I just move here to Springfield and was looking for a gym, i join planet fitness but is not what im looking for but i still got the membership just in case I travel. But Best Fitness the ppl at the front desk are so nice and very helpful. The gym it self is very BIG and what i like the most is that it have a lot of machines 2 or 3 of the same one so you never have to wait for a machine ( well mostly never) and is not over crowded is just perfect. The machines are a bit out dated but they do the work. After all i was thinking of looking at another gym just to look but naaaa i will stay here, here is were is at! read more

I am a long time member who has kept my membership current during Covid. I have been running outside and doing at home workouts but with the snowy weather decided to venture back into the gym today. Huge mistake. Given the mask mandate you would think people would be gently reminding members to mask up so we keep everyone safe and don't risk closing gyms again. Instead staff and guests were all unmasked laughing and mingling in the middle of the gym. Such an awful example of running a business during these times. read more

I had been a member for at least ten years. I now had to cancel my membership. Going in person to the facility, I was told "The guy who handles this is working out, com back in an hour." Not going to do that. I now get calls from them about my account. I called the TWO numbers given to me to do this.They were both the same recording asking me the same question over and over. I called the facility twice, once they gave me the second no. And the second time they put me on hold to speak to membership. No one ever picked up. VEEY SHADY BUSINESS so thinking this is a good gym, I sign a two year contract, but once my contract is up, instead of giving me a email or phone call They end up taking a $50 yearly fee out with no warning Then I find out they were taking $25 a month adter my contract ended and put me on a month to month without letting me know and did not get my consent for it. I went in and i tell the person at the front desk and he tells me "to my knowledge you have to come in and cancel your membership in person".which makes no sense because I already told him my contract is up and I'm not a member any more. No one ever told Me about this at the beginning of my contract and said That it was only a two year contract and would be ended as soon as it was done and I can sign another one when it's up and if I wanted to come back. I never did that and now they have taken about $200 from me. I had to go in in person again and cancel a contract I have never made or agreed upon. i looked over a lot of reviews and have seen that this has happened so many times over and over through the years. so I think the BBB will be getting a call seeing how it Looks like they have scammed People over and over. read more

Whatever you do, do not sign up for personal training at this gym. You will not get what you pay for, and they make it extremely difficult to get out of the contract. I started a 6 month contract in July. I was promised a workout plan within the first two weeks. It was almost two months before I was finally given a plan. Because they had broken the contract, I tried to get out of program. They refused. I ended up paying for all 6 months even though I used less than 2. Now they will not let me end my membership, because of a freeze on my account. I tried to end the freeze and they say I have to come in and have a discussion with the head trainer. The staff is untrained and corporate makes it impossible for them to give good service. read more

Best gym in town. I never have any billing issues and I have been a member since 2008. They have a lot of group exercises and the instructors are very friendly ; engaging and great at their craft- Zumba/ yoga/ Pilates etc... This is like my second home to me to de- stress and have a good workout . The place is spacious with a lot of equipments and they maintain to keep it clean and well- sanitized. O.K. facilities. Shady, shady business. I highly do not recommend for visitors of Springfield looking to start a temporary membership. The good: plentiful equipment. Lots of free weights (benches, squat racks, etc.), a whole section dedicated to treadmills. Cross fit area. The bad: the salespeople, aka "membership division representatives", here are the reason sales as a profession has a sketchy reputation. Man, long story short, Scott had me excited at this $20/month-with-no-cancellation-fee-if-you-are-a-college-student deal, but he ended up charging me for 2 extra months, no questions asked, because I didn't send a physical copy of proof of residence via. snail mail (like what...snail mail??) 30 days in advance. Messy management & not a single sales rep understands the company's cancellation policies - I had 4 people give me 4 different answers. The icing on top of this mess - they hire a separate no-name "ABC Financial Group" to take care of their membership cancelations/registrations that has its own separate rulebook, claiming to have no affiliation with BestFitness. I spent hours and hours throughout the summer trying to understand these policies. *MIGRAINE* I'd be enthralled to go back in time to make the decision to eat pizza at Planet Fitness instead. read more

Do not join this gym. Lack of compassion from upper management. I went in to freeze my account for the month of December, and I was told by the associate that I was already on freeze for that month. I even asked him to double check because I was certain I was only frozen until November. He assured me that I was. Of course they still took out my 40$ for that month. I spoke to management several times and they will not refund me for their mistake. I've taken them to the BBB for this and for another issue as well and they still will not refund me on this issue. Would give 0 stars if I could. This has to be the worst gym ever with terrible customer service. When closed because of covid they weren't charging me. Month ago I receive a phone call I owe the gym 800 dollars from a debt collector. This gym didn't bother to call/email me there is an issue . I was furious asking how could I possibly owe that much when my membership was almost over. I've tried to call to get answers as to why I am being charged this much but nobody can give me an answer. Well,I signed up with a friend worked out maybe a handful of times with said friend and a handful of times solo. It's been years since I've step foot in this place. From what I remember the equipment wasn't all that great or clean, but will say the protein shakes were great. They lock you into contracts, with most likely huge cancellation fees. At some point my card expired and never renewed it with them because I already lost motivation to go, short while later they hit me with a $700 cancellation with their ABC collection office. I admit it was my fault for not renewing my card but 700 pretty outrageous. read more

