I enjoyed the service and quality of the products available at the local Best Buy. We buy most of our electronic products there.

I ordered two faucets - only one came in the box. When I contacted customer service they told me…read morethe second one would arrive on Thursday. It didn't. I called customer service on Friday and they told me it would arrive by 7:00 pm. It didn't. I called customer service on Saturday and was told that both faucets were in the box. I explained that I had only received one. Of course I didn't save the box or packing because I had been assured by customer service that my second faucet was on the way. I lost $135. I will never step foot in Home Depot again.

Short Version: It's a pretty decent and clean home improvement store that carries the essentials…read morethat a home improvement store should have. The prices are a bit higher than I'd expect, and the employees help is hit-or-miss. However, if you get one of their super-helpful employees, you'll seriously love your experience. Long Version: Fantastic experience today at The Home Depot over in Waterloo. I started off at Menards as it was closer to me, but after I was told that Menards couldn't cut the lumber I needed AND they couldn't special-order the part I needed, I chose to try out The Home Depot and see what went on. The store itself is surprisingly clean. There's a Lumber area, and they have Lumber carts. They have a small clearance area near the restrooms. Unlike Menards, some of the prices are a bit high, and Home Depot doesn't seem to offer the "super cheap" doorbusters that Menards offers either. That was slightly disappointing. Employees seemed hit-or-miss. Some of them seemed particularly helpful and really wanted to help while others seemed to be mostly ignoring me. Both versions work fine. However, I did receive different responses from various employees as to whether the store carried things, so that was frustrating. (Turns out that they did carry it!) I wish the employees were on the same page. There was a guy in the Lumber department named Joe who was BEYOND helpful. I came in with some measurements and a general idea of what I wanted done, and he helped me pick out the wood type, explained the differences, and cut it for me. This is something Menards said they just couldn't do, but Joe had no issue with it. After that, I figured I might as well look into finding a good shelf for my cabinet, and that wood needed to be cut to size as well. I asked a nearby employee if that was something they could do, and she said "definitely not". Okay. Well, I thought I'd check with Joe to be sure. He said it would be no issue at all, and he cut it exactly how I needed it. My review would probably be average at best if it wasn't for Joe. Looks like the employees are hit-or-miss in helpfulness, but Joe honestly made this somewhere I'll come back to just for the lumber department because of him!

I had the guy out to fix our fridge. He was there five minutes and it cost us almost $100, for him…read moreto tell me we needed to put a wedge under the fridge to tilt it back so water doesn't drip. We did, and that still didn't help so now the floor still gets wet and we're out $100. Also, we bought a used dryer from them and within 30 days, it stopped working. I spoke to a lady on the phone who told me that it was probably our outlet and we needed to call an electrician to come fix it and if that didn't work to call them back. Well, we didn't have the money for that until later when we were out of warranty. It wasn't the damn outlet. So I called them back and they were going to try and make me pay for them to come fix it! I said no, you're going to come out and fix the dryer that we told you stopped working WITHIN the warranty period and you told me it was the outlet! So the guy comes out (same incompetent guy who worked on the fridge), is down there two minutes and comes up and says the dryer is completely locked up and we are SOL because it'd cost more to replace the part than the dryer is worth!!!! So then we're out HUNDREDS and STILL without a dryer! He leaves, and about 30 minutes later the COP is at my door saying they had a complaint about rabbits being kept in unsanitary conditions, peeing on each other, and malnourished. This repair man called the cops on us!!!!!!!!!! I let the cop in, and as we were walking to the basement where they're kept (next to laundry room where the repair man was working, so he was snooping in my basement!) and the cop remarks, "Wow, this house is so much nicer now - the previous tenants were disgusting." I show him the rabbits - all in ENORMOUS cages (they're PETS). They each had a cage of their own, and not stacked up (they're so fancy and heavy they couldn't possibly be stacked and they have wheels). The cop said, "I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH BEAUTIFUL, FAT RABBITS!" and left. Lying, cheating, thieving jerks.
