Needed a new laptop cheap. Only needed to surf web, make and print documents, check my email, easy right? WRONG. I went to BB due to their 'wide selection'. Took 30 minutes to get help, had to ask guys at front door to get help. Finally got someone, told him I needed a simple laptop under $300. He actually LAUGHED at me. When I asked about the laptops in my price range he said those were only for kids playing online games. Don't know about you but the games they play these days are crazy graphic and required lots of RAM. All im doing should need less. Long story short, I left with nothing after he tried to sell me a $700 laptop, drove my happy a#$ to Walmart. In 10 minutes I was in, chose my laptop, bought it, got home, easy set up, everything i wanted all for ONLY $169. WONT BE BACK EVER. read more

If I could give this location zero stars, I would. I have to be completely honest about the service I received at the Waldorf Best Buy / Geek Squad. I've been to numerous Best Buy locations over the years and never had an issue--until this one. I purchased a car radio on Black Friday and was told I needed to schedule a consultation first, and then I could come back later to add installation. That information turned out to be completely false. When I returned, they told me the only way to proceed was to return the radio, repurchase it at full price, and then add installation. Absolutely unacceptable. On top of that, the installers were extremely unprofessional--over-talking me, cutting me off, and not allowing me to explain anything. The lack of respect and basic customer service was surprising, especially from a company as large as Best Buy. This was, without question, the worst customer service experience I've ever had at any Best Buy, and I will not be returning to this location. read more

I met with Austin yesterday to help repair my laptop for school and couldn't have left happier. I'm a previous internet working student and got hacked during a hackathon and lost the data to my motherboard and hard drive needed to start my laptop. Austin quickly identified the issue and helped redownload all the necessary data and the proper operating system to quickly resolve my issue. Didn't know Geek Squad had pro IT employees working there now, but great to have a helping hand. read more

If I could give these scammers less than a star, I would. They sold my 73 year old father an OPEN BOX 55"samsung oled tv. This TV was previously returned and serviced. They allowed for him to purchase this TV without checking if it turned on. Why?!?! Well, there was no base, no remote, no manual, NO POWER CORD. NOTHING. He set up the tv a few months after his surgery and a move to a new residence only to find out he bought a gigantic BRICK. The need to stop selling open box, unchecked items for profit. read more

This review is only based on an online and curbside order. I ordered a soundbar online that was on sale. It was an easy process. I checked in online using a link they emailed me and they sent a text back and said they would be right out. I had to show my ID and he placed it in the trunk. Very easy! I stood in line for 20 min with 3 other People waiting behind me. There were 2 People working at the register initially but one left and did not return for quite a while. They have good sales on products but their customer service is lacking. I had to chase down a "blue shirt" for help. My girlfriend was ready to spend $1000 plus on a new TV but we wait so long for help after forty minutes we ended up getting it from Target. I still support the store because they have EXCELLENT electronic clearance deals and they are quick with stocking new electronics. read more

First off, I don't understand why there was so much garbage at the entrance of the store. We came at 11 when they first opened so I'm pretty sure the manager if not all of the employees saw it. The purpose of the visit was to purchase a camera. They had a limited selection that was lass than diverse so we chose to purchase elsewhere. Best Buy in Waldorf, Maryland Geek Squad was awesome my husband and I were having problems with our DVD Player tapes kept getting stuck and we were unable to solve the problem. Geek Squad representative was very nice and informative he immediately advised us that they could fix the problem and we did not have to stand in a long line which was wonderful. Within 20 minutes the DVD was fixed and we were on our way it is so nice to see such professionalism shown towards customers. Highly recommended. read more

I purchased HP inkjet printer ink 67XL black, on line and picked up at store, when I put it in my printer the it came out very light then no color at all. I printer out the return label, put it in the same box and wrapper to just exchange for one that is not defective, they tell me no you opened it , it can't be returned. I spoke to Amy supervisor @ BB, and she referred me to customer service which I called right there in the store, Spoke with Nisera (who I could hardly hear or understand, yet she states no exceptions, if you opened the package you can't return or exchange that the policy. My question is so I just handed over $31.79 , because I opened it to put in my printer to use and it would not work. Please highly recommend you don't buy printer ink from them. BB took my money and did not care that I had to go to Walmart and repurchase the same ink for $29.00 so I can continue working from home, this is my job and I have gotten several printer inks from them delivered and picked up, they have made money off of my service, but no more.!! read more

