On 7/14/25 I placed online order for a ZURN 46246-1/PN400-7B-STR Flat Round Drain Grate, 6 11/16" OD, ZN. The Website specifically stated in the PROUCT description that Nickel-Bronze (ZN) Screws were included "With Screws" at the purchase price of $99.99. When the Drain Grate arrived with NO SCREWS I phoned Best Materials and they would not assist me until I sent them a photo of what arrived. Once I sent photo showing ZURN Drain Grate w/ No Screws, they contacted ZURN to request screws. It took several back-and-forth Emails to get Best Materials to request ZURN to ship the 3 Nickel-Bronze (ZN) screws to me. Once the shipment arrived, ZURN had shipped me 3 STAINLESS STEEL screws....instead of matching Nickel-Bronze (ZN) screws. I took a photo and sent to Best Materials to show them how the Stainless Steel screws STUCK OUT LIKE A SORE THUMB (silver colored screws looked horrible against Bronze colored Grate). Best Materials contacted ZURN and Emailed me back stating that ZURN only has and provide stainless steel screws for the drain I ordered. I suggested that Best Materials FIND, ORDER & SHIP me the correct Nickel-Bronze (ZN) screws as per their Website PRODUCT description, which was ignored. I found the Nickel-Bronze (ZN) screws with an easy online search from an Online Fastener Company....WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT A REPUTABLE ONLINE BUSINESS SHOULD HAVE DONE. After 17 back and forth Emails....I STILL never received the Nickel-Bronze Screws DETAILED on Best Materials Webpage. Had it one day unopened and returned to get the right product. 30% restocking fee which cost me over $300. Very odd place. I did Will Call. They have the wrong address for Will Call and their actual address isn't anywhere on their web site that I could find. Lucky for me Google knows where they are. There's no procedure on how Will Call works. They just say "call us" but of course no answers so you leave a message, which they don't really listen to. A day later they did return my call which I guess is reasonable. That's when they check to see if they actually have the item I ordered online. I assume when you order and pay online that's more a wish list thing. Yelp says they've been around since 1994 and maybe their web site was state of the art in 1994. Maybe the Will Call address was correct in 1994. Unfortunately my time machine is in the shop. They use some kind of paper based order system so ya stand around while they thumb through a stack of orders. So it's pretty cool feeling like you're back in a 1994 Fry's Electronics store. Hey, but they did have the items I order so that's pretty cool. One of the items was 100 screws which they handed me with everything else. Like a moron I assumed the plastic bag was taped or stapled shut. What was I thinking? Nope, wide open. So 100 screws all over the place. Gee, not even a "Hey, watch this bag it's wide open." Nope. Kind of wonder if they have a good laugh when doing that. Maybe in 1994 staplers and tape didn't exist? They were all very nice which makes it hard to criticize. Not only did the materials I received not work for what the intended purpose was, as enough information was not given, but at the time I attempted to return an item i was informed I had to re-pay for shipping. So not only did I lose their restockign fee but then I had to pay for the shipping and return shipping. This is just terrible! Go somewhere else and try another company, they didn't even care. I ordered two kinds of parts from "Best" Materials for a repair. Half of them didn't fit because they were cut incorrectly, but making a return turned out to be incredibly difficult and time consuming. This company not only has no stated means of return on their website, they stonewalled, made unreasonable demands and outright lied about how to make a return. Ultimately, I simply returned the items and disputed the charge on my credit card. What did "Best" Materials do? They gave me a partial credit, deducting what I assume is a restocking fee. I was already out the $ it cost to return the stuff. Don't do business with these shysters. The "customer ratings" on their site must have been created by a bot because they sure don't reflect what it's really like to work with them. First, google said there was a security breech, then it took me to a code page and I clicked back; thought I would give it another try (After I changed my google password) then it done the same thing. So I clicked out; then I see in my email where my PayPal was charged twice. No email from Best Material, so I called them. Rude sales guy, (Should be working in warehouse) no help at all. So now I am going to have to go to PayPal and figure out how to stop my over five thousand dollars from going to some thief. This one star is for leaving me in the dark on my order; anything can happen on the web, I understand that; but just saying pretty much oh well... is only a one star company to me. These people are the worst. I needed Pylex stair stringers for a time-critical project. When I called, the salesperson told me they had plenty in stock (over 80) and that if I placed the order they would arrive in 3-4 days. They lied, took me over the coals on shipping cost, and botched the order. Instead of supplying the items from stock, they had the manufacturer in Canada ship them to me by ground, despite that they charged me $90 for a 25 lb shipment that was purportedly from AZ to California. Their customer service was intransigent. Calling after 5 days they referred me to UPS tracking. They reaffirmed that they had more than enough units in stock, but decided to order 3 lots of 10 pairs from Canada. They would not change the order. They refused to discuss the shipping cost. I would not purchase anything from these deceptive and careless people again. Their customer support is a mockery. read more

I can't even give this company one star....me and my husband ordered epdm roofing from this company and glue. 3 weeks later we received the glue but the roofing was not even on the truck as it was suppose to be. Then had to get on the phone for hours tracking down my materials and was finally able to get confirmation that they would send my materials...3 weeks after initial delivery that only had our glue we got our material but once inspected found that it had been damaged. So once again we had to track people and materials down just to sort this mess out. The people at best materials were not very helpful and less than sympathetic to our problem we were having after ordering through their companies website. After receiving/sending back the damaged materials that we had waited a month and half for we received the correct shipment about amonth later. We know no one gets something for nothing but after going through all of this and spending $1800 the company offered 50 dollars in compensation which was more insulting than just getting nothing. So please if you are interested in buying from them just don't, they don't care about customer satisfaction or getting orders to people in a timely manner. In March 2020 I purchased a 2 pack of roofing tarps. These came with a 2 year warranty and I thought that would be good for at least a year. Well, long story short, 7 months the 2 tarps are disintegrating and simply falling apart. Now, I live in the Desert South West and the temp gets up to 117f on bad days. The tarps are supposedly "UV protection" and if you "don't tie them down appropriately the warranty is voided." Well, I know the winds here and the temperature gets to the extreme, so I nailed the tarps every 8 inches instead of tying them every 18 inches. EVERY seam split, even where there was no seam, the entire tarps (yes, both of them) simply disintegrated. I wrote to Best Materials a week ago and have heard nothing back. The next day I got an email confirmation that they had over 100 available. I've ordered from them several times now, all has been good. They have the best price I could find for Chemlink LEED certified caulking and adhesives. Even with the shipping amounts included. They were very fast to ship each time. When ordering, I also really like that I can choose the ship method - UPS or USPS (or freight if it was a huge order). That's so helpful to me, as I live in a rural region and can have shipping issues. This place is run by idiots. I ordered 7 peices of an item an only recieved 6. I paid for 2 day a.m. delivery and did not get it until the late afternoon. I even caught the mistake on the order conformation email and called them and was told it would be fixed. It nearly cost me a job with one of my customers. I ordered a 2 things for my roof. It turned out I did not need them. The shipping to the east coast back and forth was a lot and then the charge a restocking fee of over $30.00. Make sure whatever you order does not need to be returned other wise its a rip off. read more

Buyer beware. Their sales online are extremely confusing. When a mistake is made if they except the return they want you to foot the bill to return it then they charge anywhere from 15 to 35% restock fee. Shipping AND handling charged and return shipping is consumers responsibility. Also, a restock fee on top of all. Mine restock was waived after I requested. Still cost me same to ship as item.