The "best" gym around and it's roughly $20/month. There are tons of free weights. There are also many machines: Hammer Strength, Life Fitness, etc. They put in a big TRX station a year or two ago. Trainers are helpful if you ask about one thing - I don't know the cost to hire them, though I do see quite a few people with a trainer. If you know what you're doing, this place is a great deal with so much equipment. There are quite a few Life Fitness treadmills, though I far prefer other brands of treadmills. There are recumbent bikes and elliptical machines (not Precor). There's no pool nor racquetball space, which helps keep the costs down. There are daily classes that are free. I don't use them, but women have told me the current class leaders are good. Separate locker rooms with showers for men and women. There is a child care area, though I'm not familiar with it or if there's a charge with it. There are a few tanning stalls. If your immunity is low, you may want to skip this gym - despite large wall signs, no one ever wipes off their machines or weights. Based on all the guys I see go directly from the stalls and urinals right out to the gym floor without washing their hands, I'd say this gym was MRSA/fecal central. Like most gyms, it's most crowded starting around 5, after work. The staff seems pleasant - at least none of them have Tasered me yet. Make sure there's money in your checking account for the monthly fee and the annual charge - if not, the out-of-state administrator will keep hitting your account everyday, racking up a bank fee each time for insufficient funds. There have been many car break-ins in the lot in the past, so I'd suggest leaving anything of value at home. On 1/19/2015, I read on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) site that this location has their worst rating, an "F." "BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints concerning billing and contract issues. Specifically, complainants allege after cancelling their membership, they continue to be billed. Some consumers allege their accounts were sent to collections. On August 21, 2014, BBB sent certified correspondence to the company requesting their voluntary cooperation in eliminating the pattern of customer complaint on file with BBB. As of September 11, 2014, the business has not responded. BBB will update this alert if a business response is received." read more

The facilities is crappy and there's always something going on there (part of the ceiling falling, construction, etc.) The billing is terrible and shady. I can hardly give best fitness one star after being a victim of their billing practices. I was a member For 5 years, plus and often in a trainer Program that was between $143-216 per month. When I reSigned from club because of move to Cape Cod, they continued to debit credit card after one month's notice. Two managers have admitted this but 4 months later I have to get CC card company involved because they do no answer my emails or calls and you cannot get a home office number to reconcile the problem. I finally got my charge $216.66. However my husband cancelled the same day and still waiting for his $142.00. Really bad business practice. when you quit. Call you bank right away!!!! read more

I had suspended my membership when they reopened due to concerns about COVID. I returned today and was extremely disappointed with the lack of enforcement of safety precautions. More people not wearing masks then wearing them. I have been a member for 15 years and will be canceling this week. My advice to management. Decent enough gym. If your looking for instruction you will have to pay for personal training. The free personal training session they give you when you sign up for a contract is a joke, less the 20 minutes. But the fitness Director Alice is very knowledgeable, and willing to answer quick questions if you have any. If you're looking to just hit the machines with no pressure to hurry up and move on, this is the place. Gets packed after 5pm and wish they had later hours on the weekends. read more

This is by far the worst experience I've had with a gym. They have great facilities but the business side of the gym is secretive, shady, and unacceptable. The membership plans are terrible. They are not up front and honest at the time of signup. I was told it was a 1 year commitment turns out it's 2. There's no way of canceling without paying a $100 fee even during a pandemic. I decided to freeze my membership because I don't feel comfortable being inside the gym right now and I've been charged the $40 a month TWICE NOW. I was told I'd be refunded and that still hasn't happened. I've moved around a lot so I've been a member of many gyms and this is the worst experience I've ever had. Best Fitness is the one gym that I have had no trouble going to. The atmosphere is great, everyone working there is super friendly, supportive, motivating and helpful. The members there are also some of the friendliest people I've come across. Jon Bukolsky is a trainer there and has made a huge impact on my life. He is the one person who has pushed me past what I thought my abilities are and made me realize what I'm capable of; he's also managed to keep me motivated on my path to weight loss, which no one has been able to do up until this point. The facility is clean and they recently had a grand reopening which is great! The staff is always friendly, pleasant and the coaches push you beyond your limit. My only con is they sucker you into a 2 yr contract. Luckily for me i signed up when they had a special so I'm paying 1/2 the normal price. I'd say go visit and use the 14 day free trial and see for yourself. They have a ton of different classes so it's easy to find a class that fits your work routine. read more

Was blown away by the scale and variety of equipment at this gym. Clean equipment and locker rooms, phenomenal staff, nice patrons. Wanna train CrossFit? They've got a whole section for you. Wanna lift? Plenty of squat racks. Cardio? You've got a whole area all to yourself. Tons of nautilus machines, plus an unrivaled free weight and kettlebell selection. I was in training session with 6 months agreement and suddenly unexpected things happened and I lost my job and etc. first my spouse went there for cancellation and they said it was okay they didn't mention cancellation fee to my spouse ! And we saw our bank statement they still take money from us we went there to whine because they are not professionally acting right! They said we have to pay a cancellation fee total training payment 310 $ . I paid it because I can't take it anymore well guess what happened next after cancellation payment they took two months payment from my account! This fitness is just unprofessional. Garbage. Machines broken down for weeks at a time, cardio equipment broken down for weeks at a time aswell. Missing/damaged weights never replaced. But they do a good job charging you for those fees. read more

I just started going to this gym and it is so big, so clean and on point. I had a fitness counselor give me a tour and my son went directly to the kids club which he loves. The only thing that sucks about this gym is that you have to do a 2 year contract with them and they charge you a fee after 60 days. Other than that, the gym itself is amazing!! read more

You get what you pay for here....it's cheap but so is the equipment. The free weights all have rubber torn off of them and machines are frequently not working. Weights are also never re-racked, which is just kind of annoying. Also they are supposed to open at 5am on weekdays but I showed up last week and apparently they just forgot to show up. So it's worth it if you don't wanna spend much money but there will be frustrations to deal with too. read more
