I have been to this store only a handful of times. However it's been recently as I am in Terre Haute more. There is a greeter by the from door who is nice and says hello. The other many employees walk past you and say nothing. How can you have that many employees roaming around just an hour after opening before a busy time and they're too lazy to approach a customer. I usually have had a question, and always had to flag someone down. My most recent experience I was purchasing an item that was was a cheaper price the two other times I bought one. I later learn it was a sale price and it was over. Understandable. However when I mentioned to the cashier I thought that it should be 9.99 she looked at me and said 19.99. And just keep looking at me. So I said, "I'll go back and check, because it is obvious you're not going to." I was wrong the sale was over. But even if not I think I would've still passed on the item because of how unfriendly the cashier dealt with the situation. read more

Was there for a screen protector replacement and the guy (not wearing a name tag) behind the cell phone area was eating and drinking and talked to me with his mouthful of food. I asked "Sorry are you on your lunch?" And he said no without swallowing his food. He then looked for the screen protector and said there weren't any in stock so my ONLY option was to give him mine. Go without it for a week while they order it because of the agreement. I said absolutely not. I asked for a manager and Seth came over and said "that's all we can do" I said "can you let me know when they come in like a customer service call?" And they laughed like that was an outrageous concept. I then said "can you look and see when you will get them" and he spooked up the shipment and said "tomorrow" How is it that that they are trying to make people think they have to forfeit their screen protector as the only resolution? They need to just close this location! read more

Needed a USB-C to Ethernet adapter., the gentleman sent me in the location for item and said he would send help. While waiting I carefully looked over every package on that area and also in the area across from the help desk and no luck. Nor did any help arrive, but as I was leaving there were 4 blue-vested men having a funny conversation. Best Buy employees have time to talk, but no time to help. No wonder Amazon is so popular for shopping and box stores are having trouble staying open. I prefer spending my money locally, but when push comes to shove and I need something, I will go elsewhere. Come on Best Buy, do better! read more

Stopped in this location with my spouse and in-laws looking for a washer/dryer. Brody helped us out in the store and he went above and beyond to assist my family. He was incredibly kind and patient on top of being extremely knowledgeable of products and warranties/protection plans. Brody is an asset to this Best Buy team. read more

After going two other places and then landing up at Best Buy, I found the universal charger I was seeking. From the guy at the front door upon welcoming though to the one person I found to ask assistance, neither seemed like a wizard in the tech world to even answer simple questions. I then asked to speak to someone who was the "the tech guru" because I did not have the time nor money to make the wrong purchase. I needed someone who could actually help. And out came Ryan from the Geek Squad. Ryan was able to quickly find the universal charger I needed and was confident in showing that it was indeed the correct one. If not for Ryan, I might be thinking that that Best Buy is full of guys who do not know a lot about electronics. I expect Best Buy people to know more than me. read more

I ordered a stove that was to be delivered on Sept 5, 2024. I was told I would receive a confirmation text with the time the day before. I received the text stating my stove would be delivered between 10:30 and 2:30. I assumed that was Eastern Time, as the store is in the Eastern Time zone, but I am in the Central Time Zone. I waited for my order, and no one ever arrived. So about 2:40 Eastern Time I got on the website to see if it said anything about why the delivery was late. Best Buy did not reach out to me by any means after the delivery confirmation the day before. Across the top of my order page it stated that I needed to schedule an appointment for my delivery, and the Sept 5th delivery date was no longer listed, so I did an online chat with Customer Service, many of the responses to my statements were clearly scripted. (The kind where you hit one button, and it uses a saved phrase.) The rep said that he would escalate my problem and perhaps I could get some kind of discount or gift for my troubles. I said that I did not want any of that, and that if my stove was not delivered that day, as promised, and never contacted that it would not be, that I would cancel my order for the stove (which they stated the soonest available delivery date was Sept 18th). I had a refrigerator order that was to be delivered on Sept 10th. I asked why the stove could not be delivered at the same time, which I was told it could not. The only reason I was given for my delivery being cancelled and why I was not informed (which is the part that made me angry) was it was because of circumstances beyond their control, and a breakdown in communication. I told the online rep that I would cancel both orders if my stove was not delivered that day, since the delivery was confirmed the day before, and that I was never informed of any changes to my delivery, that I would cancel both orders. I was again told that my issue would be escalated. I never heard anything back from Best Buy, so that evening I cancelled both orders. I am retired, so it is not like I had to take time off from work, but what if I had? And since this occurred once, why should I have any faith that the refrigerator would be delivered as scheduled, or that if I had rescheduled the stove delivery that the same thing would not happen again. It is highly unlikely that I will ever do business with Best Buy again, unless it is my ONLY option to get something I need. Though I have spent thousands of dollars at Best Buy over the years, the feeling I got was that if they lost me as a customer, that it really did not matter. I went to Lowes after cancelling my Best Buy order, and thought based on the sale price of both items. However, my receipt total was less than I expected. I looked at my receipt later I was given an additional $45 off on one item, and $55 off the other item, which I was not aware of. I ended up saving $125 from what I would have paid at Best Buy, that is even with all the Best Buy discounts I was supposedly given for my Best Buy plus membership. read more

