History
Established in 2013.
The Dhira Yoga Center is directed by Michael von Stange, a teacher for 25 years, trained in the lineage of Krishnamacharya. Originally incarnated as the Inwood Peace Yoga Center in Inwood, NYC, in 2004. Daily classes are offered In Studio, Livestreaming and also On Demand.
Our philosophy and classes are rooted in the Classical Yoga of Pantanjali. We practice the lightness of enlightenment, and our approach to the yoga practice, is ardent and disciplined, playful and heart opening. Our offerings are captured neatly in the words of the sage Swami Satchidananda, "Above all else, yoga is fun!" Teacher training is offered twice a year, and three courses are offered annually for those interested in delving deeper into the philosophy of yoga.
Community, health, joy, deep respect for the practice rooted in the Classical Yoga of Patanjali.