Absolutely the worst! I have tried calling this location to speak with a Geek Squad Member for 3 days and no one ever picks up the phone. I usually hold for 25 mins before hanging up. Now that I'm finally in the store it seems to be clear why. I have been in line for 20 minutes now and haven't even been checked in. I finally get someone at the counter and they're about as educated about technology as my 3 year old son who could prob trouble shoot his iPad and Nintendo Switch better then them. She tells me she doesn't think my external hard drive is repairable but she isn't sure. The problem is the USB port has been pushed in. But she would have to confirm with HER tech. So I'm like ok where's the tech? He's on break. Ok how long is break? 30 mins? Ok cool so if I wait here at least 30 mins he will back? I hope so? WTH. The music from the home theater section is blaring and you have to talk at least two octaves about normal conversation level on top of this mess. Wish I could rate them no stars. I called Office Depot across the street. They answered in two rings got placed on hold for 1 min and the tech goes we can send it out for you and see what we can do. First impressions are very important and I'm so unimpressed. I had a 10 am appointment with geek squad to get my vehicle auto start installed. I was told it would be about 2.5 hours. My car didn't get pulled in until 11 am. So is it 2.5 after my appointment time or when you actually decide to start working on it? The bathroom... I go in the bathroom and immediately notice the booger wall of fame. Disgusted!!! Soooooo is there one person who constantly uses that bathroom and puts their boogers on the wall and no one EVER cleans the bathroom or is it a club of booger wall taggers that create this collection of boogers? My wife and I bought a desktop computer and printer from the Waldorf Best Buy. In addition, we purchased a Microsoft software package with Word and Excel. When we received our computer and printer by delivery, we had a friend who works in IT on his job, setup the computer and printer. He transferred my old hard drive to my new computer and transferred my Word and Excel too. We didn't need the Microsoft package we purchased so I returned it to the Best Buy. When the salesman approached me and asked if he could help me, I informed him that I was returning the Microsoft software package I purchased. He informed me that Best Buy doesn't accept software returns. When I asked him where that was posted in the store for customer information and showed him the display that didn't have that posted, he said I could speak with a manager. The Assistant Manager came and said that no returns on software is Best Buy's policy and he couldn't take it back. He went on to say the policy was on my receipt and on the email Microsoft sent me to install the software.. When explained to him that no such policy was on receipt or in the email, but even if it was, both instances would be after the sale. Once again I asked him if the software return policy was posted anywhere in the store and he became angry and began raising his voice. Finally, after he could not answer any of my questions, he agreed to a refund, but told me he was doing a one time favor for us, as if we should be really grateful. After we left with our refund and returned home, my wife looked up the policy on software returns at Best Buy and this is what it says: Final sale and nonreturnable items All final sale merchandise cannot be returned. The worse experience ever. 1st the line at the door is horrible that's just to check in and tell the associate behind the glass what you need. Then once you get added to the system for help you have to wait for a text message for it to be your turn. I waited 15-20 minutes to get help from a sales associate. Finally it's my turn & she couldn't help me. All I wanted was to buy a laptop. I was planning on spending minimum $1000 on what I needed. My first mind was to go to Bowie but I was in Waldorf. The sales associate wasn't knowledgeable enough for me & the manager who had on a gray shirt that was to big for him and oversized pants he looked very unprofessional almost as if he just rolled out the bed and came to work. So I just happened to walk in this particular Best Buy in Waldorf to get an Amazon Fire Stick not knowing there was a newly released one coming out. I just picked up the nicest one and when to the register to purchase it and was told they were not for sale as they are being released on the 27th. Which really was not an issue, it was just the impression Al response that was given. Oh it was a mistake sorry‍ No it could not be a mistake as there were several on the shelf along the SKU showing the price of 54.00 so my question is how was it a mistake??? I have worked in retail and I know every store no matter what kind takes inventory and knows exactly what theydo and don't have. Even down to the manager Ty he couldn't give a clear answer so he swiftly walked away!! Not I truly apologize noting just it was a mistake. As a consumer I did not appreciate the treatment nor the way the response was given. It was so many different ways it could have been handled. Ty is very rude and should not get annoyed when someone asks a valid question rather than lie and say they don't take inventory they are just put on the shelf. I would never again spend a dollar at that Best Buy. I suggest some proper training for your employees especially how to remedy a disgruntled customer. Walking away like I was bohering him. Bosch dishwasher was advertised as "open box-excellent