Not my normal review as I tend to not post negative comments.... but this place needs some help! Ok.... I get that stocks are low but that is no reason all the twenty year olds should be found standing in back staring at the latest tweet on their cell phones.... It took my walking up to Customer Service.... No one there...... Over to an employee who was on their way home after working to chasing a person who had to go in back and ask a coworker if they saw some news post that just came out before she could be bothered with assistance and gaining Best Buy a $ 500.00 sale. Sorry, but when I come in to spend that type of money and need to run someone down to complete the sale.... something is wrong. As I walked up to the register there were NO CASHIERS there.... She came walking from the customer service area and asked me if I was ready to check out which she could have realized as I set a very large box down immediately in front of the counter...... wonder how many things walk out the door when the cashier is away from where one would think she should stay put at...... Lack of leadership and be ready to serve yourself at this store.... read more

Best Buy lost us as customer! went on the 4th of May to purchase a new gas range. Told us delivery would be in 3 weeks and we would be notified by email the day before. That e-mail said they would be here between 12-4 pm. on Tuesday, so we had our old stove hauled away Monday night. They showed up at 8:45 am. No one was home. They left my husband a voicemail that we would have to reschedule. The new delivery date wouldn't be until June 21st. The call center is a joke. Was disconnected 4 times and when we finally got someone it was obvious they didn't have any knowledge about the delivery process. We went back to Best Buy and got a refund. Then proceeded to go to a family run business and purchased our stove and install will be this Tuesday. Thankful to Ace Applianc in Terre Haute! And they service after they sell! read more

I was harassed and treated inhumanely immediately upon entering the store today because my mouth was not covered up. I was told they would not help me until I put a mask on, although they never offered to give me one. I should have the freedom to choose if I wear a mask or not and be treated like a human being. I had to go in the store because I ordered an item online and they sent me the wrong item. The manager, Adam, was very rude as well and refused to help me until I covered my mouth with a mask. I put a mask on and he continued to harass me over not wanting to wear a mask. He finally helped me. I will not be spending my money at Best Buy ever again. I have been to lots of stores and none of them have been rude or demanding that you wear a mask before they treat you like a human. read more

When Best Buy first arrived in Terre Haute they were great. Not so much now. Their Geek Squad is rude and condescending and act as they don't give a rats ass if become a customer or not. The other day I went there and was looking for Thermal Paste and unable to find it I asked a customer service representative when it was, the answer I received is indicative of their lack of concern for the customer in this store. He said "it the computer accessory's area" I said I understand but I have been looking and can't find it. He said "keep looking" really? So was angry went home and tried to call to speak with a manager and apparently one can't contact a human using their phone answering system. Won't be going back. read more

Took my son in to spend xmas giftcard and there were several employees standing around talking doing nothing. We were offered help to which we declined. I So I went into best buy to buy a new phone in a semi low budget and needing advice... No one asked me if I needed any help at all. there was probably one employee for every customer in the store but no one could help me. I finally flagged someone down and they made me stand their waiting forever while three people worked on the same thing that.literally did not require the people.. they had all the phones locked up so can't read anything about them to even compare the phones.so I figured they'd have advice to help me decide and they literally acted like they didn't even know anything about any of their products . They couldn't even show me what phones they had in stock they just around $100, they just said they didn't know. .so I picked up one of the lil plastic cards you take to the register so that they can get the phone for you from the back..well. I was told they didn't carry those or even make them anymore.so they don't know what the cards are there. Still not showing me what.options I could buy Ok. Like instead of just helping me out they just treated me like I was in the way the entire time and stupid for asking them questions they didn't know answers too. It was honestly upsetting how they treated me for no reason.even when I voiced my frustration over still having.zero information. I definitely didn't buy anything. And they just stared at me blankly still without trying to help while I eventually stormed out. read more

