Terrible customer service, no communication with customers at all No brought my phone in for a repair on April 25. The first day I went in the employee at the geek squad told me to bring my phone in the next day and that they would be able to fix it the next day. When I arrived the next day a different employee then told me that they did not have the part needed to fix my phone and they had to get it shipped in. Today is may 18 and I am still in the same position that I was when I first brought it in. Almost a month now and I have heard absolutely nothing from this Best Buy location in north riverside. I have called 3 different times and each time they had given me 0 information. The first time I called the employee sounded like he knew absolutely nothing, when I asked if there was a time frame from past orders to reference, he responded with "um I don't think so". The next two times I called both times they told he that the would give me a call back and update repair status, the last time I called they said they would run it straight to the manger and that they would call and update me repair status. To this day I never received on phone call, and my repair status is still the same as the first day I brought it in almost a month ago, which to me shows that everyone at this Best Buy location has no sense of customer service and have perfectly complacent in wasting my time as a customer. Today I finally canceled the work order so that I can take my phone somewhere what can actually do there job and fix my phone. I understand things can be on back order or take time to be shipped and delivered, but not once did I receive any type of phone call or emails telling me such so. Please note, this is not specifically against this location of Best Buy, but the company itself. I can only write about the location we purchased our new refrigerator from and it is this one. We ordered it online so we had no real interaction with salespeople. The backstory: Our existing refrigerator broke on Nov. 30 and the serviceperson said that it was dead. We ordered a new refrigerator on Monday, Dec. 1 through the Best Buy website. Unfortunately, it was not able to be delivered until the following Sunday but we understood. It's a busy time. Our "window" was 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Thankfully, it's winter so we have been able to keep most of the food that was in the refrigerator outside in the cold until the delivery. The day before it was scheduled to be delivered (Sat., Dec. 6th), my husband got a text that we were on the schedule to have it delivered the next day, as originally arranged. We waited around all day, a perfectly lovely Sunday that we could have enjoyed, and there was no delivery. My husband started reaching out to the text and then chatbot at 6:00 PM, which was profoundly unhelpful and he then could see he was no longer on the schedule to receive delivery. One circular and misleading text after the next from the various chatbots ensued, and he was told, oops, I guess we are not delivering to you today, we'll throw you at the end of the line to receive delivery on Friday. So our refrigerator broke on Nov. 30, we ordered a new one the next day, it was supposed to be delivered Dec. 7, we waited around all day for nothing, and were informed we can receive delivery on Dec. 12. Did I mention that we bought a bunch of groceries in anticipation of the new refrigerator? There is no real resolution. There is no apology. There is no acknowledgement that Best Buy or the delivery company THEY employ dropped the ball. There is no accountability. The bots repeatedly sent us back to their worthless app and when we were finally able talk to an actual human on Monday morning, and then a second and a third after the second one promised to call us back and then failed to do so, they were absolutely of no assistance. Insultingly and condescendingly, the bots kept trying to use the language of care when that was completely absent in our experience. This is supposed to be a two-way relationship. We purchased something for about $1,000 and received incompetence and absolutely NO support or concern in return. The best they offered is to put us in the back of the line. I will never order another thing through Best Buy. If they cannot prioritize customers and customer service, we are happy to take our business to a smaller, family-owned company that doesn't treat us like garbage. It's not too much to ask to have the agreements of purchase fulfilled, but, short of that (because sometimes mistakes happen), an effort to make things right by their customers. Never again. You have lost us, Best Buy. I'm going to call the company Best Look Elsewhere from now on because I certainly will. You got our money. I had purchased a Samsung Ring the day before, sized my finger in-store, and ordered a size 11. When it didn't fit, I returned to exchange it for a size 12 and was told the sale had ended, and I'd need to pay an extra $110. I was fine with the cost and politely asked to speak with a manager. I waited nearly 30 minutes. During that time, the manager -- a white woman -- walked past me multiple times without acknowledging me, then chose to help two white customers instead. I was calm and respectful the entire time, but completely ignored. As an African American mixed man, this treatment felt discriminatory and unacceptable. I was a tiny bit put off by the meet and greet squad at the door, but that was almost immediately overwhelmed by the compassionate customer service-- first at the customer service desk, and then in the computer department. We came in for a 12 volt 2 amp cord but thanks to gentle attentive customer service- thanks Max!-- my dad found a laptop. Let's back up a minute... the woman at customer service set the tempo for the experience. She was patient and efficient and also helped us get a vacuum cleaner down to buy. My dad was looking for a shop vac, but the good vibes of the store inspired him to buy an upright standard vacuum cleaner. (My mom broke the zillion dollar Miele for the umpteenth time and it is now a workbench project.) We asked for help while there and Max initially could not help us-- it turned out that he had the keys and could not leave the computer desk. The woman from customer service came over and got the vacuum down for us. My dad was looking for a new laptop and the energy in the store convinced him that this was the day. Max was able to help us with this part of the shopping. He was a stand up. He gently took the arm of my blind father and assisted him, guiding him carefully to the computer department and helping him select a machine. Best Best Buy Ever. read more

