Completely inadequate customer service. I bought gift earbuds for my wife, a $200 purchase. Sadly, not what she needed. We live in Seattle WA and bought them in store while traveling. I called within a couple days to return them but was told they could only be returned in store, not returned via mail either to the store or to any Best Buy Warehouse. Even though I offered to pay for all shipping costs, Best Buy was completely unwilling to try to accommodate my unusual circumstances. We are Total Tech members with Best Buy in USA, and long-time customers, but were told that Best Buy Canada is a different company so there was no help or possibility of return. Utterly disappointing! How does this approach serve your customers?! IT doesn't. read more

I came to purchase an item using the Fairstone installment plan and ended up waiting over 30 minutes just to pay. The advisor who first helped me was kind, but managers seemed unsure how to process the payment. One manager (Sean) admitted he didn't know how to proceed and never returned with a solution. Later, another manager (Cole) addressed me in a dismissive way, as if the delay was my fault, without any apology. For a large store, it's disappointing that only one person knows how to handle this process and that customer concerns aren't taken seriously. Worst business to try and get someone to talk to in person on the phone. They all hide behind computer generated messages. I tried to make an on-line purchase. Credit card security feature requires a code to be sent to you via text message. I have a land line, which doesn't accept text messaging, hence I can't place the order. The most ridiculous system that infers everyone has a cell phone. Can't even get to call anyone to place the order for me. Most useless company I have ever tried to deal with. No more. I waited 30 min for agent, when I got agent said cannot access computers from store - solution another run of merrygoround. Said supervisor could help. Hubby bought a new Microsoft Surface from a knowledgable sales person.....however when we tried to get updates of its status (transferring data from old laptop to new)....no one was answering phones, both at the front desk or the "direct" line to the geek squad. After going around and around on the ...welcome to best buy...for store hours, please select.... I finally reached the Geek squad guy after half an hour of redialing. Poor guy was the only person there, but he did do his best to help. Management : for God's sakes HIRE more people on the floor! NO ONE should be forced to drive into town because they can't reach you by phone. Poor customer support. read more

Laptop purchased online in May 2020 during lockdown. After a few months the screen will not turn on. No support given from staff in store. I was shamed for not purchasing the "protection plan" and sent away with instruction to contact manufacturer myself. I've been a loyal customer for years but the lack of customer service in these trying times is deeply disappointing. I will shop elsewhere moving forward! read more

I called into this store to get a quote on a camera which at this point I'm spending over 2000$ here and I told the sale rep what products I wanted then he proceeded to put me on hold. When he came back on the phone with me he was very rude and refused to give me a quote on what I wanted and he even said to me my manager thinks your making this up dose not want me to bother with you and don't waste my time. At this point I was shocked and stunned he let me go on the phone and that was it. There only was 4 things I needed but now I'm not shopping here ever again. Warning to all you this store is shady. Paid 2634 $ and 34 cents for a BIG HOUSE computer. I went back after a month to the store, because a virus got caught in my hard drive. The salesperson said it was an SSD drive and it was fast. How can it get a virus because I DID PAY for Norton??! I will not be going back to Best Buy. read more

This place is so ridiculous it's border-lining comical. If you are lucky enough to actually get someone to serve you. (My record is 40 minutes before someone came to sell me something.) And if you're lucky enough to have a server that actually knows something about the item you are considering purchasing. Odds are that they will not even have the the item that you want to buy in stock. Yes, that's correct. On three separate occasions, this store did not have the item which I wanted to buy, (which was displayed with a price tag) and I had the joy of waiting 10 - 40 minutes to be told I can't buy what I see right in front of me. When I complained about it today I was told that it's hard to keep up on that because it's so busy. While she was telling me that, the number of blue shirts in the store out numbered the customers 3 to 1. In fact, outside of black Friday and boxing week sales, I have never seen this place busy. Best Buy Uptown needs new managers right now because the ones they have now either do not care at all about their jobs or are so grossly incompetent that they should not be managing a McDonalds. It's too bad that there are disappointingly few good electronic stores in Victoria as I would have given up on this store long ago if there were. Pathetic. read more

Very terrible customer service. I bought my computer from them, they didn't have any in stock so they ordered one in for me. I paid for it, and for them to set up the computer once they received it. I filled out this form which authorized them to set it up and it included my personal information. I was given a tracking number through Canada post. When I checked on it, looked like my computer was stuck in Richmond and had not moved in 3 days. I called Best Buy, and was told that it was indeed a missing shipment and that they had set up a missing ticket with Canada Post and I was to contact Canada Post from now on about this issue. I was upset because I did not order it online so I did not understand why I was dealing with Canada Post. I called back Best Buy the next day and was told that it was NOT missing but it was late, and that I needed to contact Canada Post. I was VERY upset, I called Canada Post who told me that it WAS missing. That Best Buy should be contacting them and not me. That Best Buy Had NOT set up a missing ticket (like the first guy told me he had). I went into Best Buy in person, and demanded they put a computer in my hands or give me a refund. They had a computer and set it up for me. But turns out they had lost my personal information form that I originally submitted. Took my computer home, after paying the $150 charge for them to set it up for me and it turned out it was NOT set up properly. I had to get remote support from the computer company to fix whatever best buy had done (or didn't do) so that my computer operated properly. Worst of all I submitted an official complaint to Best Buy and was told I would hear back from them in two or three business days and that they would rectify the situation. Well that was three weeks ago and I have heard nothing from them. Terrible rip off. I would have been better off just ordering my product online through the actual computer company and NOT dealing with Best Buy. My advice would be that exactly, don't bother with these jerks. They don't give a crap about their customers. read more

We go into shop at retail stores such as Best Buy because we want to get something in person and on demand.... but just one too many times I have gone here and they did not have what I was looking for.
