Our septic had backed up and overflowed and after handling all the damage control we needed someone to come and pump. Now, a little background here. I have experience working with contractors and handymen on 2 continents, and I have been fighting the Yelp battle for good service for over a year now, whilst I tried to get my house ready to sell. Also, keep in mind that this was the last week of the year, and most businesses were shutdown for the holidays. That being said, and this is going to sound funny, but it was the people who pumped my septic who gave me the best customer service I've ever received. No joke. Andrea (who handles the appointments over the phone) was warm, personable, and SO very considerate. She said they were pretty well booked, but when I explained my emergency, she somehow managed to fit me in just before the weekend! She kept me updated every step of the way. When Austin (hope I got his name right) arrived, he was the ideal of what everyone who hires a contractor hopes arrives at their home. He was on time, courteous, professional, friendly. He dug up the holes without any complaint. (Which wasn't easy, as I was his fourth customer of the day, and there were roots like you wouldn't believe.) And he chatted with me like we were old friends while he took extra time to rinse out the effluent tank. They really are just a small family, business, I found out, who own the truck and decided to go into this line of work after their own septic 'refunded' on them. TLDR: All in all, DFW Septic did everything right, and I only wish they were in a different line of work, so I could call upon their services more often!

What initially created the need for the call was a gas fireplace that would not ignite I had previously tried ChatGPT, called a chimney sweep company, and even called the previous owner of my house, all to no avail. Within a few minutes of of arriving, Jordan was able to locate the hidden shut off for the gas fireplace and get it working pretty promptly. While here, he was able to notice a couple of other things that needed attention. My tankless water heater had been installed incorrectly by the previous plumber, and the technicians from Hukill's were able to manage that. And also, when it came to a clogged sink in our master bathroom, they were able to address that as well. By the end of our time together I had heard some good stories from Jordan, I was able to practice my French with Joseph and most importantly had a lot of small annoyances cleared up (literally) leaving my home in better functioning order than when they arrived. All the personnel were polite, professional, responsive & reliable. Shout-out to plumber Jaron, who always had a smile, as he was helpful in selecting the right fixture & patient in answering all my questions. Amos, the tile guy, always went above & beyond. He texted me daily as he was on his way, cleaned up every day better than my house had started-out & was precise & meticulous with the tear-down & marble installation. Amos was conscientious about his craftsmanship & strove for perfection. Being in my home for 38 years, I knew precisely what I wanted & Hukill's delivered it exactly as desired.