Terrible experience I had them replaced my radio and put in a new one My speakers have been entirely messed up since only one side of my car works. I've taken it back three or four times only for it to maybe work for a week before they stop working again I'm over it. What's the point in a lifetime warranty if they can't even do the work right? I purchased a Samsung Wine Cooler from Best Buy. It was delivered and just left in the middle of the kitchen. I asked them if installation was included and they said no. I had purchased the Total Tech package which was to include installation and any repairs that might be needed for a year. They stated it wasn't purchased at the same time (which it was) so was not available to me. I offered to pay for installation since this thing weighs 156 lbs. I was told installation was not available in my area. I live near Roosevelt and Michigan Ave in Chicago. It's very unfortunate that I have to write this review. I went into the store with the intention of purchasing two smart TV's. One for my front room the other, for a bedroom. Upon walking in I was greeted by the representative in the front of the store, as well as another employee, very friendly. I proceeded to the television section which is located on the right hand side. While I was browsing for approximately twenty minutes not one person in that department acknowledged me. The one person that said anything was a Xfinity Comcast representative. I thought of it as no big deal, they probably are letting me browse. Another five minutes goes by, I go back up to the front representative and ask him two questions. The first question being, is there anyone who can help me put the TV'S in my car. Because I wanted a 55" smart TV and a 43" smart TV. He informed my yes. "Just purchase the TV's and pull the car in front of the store. Someone will put the TV in the car for you". My second question to him was is there someone who can help me. I had a question about a 3rd TV and wanted to know which two would he recommend, are these HULU compatible and warranties etc. In addition, I was ready to check out. Again the Front of the store representative, told me " Of course, just stand by the TV's and someone would be over there right now, I'll page them". I thanked him. So I went to TV department and thirty seconds later two Best Buy employees came by the television department. However, they said NOTHING TO ME! They spoke with each other and went to another customer. Not only did they not acknowledge me, or say I'll be right with you ma'am they both proceeded to help a customer near the TV's purchase a camera or something, which was a job for one person. When one of the employees finished, he walked straight pass me again, he didn't say anything, and went to the geek squad section of the store. Completely done with waiting, I left. I thanked the front representative for his services and told him I waited another 8-10 minutes and No one showed up to assist me. He told me, "They're helping a customer, I'll page them again" I politely told him "No thank you, that's okay. I'll go to Best Buy in Downers Grove". This was a terrible experience. Yes, I understand this is a busy time for Best Buy approximately 1:00 on a Saturday. However it doesn't hurt to acknowledge consumers, or provide great customer service. If the associates would have simply stated, " Ma'am we're currently assisting someone, however, I'll be with you shortly". I would have thanked him or her for acknowledging me, and waited patiently. However, to not say anything at all, is completely rude and ridiculous. I've been to this best buy location quite a few times. Usually, as with today, you have to chase someone down for service unless, you are in the computer section. However, usually they come to assist you. This was literally one of the worst customer service experiences I have had at not only this location, but at a Best Buy in general. I tried to purchase from this location so the revenue, can stay in my neighborhood (North Riverside/Riverside) however, this would be my last choice when deciding to go to a Best Buy. Absolutely the worst experience in a retail store! We needed ink for a printer ( bought from Best Buy btw ). Brought old ink cartridge in and even showed it to the employee in that area. She told us it will work in the printer - even though the numbers are a little different. WRONG! Printer would not 'read' cartridge. Brought it back for exchange - WRONG! " we don't have that in stock but will have it here next Thursday " wait, what??? What about the documents we need to print right now? " sorry, we can't refund" . Attention all veterans!!! - this Best Buy is not inclusive. Sunday, October 10 I walked into the store to buy a TV antenna. Service counter at the front door instructing me where to find them, OK all is good. I get to the area and there's no service wraps around they just opened. OK still everything's fine, then this is what happened. An employee walks through the area I said hi can you help me. In a condescending non-inclusive way he basically chided me for asking a question. He could've responded to the question about 100 different ways but he chose to focus on his needs, completely dismissing me. Condescending arrogant self-centered, none of these attributes speak to the word service. There was not one single ounce of customer service anywhere and his posture, there was no interest in him whatsoever to understand any part of the word the word Service means So then I go to the front of the store to find the manager, who called himself Bob. Before I could even say a word barely his demeanor, his defensiveness, his manor in which he was telling me The rules of the store and how it works, again nothing to