I tried Best Mulch because my neighbor recently had an excellent experience with them. In addition, their prices are less than our previous supplier. Nicole was very pleasant on the phone, and Ronie skillfully dumped 10 yards of mulch on a driveway tarp. I oddly feel slightly disappointed NOT having a negative experience similar to a couple other reviews. I'm goofy in that way. Regardless, I recommend them and will order fire wood from them. I can not comment on the product quality because I never placed an order. I will comment on the totally unprofessional and unhinged behavior of the person/people answering the phone. I called on 4/30/20 at 4:49pm to inquire about having 2 yards of soil delivered on 5/2. I spoke with a man (no identification) who told me that he would take my number and call me back tomorrow. I gave him my name and number and hung up the phone. I received a call this morning (5/1/20) at 6:52 am from a female as a follow up. She quoted me 112-116$ for two yards of soil. I asked about what time I can expect the soil to be delivered on 5/2. She told me that it could be any time between 7-1pm. She then started to explain in detail how they process the deliveries at their site, which was ok but too much information. I then asked specifically what type of soil I was being quoted, at which point she told me that she could not tell me because I never told her what it was being used for. I said some was for a flower bed and some would be used for my lawn. She stated that the quote was for screened topsoil because that was the best for my application. At this point I was concerned with the vague nature of her responses and stated that I would have to call her back to schedule the delivery as I thought the price was a bit high and wanted to explore other options. All of sudden a male voice came onto the phone unidentified and started yelling at me about how I don't know what I'm talking about and that I should call "Mr. Mulch", because they'll be sure to get it to me "by Thursday". I attempted to slow this guy down and he then stated "Aren't you the guy who called me after 5 yesterday?" I told him I called just before 5, he told me I was lying. He then asked me what I do for a living. I said "I guess you don't want my business." He told me that he did not need my business, that he had more business than he knows what to do with, and hung up the phone. I am dumbfounded at this behavior. I can't help but assume that the call at 6:52am was punitive for some kind of perceived slight of calling his business after 5pm, even though I clearly did not. It is not acceptable to call a private residence at that time without prior discussion. This person isn't right in the head, and a search of other online reviews bears out a pattern of this type of behavior. This business should be avoided at all costs. I can only imagine what type of response a customer would receive if there was a problem with their delivery. I am thankful that I never got to that point. I honestly cannot believe how the owner and girl just treated us on the phone. I thought we were getting punk'd. When the price was a little higher than we thought we said we were gonna call a few other places. We started to get yelled at by the owner who took the phone from the girl. Also they called us at 6:50am! He told us we are wasting his time and to go to Mr Mulch. Then started yelling at us for calling after 5pm yesterday which we didn't. There were lots of words exchanged and we are still standing here wondering what the hell just happened?!? read more

The owner is a rude and nasty horrible person. He argues with everyone and refuses to accept responsibility for his company's shortcomings and mistakes. He yells and is extremely belligerent on the phone with customers. He has a bad reputation in our community. It's no surprise whatsoever that he argues on the reviews from other people. You can read on Google reviews and right here on Yelp and others of his terrible service, and all he does is argue back. That's why he only has 2 stars here on Yelp. No surprise! Don't give this horrible place your business. There are so many better other mulch companies out there! read more

I called today and spoke to a very nice girl who gave me a quote. I called back to get a delivery estimate and Mike the owner got on the phone and proceeded to yell at the girl for not getting mileage (12 miles). The price for delivery magically went up ten dollars and I said it was not worth it when I can get mulch closer for less. The owner Mike then proceeded to tell me he would just take the money out of the girls pay because thats the only way they will learn. Absolutely ridiculous! Not how you should treat your employees and not how you should run a business. Lost a customer for good. Many Mulch places all with the same prices choose one that isn't run by someone who treats his employees so poorly. read more

My husband ordered 5 yards of mulch from Best Mulch. He has mulched our property for the last 25 years and knows exactly how much he needs for our property. He also has been a Landscape Foreman for the last 35 years so also did it for a living. This was the first time we used Best Mulch and we came up short. He called to question how much was delivered and also wanted to purchase 3 more yards but the owner got on the phone and was belligerent and wanted to come to our house to prove my husband wrong after telling him not to come the owner showed at our house anyway with a tape measure. He was asked to leave multiple times and refused and was very hostile. The situation escalated to the point where I had to call 911 and have the police come. The receipt states Customer satisfaction is our priority and contact them if here is an issue. I have never heard of a business owner showing up at a customers house to prove the customer wrong. Needless to say we will never do business with Best Mulch again. read more
