Comments: My husband and I went into American Freight on 11/11/13, at about 1:45 pm. We picked out…read morea sofa, 2 recliners, 2 end tables, and a coffee table/end table set. When we decided on our furniture, we were told that the Olympic set made by Simmons was not in the color we wanted. However, the salesman offered us the set in chocolate and would take $50 off the warranty protection. He checked his stock prior to offering this to us - he wanted to make sure that he had what we wanted in stock and actually did this after we said we wanted the lighter color. Anyways, we went ahead and decided to go with the chocolate set since they had it in stock and it would be up to 4 weeks for the lighter set to come in. We were told that the set would be delivered within 45 minutes. Three hours later, I still had not heard from anyone and our furniture was not delivered. I then called American Freight back and was told that they had tried to contact me but did not have a working number, when they did have my phone number. I was told that there was a "price discrepancy" in my favor and that he charged me for the wrong recliners so I needed to come back in and allow them to redo the sale and refund the difference. I did this and then again waited for delivery. When the furniture arrived, the recliners were NOT what we ordered and were NOT what we had looked at. We had not even looked at the model that arrived at our house. In addition, it was a different shade of chocolate than the couch. We sent the recliners back because no one had told me or my husband that we were actually purchasing DIFFERENT recliners, ones that were shorter and definitely not as comfortable. I felt very much taken advantage of and that the salesman thought I was an idiot. My husband called them and the salesman said "I must not have explained it correctly." Not once was I told that the recliners that we agreed to were also not available, in addition to the original set we wanted. If they would have just been honest and upfront from the start, we probably would have continued to shop with American Freight. However, we will NOT purchase from American Freight again because of this one horrible incident, which is very sad because everything else has been great that we purchased. We also have lots of friends and family and are very involved in the community and they will definitely hear about this customer service issue and dishonesty.

ZERO STARS FOR THIS STORE, however forced to give at least one star to share my experience…read more I'm all for supporting local businesses, however, unless you enjoy throwing your money to the wind AVIOD CRICKET BOX FURNITURE at all cost. Dec 11, 2019 I had a leather Lazy Boy dual electric recliner delivered, and it was damaged mechanically upon delivery, after waiting for many weeks for it to come in. I reported the issue immediately. They sent not once, but twice the delivery guy, that's right a delivery guy to check out mechanical issues. I did not have much faith at the time in this so called inspection, or the amount of time it took for the owner to get on the issue. I did finally have a rep come to my house a few months ago, and no communication since the guy left. Today is Nov 17, 2020 and my warranty is out in a couple weeks, and promise you I still own a broken lazy boy dual recliner that they have never bothered to make right. And to top it off they asked me not to use this piece of furniture until it was repaired. I don't know about you but i don't have $2500-$3000 just sitting around to throw at the wind. No respect for their customers, and no respect for their employees. BBB is my next stop!!! BAD BUSINESS DESERVES HONEST REVIEWS LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE!!!

Was just this store and expressed that I'd like to talk with someone who can wheel and deal because…read moreI'd like to make some purchases (a king size bed plus night stands and living room set), looking to spend some money but get a good deal at the same time and this guy who wouldn't say his name but claims to be the owner said everything is as low as it goes and the female employee asked where I'm from and I answered but the "owner" said he didn't like my attitude because I wanted a deal and I was up front about it. This was all before I started looking and he asked me to leave after insulting me about the Bluetooth headphones I wear as a driver and saying he doesn't care where I'm from and me saying it as if I was a big shot shows my character, even though his employee ask the question and called me illiterate because I missed the "no food and drinks sign on the way in" as I had a coffee with me and didn't protest when asked to leave it up front. The situation was ugly and immediately so.