do with me, as a paying customer. Again as a veteran I asked him does he embrace an inclusive thought process for the store, because what he was demonstrating to me was that he is not inclusive. Like the other employee Bob walked away from me. As Bob walked away, turning his back and me, he demonstrated to me and everybody else there that Best Buy is not about service, Best Buy is about Best Buy. Bob was interested only in What Bob had to say, and what Bob thinks. Both these individuals had no interest whatsoever to even try to discover what was going on in the situation So to all veterans and any other family that values the importance of kindness and service, do not go to the store. After waiting (for a while) by a 'pole' for help, a girl came to help me find a modem. She was unable to find on the shelf. I handed her my copy of a print out from home of the brand name/ model number and sku number. She found the item on her phone which told her where it was on the shelf. She did not offer any information regarding the product or store warranty, purchased extended warranty or return policy. Went to register and asked about warranty; only told to purchase extended warranty or call the manufacture about it. I purchased a new washer and dryer a week ago and was promised delivery and free installation today. The workers improperly installed the washer and refused to install the dryer because they said I needed a second cut off valve. My husband offered to go buy it on the spot. The workers refused and left without installing the dryer. I called and emailed for two hours to get someone from Best Buy to help to send out a new installation team after my husband went and bought the piece. No answer, excuses, and being transferred from department to department. I spent nearly $3000 at this store, and they do not care to be responsive or do their job. I paid for expedited shipping and the stores truck was late. I have yet to receive my package and no one answers the phone. I'll be sure to never do business with this store again. As regards best buy Geek Squad in specific in North Riverside and as regards my ipod, in which I had broken off the stem of the headphone, the highest marks to a guy I think was named David, long black hair, works in the afternoons. Bought a HP Pavilion there and requested the transfer of all my data from the prior computer or hard drive. I am a 65 year old man so things possibly considered a lay up to others are not for me. In any case after the transfer of said data, had to bring it back in again, re, where is this data. I have had this process done 10 years ago by a private operator with zero difficulties. The wake of this has seen my spend no less than 6 anguish hours now including difficulties finding my bookmarks amassed over more than ten years. Nothing. And something I made VERY clear to geek squad as being an essential. With the help of a rear view mirror I now know I never should have left the place without a link to said bookmarks having been established. Plus spending all these hours, I have no idea if I'm looking for something that is not there. They DID however leave me with my old hard drive, there could be hope yet I suppose. And I will say that otherwise their help was VERY GOOD and near as I can tell well informed and totally professional. So honestly I don't even know how to rate this properly. 5 stars in some aspects, 1 star in others. Averages out to a 3. Having now spent several hours trying to locate these bookmarks I really am upset. Changing that review to one star. So 90 dollars for some quite extreme unease over a period of a week now. I now just accept those bookmarks are gone forever. I would have guessed thats on me if I had not had prior experience 11 years ago with this precise same issue with an independent operator. An operator who gave me precisely what I asked, where searching for 200 bookmarks was not an exercise in total futility, visiting sundry spots on You Tube, or googling as regards how to retrieve lost bookmarks. Fricking nightmare. And the more I deal with the cruel reality of their lack of attention to detail, of my emphacizing the NEED for that bookmarks page, were it possible I would give them zero stars, not one star. Again were I not to have had prior experience with a private, or individual operator who was able to give me back my computer with it looking precisely the same as what I left them with, I would think its just me. It took a month of multiple calls to the Geek Squad, talking to employees, supervisors, I even called corporate (and spoke to no one, that just gets you back to the Geek Squad). I had to go to the store and raise hell for them to email someone who called me finally offering delivery, but by then I wanted nothing but my money back. They refunded all but $220. More phone calls and being transferred, calling the guy who called me ( never spoke to him again) for the to agree to refund the remainder. They said the $ would be in my account in 24 hours. Black Friday. Pretty busy but everything I want was in stock. Got a TV from here, TV staff Daniel was very helpful and knowledgeable about the products. Manager even came out to shake hands. 3 stars because when I was checking out (bought 65" for $800) I saw the ad for a 70" for $700. When asking the cashier he tried to play it off saying it was out of stock and wouldn't be in for another 2 months. But I just have have that gut feeling like he didn't try hard enough to get me that 70" just because I was already paying for the other one. Overall the experience was pleasant, but as a customer knowing there was a better deal out there and you're being told it's no longer an option then it makes you rethink about how pleasant your visit really was. I came here with the intention of getting a small computer for myself. I looked at many different kind of desktops and tablets and wasn't sure what I wanted. David, a you guy from bestbuy came to ask me if I needed help. He was very informative and clear about what I was asking. It seems he was the only one working in that area because he had to leave me so he could take care of other customers. For a young guy, he seemed amazing doing many things at once.