Great best buy with great people. Finally a store that doesn't have people harassing you to ask if you need help every couple minutes, they actually trust their customers to have a big enough brain to know what they are shopping for. If i have a question i merely approach them and they are more than happy to help, why have it any other way? Do you fear approaching another human being and need them to first come to you? Definitely not a store for smooth brained individuals who need their hand held through every aspect of life. They are more than willing to help you find what you need or check the back for it, they don't know the answer to every tech question but that's because it's not a requirement to know all technology in and out to work there. if you have a tech question google it and figure it out yourself before going in or on your phone while you are there. the knowledge they have to give you is gained from their personal experiences and interests an employee whose never owned a camera isn't going to be able to answer your questions in the camera isle. So why not figure out your question the right way on your own time. Like i said if you are incapable of learning and figuring out answers to your questions online and literally need a person to spoon feed you information face to face everytime you want something you're probably better off somewhere else. read more

I went here with my father on 11-29-2013. We planned on spending many thousands because he wanted to get a new TV. First we stopped to look at an mp3 player for dad, and a Best Buy employee approached us and told us if we had any questions at all to ask. So I asked why the mp3 player that only played mp3s was the same price as the one with all the extra options. The employee rolled his eyes and sarcastically and with a lot of slang said he didnt know and we'd have to call cooperate and then proceeded to pull out his cell phone to drive his point home. It was very off putting so we left the area. We then went to the tv section so I could show dad the 3d televisions. It took awhile to get any help because the salesman was flirting with the direct tv girl. We asked if he could start the display so we could see the 3d tv and he informed us that there wasnt any glasses for it so he couldnt. I then pointed to the display box with a half a dozen pair of glasses, and then he said "we don't have any blue ray players to play it" and just walked away. We then looked at the ultra hd tvs and will be buying one, NOT FROM BEST BUY! Finally we went to get a refill cartridge for his printer only to find that they were sold out or something. The employee didn't have a clue what was going on and even had to leave to ask if the sold light cyan. All in all, this was a horrible presentation by this store and they lost ~$5000.00 in sales from us alone that day. read more

I went into today to try and get a new phone and after an hour of the person helping me (his name was Chris) he goes on to spell all my information incorrectly multiple times and I had to re do all my questions and new account information 3 times at the least. Then when we finally get everything figured out we get to the end and he says the SIM card won't read and refused to let me have a new one unless I paid extra. I ended up just leaving the store. Absolutely terrible experience wouldn't suggest this electronic store for anyone just go to Walmart. read more

I went in last week to replace an Xbox one controller that I had bought online. It was refurbished and I had bought the 2-year geek squad plan. I was told I could pay the $25 difference to get a new controller. WTF?!?!? That's what I bought the protection plan for!! When I was unhappy with that, They told me I could get the money on a gift card and order it again online. This was all because they don't carry refurbished in the store. They didn't even offer to fix it. They said it was cheaper to send them off or something like that, but still didn't offer to send mine. Annoyed with my options, I went home and checked Best Buy online. The controller now cost $10 more than it when I ordered it! So I'm losing either way?!?! Well, This morning, I decided to call and see if I could get some sort of resolution. I let it ring for 10 minutes 2 separate times and no one answered!!! So I called customer service. After being bounced around 4 different times repeating the same thing, they set me up an appointment with geek squad. Then, I called my local store again to see what they would do, because they had already told me they don't work on controllers. Some one actually answered this time at 8 minutes and 37 seconds into it. After being put on hold several times and waiting,(the whole call still lasted 44 minutes) I was told I can come in and have the one online shipped to me. It could only be replaced with the one online because it is refurbished. I can't be without an Xbox controller for 2 weeks!!! I got a husband and 3 children!!! I don't know what happened to Best Buy over the years, It used to be about customer service, if you had a warranty, and your item broke or quit working they replaced it! I have wasted over 4 hours between trips to the store, calling the local store, customer service, and corporate. And yes, I even called corporate. All they offered was to set me up a geek squad appointment, which I already had, and is also useless because they don't fix controllers. If you choose to shop best buy, take my advice and don't buy refurbished. If you do, you may as well skip the plan. Totally Useless!! I will not be shopping best buy any more. One star Because I couldn't rate 0. read more
