Upon calling a to z, you'll be met with a disrespectful, unprofessional, dried out old man-- don't waste your time or money trying to schedule an appointment with this old pr*ck. Set up an appointment a week ago to try and get into our dead mothers storage units, to which he gave a ridiculous TWO HOUR WINDOW that he would be there some time between 10 am and noon, and that he would call us when he arrived. Wasted over two hours waiting on this d*ck head to arrive this morning, sitting in the car with a screaming 3 month old baby. Finally called to check if he was almost there yet, and he claimed he had "no appointments set up for this morning". Upon calling back, he hung up on us multiple times lol. If you were considering A-Z locksmith, I would highly recommend you reconsider if you value your time! Thanks for reading and once again, if you, a family or friend are in need of a locksmith, keep on searching because this is not the one.

Unable to open a 10x14 SENTRY Fire-Safe Security Chest I drove to Mid-America Locksmiths for help…read more A well dressed and profession gentleman by the name of Steve listened to my dilemma and began to assist. Using his knowledge and skill, he had the Security Chest open in approximately 10-15 minutes. I asked what was my cost and his response - NO CHARGE. What a wonderful surprise. My impression of the business - clean, well organized, a variety of quality products and ample parking outdoors. I now have a locksmith that I can trust and know that I will be given 100% workmanship.

The only caveat to this review is the owner was friendly and genuinely tried to take care of me…read more I made an appointment, DROVE MYSELF to their location ON TIME and wanted to make a copy of a car key that had a transponder in it. Easy. I already had the key cut, had 2 OEM keys to use, but I was having problems programming the key myself so I THOUGHT a locksmith would be able to handle it no problem. Same model #, same transponder signal, but after 15 minutes in my car, he came out and was unable to program the key. I thought, "man that sucks, I guess I'll take it to the dealership but was hoping to use the locksmith because he was less expensive." THEN, he says "That'll be $25 for trying"... I can totally understand being charged if I had someone come out to my location and through some type of unforeseen problem, was unable to perform his job. But I was genuinely surprised when he said that. I looked him in the eye and said "25 dollars for trying?" "Yep." I, passive aggressively take out $25 and slap it on the counter. "Oh, after taxes, it's actually $27.xx." I am fuming inside but rather than deal with an argument, I'd rather leave this review to steer others to a more reputable company. I ended up at the dealership and 20 minutes later, I have a functioning key. There was no TRY charge. There was a DONE charge. And I can guarantee that had they not been able to program the key, they wouldn't have charged me a "try" charge. Imagine going to a restaurant and ordering your food and your waiter comes back to the table and says "the cook tried to make your food but wasn't able to so that will only be $25 for trying." UNREAL.

This guy absolutely saved us the other day. Went out to the car on a Sunday afternoon and we could…read morenot get the key to turn the ignition. Even worse, we tried pushing the car to move it and the wheel got locked in a terrible spot. We spent hours on the phone with AAA (they wouldn't tow it to a safer location unless we took it to a dealer/shop). All shops were closed so we couldn't call anyone to see if they'd take the car. We talked to numerous locksmiths who advertised 24 hour services, yet wouldn't come out that day. I don't blame someone for not wanting to work on a Sunday afternoon, but calling yourself a 24 hour locksmith is a bit disingenuous, eh? Not only that, but two other shops quoted twice what this guy quoted us, and still wouldn't come out that day. Sent in a message via yelp to PMJ locksmith and got a response within a minute (literally). Called them up and was told he would be out after his current job, gave me a fair estimate. True to his word he called me after his current job and was on his way. Fixed the car in absolute darkness with nothing more than a small flashlight to see. Stuck to his quote and fixed the car right up. Not only did he call when he said he'd call and show up when he said he would, he was very friendly on top of it. We gave him a 25% tip and I still think he deserved more than that. Can't recommend him enough.

I don't live in Kansas City, I actually live in Los Angeles, however I needed to copy a Wink Haus key (which is rare in the US but common I think in Europe). In any case, I found Heart of America Locksmith through Yelp and Randy had posted a picture of a key blank that was similar to what I was looking for. I called and I asked if he could make a copy based on a photo which he said he wouldn't (in retrospect, copying a key from a photo is probably illegal now that I think about it). However, he did offer to look at the pictures of my key and see if he had a blank that matched which he could send to me. After I sent him photos of my key however, he determined that the blanks he had were similar but not the same and sent me a picture of what he had. He then gave me a suggestion for which blank I might be looking for though.