condition". Drove an hour to pick it up and they had it wrapped up in bubble wrap. After getting home and unwrapping the dishwasher was rusted on the inside, badly scratched and dented on the exterior and in very poor condition. When we contacted the store they didn't understand my issue since I was able to return the item. Complete waste of time and the management at this store needs to be replaced. Went to Best Buy to purchase an iPhone 14 Pro Max yesterday They had very few people working. There was one person working in the cell phone section who has having an extensive conversation with a couple. I was in a hurry and selling a phone would have literally required having me pay and handing it to me. I person speaking with the couple could care less that it was 3 people waiting. I went to the front to see if anyone else could sell me a phone. I was directed to a manager who stated they were short staffed because the store was not giving staff enough hours. I asked him if he could sell me the phone, since has standing behind a register, he said no. He was more concerned talking to two off duty store employees than making a sale. Meanwhile, I called Apple, paid $1600 and drove to DC to pick up the phone. Best Buy Waldorf needs better so-called management! If you all continue your horrible strategy of understaffing to save money, you all will end up like Sears. Best Buy not cornered the market by any store of the imagination. But that is where the great serviced ended. Delivery was a whole other story. The order was rescheduled several times without anyone notifying me. I basically took time off and waited for items that never arrived. I was never contacted and informed the order was rescheduled. Then I called the store in Waldorf MD. The phone was answered by someone who said her name was Zai. I asked for a manager and she asked what is it in reference to. I said a problem with the delivery of my appliance. She: what's the problem. Again, I indicated a problem with the delivery. I didn't want to go into details again and then have to repeat myself to the manager after, I had already had the conversation with the "Geek Squad" delivery service, which prompted the call to the store. I did not want to keep repeating myself and just wanted to get the delivery problem resolved. This woman ZAI (if that is her real name) refused to let me speak with a manager, so now, I am livid. I hang up and call the store back. This time Marco answered again I asked for the manager. He asked what it was in reference to, again I said problem with delivery. He said okay let me transfer you. I was then transferred to another sales rep, Issac who finally got me to a supervisor. I know it is difficult finding good people, but this is ridicules. I would advise everyone to use Home Depot, Lowes or some other company for your needs if it requires any kind of delivery and installation. Not too bad! I come to this Best Buy frequently when I want to add to the movie collection or just look around at any of the new gadgets they have in stock. It is very clean and organized at this location. The employees are super friendly as well and will always help out when the look of confusion overcomes your face. Tyler is my favorite at this location! He is super nice and knowledgeable about EVERYTHING there, haha! He sold me my new mirror less Sony camera and I am in love with it. If he wasn't there to show me all of its capabilities, I am not sure I would have even bought it. I'm excited to go back to get more additions for it :D Also, they have a really cool entertainment center section! Great to just plop down and relax if you need a break from movie hunting. All in all, a nice location, but I do have a couple complaints. :-/ The register is always slow making the lines extremely heavy during busy hours. It is the worst! I feel it may be the POS system though because the cashiers seem to be moving as fast as they can. So my first suggestion is to update or get a new POS system. The second issue, the movie selection is, meh, it's .... okay! There are some good finds I purchased but other than that, I seem to have a hard time finding the movies I really want. So maybe, up the inventory! I mean it's a big store and you get quite a few customers daily, so why the heck not! So should you come to this location if you are in the area,.....? Definitely! The employees alone are a breath of fresh air. Favs: Mr. Tyler (your rock!) & I loveeeeeeee the entertainment area, such a nice set up! On 10/3/17, I went to the Best Buy location in Waldorf, MD (#446) to buy a LG 24inch TV that was on Sale for $99.99. (Total with Tax: $105.99). When I got the TV home, I checked my e-mail and saw and alert from Capital One Bank stating that they declined a purchase attempt in the amount of $476.99 from a "Best Buy 0994".     Capital One Bank did a fantastic job notifying me and preventing any fraudulent charges from going through. They deactivated my credit card and will have a new one on the way.     There are multiple websites and forums devoted to this Best Buy location #0994 as to repeatedly being known for having fraudulent charges to people's accounts but normally after that person has purchased from a "Local Best Buy". They clearly know they have a problem and do nothing to prevent fraud.      The Best Buy in Waldorf, MD (#446) probably have an Employee thief involved in credit card frauds in house.   Well...the thief didn't get any cool merchandise on my credit card....they GAGGED!  Charles County Sheriff's Office needs to look into this store location ASAP! read more

