit he made a mistake and certainly not going to pay for his mistake(s). Regardless, he has the wrong temperament to be dealing with the public and is anything but a professional. Would not recommend this place to anyone especially to anyone that would be fearful of a dog that looked like he was ready to jump over the counter. Johnson County Key Service was able to re-key three locks in my home and install a deadbolt lock on the back door of the home. I recently moved in to the new home and I wanted to make it more secure. The locksmith, Jim, worked accurately to do a good job. I liked the way he was able to reduce the number of keys that I need to have on my key ring by having the same key work in multiple locks. The only downside was that I had to vacuum the floor where the sawdust fell when he cut the door to install the deadbolt. read more