I paid too much for a crappy couch and their "customer service" is abusive. I wanted to support a…read morelocal business so I overpaid for a comfortable couch, thinking at least it would be high quality. Within a couple of months, one of the arms broke. They sent out a person to see if it the repair would be under warranty. My husband was there and said I needed to call them to follow up. I did. They said the repair was under warranty, but they couldn't schedule to fix it for a while. Ok. I called back a few weeks later and they said it would be repaired, but I needed to talk to someone who wasn't there and I needed to call back another time. Repeat 5 times. The sixth or 7th time I called, they said, "You broke your couch, we aren't fixing it." My first response was confusion. I tried to understand why the story changed, but the lady said she didn't know or care what anyone else told me, they weren't fixing my couch. I talked to the manager who wouldn't address the change of story, but agreed to cover half the cost of repair. Ok. Whatever. But this time, over 6 months had passed. They never confirmed my address and I forget to tell them I had moved. The people picking up the couch went to the wrong house, but my new house was close by, he called and came to the correct location. I apologized profusely. No problem or so I thought. When the couch came back two weeks two weeks later, the other arm was broken. I told him I didn't think it was like that when it left. I asked what we should do. He didn't answer and I repeated, "I'm not sure what to do." Then he got really angry and said, "I knew you would be like this because of how you acted before!" "What?" He started yelling at me about sending them to the wrong house. He said they would just eat the cost and left, but then as he was stomping across my yard, he yelled, "You'll hear from our lawyers because you refused to pay!" "What?" I told him I would happily pay right now, but I would just like a note on the receipt that the arm was broken so I could deal with it later. He said, "See! You're refusing to pay!" He was in my driveway at this point so I went in the house and called the store. I was home alone with my young daughter and legitimately feeling afraid. The guy at the store said he wasn't over him so there was nothing he could do. I told them I was scared because he wouldn't leave my driveway and offered to pay over the phone. He said he couldn't take payment and that if I just stayed inside long enough, the guy would leave. Are you kidding me?! I called the manager the next day. She wouldn't acknowledge that they ever changed their story. She never really acknowledged anything that happened and said I shouldn't have been afraid of the delivery guy because, "he might have been yelling at you, but he's not violent." Um, yeah, because I should know that somehow? And seriously, even so, I'm a fairly small woman. If someone twice my size is standing over me screaming at me, I would consider fear a fairly normal human response. My neighbor saw him yelling in the driveway and came over after he left to check on me. I asked if she would like my neighbor to call as a witness. She said I could have him call if I wanted to, but she didn't think it was a good idea. So she's clearly not interested in what really happened or fixing anything. She was also upset when I told her I was recording the phone call. That seemed bizarre to me. Like if I thought I was in the right or the most reasonable person, I would want it recorded - which is why I recorded it! From my perspective as a small business owner myself, no one at Glidden communicates with each other and no one sees themself as a representative of Glidden. At one point, the delivery guy - who is a Glidden- said that the company messed up the address, but that was Glidden, not him. If they didn't personally do something, it's not their problem. This problem compounds because there is no feedback to improve processes. Things like always confirming addresses, keeping notes of customers' calls, some kind of process for low level employees to handle or pass along disputes/complaints, etc. I will certainly never go back.

Initial experience was good, easily found a refrigerator that met our needs for a good price. Come…read moredelivery day, it turns out it was a smidge too deep to get through our interior doors. That's on me for not triple checking - HOWEVER, then I discovered that refunds can only be done with manager approval and come with a restocking fee of up to FIFTY percent. Yes, that's 5-0, 50 percent. Mind you, the fridge had never even left the truck. I had not been informed of the restocking fee prior to purchase (there is a place on the receipt for me to checkmark and sign that I acknowledge it - but mine is not signed because no one had explained it) and if I had been, I likely would not have purchased that day. So I finally found another semi-comparable fridge at the same price point, but it is not a brand that I wanted. Luckily I had bought the extended warranty so when I experience problems (which I anticipate with this brand), they will be covered. I would not use unless you are absolutely 100% sure of your purchase, because you won't be able to get a refund. We will be looking elsewhere for future purchases.

Horrible company!!! Do not even try to purchase anything there. I tried to purchase a refrigerator…read moreonline with the paypal 4 payments. They were only to take the first payment out of my account and the took two payments at time of purchase! They then call me and tell me the fridge is not in stock! Still waiting on my money to be returned!