Although the website seemed to indicate a laptop I wanted to look at was available, when I arrived at the store, it was not. But a young man named Jadyn working in the laptop department was really helpful and professional. He showed me some other similar models, told me if I ordered the one I wanted online that I could return it within 15 days if I did not like it. He spent a lot of time showing me how to work the various interfaces and answered sll my questions, including about Microsoft accounts and how to find my office programs. I am not particularly tech-savvy but he never made me feel like I asked a dumb question or that he was too busy or rushed. This made for a good experience shopping. The staff at the front who greet customers were all very friendly too. You can't get that one-on-one direct communication experience shopping online so I am glad that I stopped by the store. read more

We chose to use Best Buy in Waldorf, MD to purchase a receiver and have their mobile electronics install it into our vehicle. A Best Buy representative in mobile electronics told us what receivers are compatible with our vehicle and prices. We purchased a receiver and scheduled appointment. We waited a few months for our appointment. Best Buy said this is due to the lack of staff and they were behind In scheduling. First issue we encountered was after #1 installation attempt. After driving 30 min to the Best Buy and waiting 4 hours our receiver was installed crooked, wires were hanging down by the driver peddles, our rear back up camera no longer worked. We made another appointment for them to repair the problems they created. #2 Attempt, The Best Buy auto tech realized they had sold us a receiver that was NOT compatible with our vehicle. The Auto- tech believed this is why nothing is working properly. The Auto- tech then suggested a different receiver that was $400 more. The Auto-tech said they had to order it. Attempt #3, returned to Best Buy to resolve the improper installation. Drove again 30 min and waited a couple hours before we were notified by Auto-tech that they do not have the receiver they claimed to order. We ask to speak to Joe who is the General Manager. He said they can find a different receiver and install with no problem. After going back and forth about how unacceptable this service is, the time we spent driving and waiting, we agreed to give them one last opportunity to resolve the issues. A couple hours later the Auto- tech called and asked us if we still wanted our DVD player that originally came with our vehicle? As if we wanted to downgrade our vehicle?? We said yes! we want our vehicle to remain the way we brought it in to Best Buy. He then notified us that the receiver they attempted to install would not be compatible if we kept our DVD player. We immediately ask to see our vehicle in their installation bay. Upon inspection of vehicle with Joe the General Manager and the Auto tech we realized they had damaged our vehicle. Our back up camera no longer worked, trunk hatch no longer beeped. The General managers response was nonchalant. He said they will just put in a claim to the insurance through Best Buy. He said unless we continue to allow them to work on our vehicle there isn't anything they can do for us. I asked for them to print out all paper work showing how many times we came to Best Buy to resolve this issue. I also called Best Buy and asked them to make note of every incident during this installation process . We had no other option but to leave with our vehicle not working properly and no receiver. I requested a call from Tina the district manager and insurance claim info from Bianca the installation manager. We have not heard from Best Buy. Our calls have not been returned. I discourage everyone from using Best Buy for these services. The Best Buy Waldorf location provides poor customer service, management does not seem concerned with their company's reputation. Staff does not have the proper training or skills. Do not use Best Buy In Waldorf. read more

Sooo after going online and seeing that the Geek Squad can fix my TV that I purchased from Best Buy a few years ago (42 inch Sony) I decided to take it off my sons wall and take the 45 min drive. I was very discouraged when the bald headed guy at the front door asked me what I needed and after me telling him he told me they won't fix it, and go home and call the geek squad to come out (it's $99 just to come look at it no warranty left but why can't I bring it? Wouldn't it be cheaper?! DUH) So he shot down every question I had, discouraged me from even wanting to fix it, commenting like I was broke and couldn't afford a new TV cause they are so cheap now a days and basically made me say EFF BEST BUY!!! I can afford a new TV, a lot of them I just know it's the HDMI input that is shot and it shouldn't be too much to fix. Plus having Autism my son loves this TV and isn't good with change so yes I'd love to fix this one he has grown accustomed to. Needless to say I left and my husband suggested before writing my review to call and see if what he said was right, honestly after this loser said all these things no way would I give them a penny or walk back in even if he was wrong. Waldorf WORST BUY NOT - Best Buy Horrible GM and no resolution!! Preordered a new release wireless system. 10/25/2020 I came by on the 2nd of November to pick it up comes with a free Amazon TV cube. Not ready even though I see them on the shelf I must come back. I came back multiple times on day 5 11/7/2020 still making excuses so I ordered online again separately wireless and tv cube and received the alert it's ready in 15 minutes. I arrive working with a cashier for an hour to try to make this work. Manager makes excuses can't honor the original order for the wireless system and the free TV until it comes in separately -- even though they have both in front of me. This is ridiculous Best Buy. If I had purchased on Amazon I would have had it on 11/2/2020. I ordered at worst buy to maintain my Elite Plus reward level. Went here to buy a new TV and appliances. The TV that was on sale they weren't able to provide because it sold out. So in lieu of that they were going to sell me the floor tv. OK... so it's a 1500 TV on sale and open box they offered to sell it to me for 1200! Let's keep in mind this TV been on display at least 6 months AND on for at least 8 hours a day. That's a bit of mileage for a tv. I tried negotiating the price claiming their offer was ridiculous. I was met with a curt "do you want it or not?" By an assistant manager. Wow. So I decided not to buy it and figured I will get the appliances instead. Every appliance I looked up I could find it online for at least 20% cheaper! I told them this.
