-10 stars: If you use Geek squad take pictures of whatever you bring to them to work on of its physical state, its event viewer status, and have a signed affidavit that it works by a credible witness.... because they will F you when they F your tech. I am an IT and brought in a gaming PC to have them replace my hard plastic tube liquid cooled CPU cooler with a fan unite I provided as they told me over the phone they would do it (its involved I had stuff to do). They checked it in, visually inspected it and certified in the doc no damage was visible. Two days later I get a message its ready to be picked up (sweet!). I get into the store and they tell me they couldn't do it because they cant remove the liquid (?) I ask the Tech if he really couldn't he then opened my pc and grabbed the hard tube supply line to the cpu and gave it a good tug.....!?!?!?! Its a 3yr old plastic tube with 3 year old seals and he raw dogged it as well with no esb or mat.... I get the bad boy home and roll up my sleeves to do it myself and I find red dye all over my CPU, my 3090, my ram, my M2 and down the board. Simply put they destroyed the entire PC!!! I have been fighting with them ever since to resolve the issue by replacing the PC. This is since 12/20/25. As of now I have yet to be contacted by their insurance company "sedgwick" as they were unwilling to take care of the store caused issue in store. read more

Buyer Beware!!!! I purchased a refrigerator around 24/25 three defective non working refrigerators were brought to my home. By the third try I kept the last one given it worked but the top was severely damaged on top since you couldn't see it I kept it and they compensated me for accepting the damaged merchandise I should've learned from there I just ordered a washer and dryer the incompetency a lack of training and knowledge was mind boggling. I ended up having 3 delivery dates within 3 weeks due to someone canceling my order unbeknownst to me. Installers driving to my home just to tell. me they couldn't instlall my pedestals given it wasn't on the order thiough id gone to the store the day before to confirm that they would be installed I was told they would compensate me for alll the aggravation that id suffered due too their ineptness once the machines were delivered They offered me $50 off each machine totaling $100 I declined and informed them that they could pick up their machines. Its the principle at this point The management has no integrity and spreading falsehoods with the exception of Darren, With consumers being very particular about where and who they spend their hard earned money with I chose to take my business elsewhere to a business who still believes in prioritizing satisfying the customers. read more

Was just here yesterday, went in to buy some usb flash drives to make recovery drive, shelves were almost bare but did find 3 32g drives. Checkouts were stacked, maybe 10 people in line and apparently having issues with purchase/returns with customer. Older gentleman in front of me after no line movement in 5 minutes decided to leave, I tried to be patient and once one register completed his transfer decided to close his register leaving just one with like 8 people in line and that one is still struggling with whatever the issue is. There were like 9 employees just strolling about the store, at this point and after maybe 10 minutes waiting I just left. Ended up buying them on amazon way cheaper, this is exactly why brick and mortar stores are going under since employees just don't care. read more

Delivery problems with Best Buy. On two(2) occasions delivery was set up and both times they were a NO SHOW !!

I was surprised by all the negative reviews. We just moved to Dover and wanted a new TV. We went to the local BestBuy after deciding to pass on Amazon (some things you just need to see "in person". The store was clean and well laid-out. Our salesperson, Chris, was very helpful, answered most of our questions, and showed us the Sony TV we were looking for. Delivery was set up and the tv came right on schedule. No problems whatsoever. Sorry that all these other folks had a poor experience. read more

This location is trash. I don't know how to put it any nicer. We drove 35 minutes to Dover just to come to this best buy to find an ipad case for our daughters ipad. We found where the cases were but had some questions about some of the products in the aisle. Nobody seemed to be working there. I found a guy walking around with a scanner in has hand, and I asked him if he worked there he replied "I'm not a sales associate, but I can call someone over to help you." I said thanks and went back to the area where my family was standing to wait for the associate. We waited and waited and waited and no one came over to us. Three employees walked passed us, looked at us, and didn't say a word.... I mean we might as well have been wearing monkey costumes and sucking on our thumbs. This company as a whole has been on a steady decline for years - there's no blaming the pandemic on this crap. How the hell do you miss the mark in selling electronics in the age of technology? Good luck getting a refrigerator delivered! If you buy a fridge from Best Buy, the delivery people are clueless on removing the handles or/and doors to get the item into the house. Twice they came to deliver, second time the delivery man came up with excuses not to remove the doors. The LG refrigerator had a tag to not remove the doors but after we checked LG's website, they have to be removed to fit into the house. I think I'll try Home Depot. I'll never buy from Best Buy again. read more

Best buy has been taking people payments and not delivering paid for products. There online chat crashes due to so many trying to find out why items paid for over 10 days ago havent been delivered. Call them up and they make one excuse after another and have no idea where your items are. I really liked Best Buy which is why we chose them to replace all of our appliances. Looks like we will have to cancel and go to a business that respects their customers To be clear We purchased 4 k in appliances Dec 2nd. The "only" day they could deliver was Dec 12th. This forced us to rearrange a planned trip as well as me take a vacation day to sit here and wait for them. Dec 10th received email reminding I would be called Dec 11th for the specific time on Dec 12th they would be here. Dec 11th received another email saying they would be calling this afternoon to narrow down the time. 3:30 pm received a text saying part of order would now be delivered Dec 18th and the rest Dec 19th. Called Best Buy and asked what was going on. We moved a entire trip to accommodate them and their delivery schedule. Only to have them move it via text to the following week which is what we just moved out trip to. He states that 1 of my items was held up and they wanted to deliver them together. I then said well you arent even doing that with half on the 18th and half on the 19th. Then he claimed he was gonna call the shipper to see what they had available. I stated they should have a Dec12th slot that was mine up until 45 minutes ago when it was changed. He then actually laughed on the phone and said "Thats a good one" Really? So after he was done laughing he said I need your phone number so we can call you back with a solution. I said dont you have it right in front of you since I'm an elite plus member? He responded oh yeah and proceeded to hang up. Shockingly we haven't received any calls. So.....Purchase 4 k in appliances from them, spend $200.00 changing reservations and plans, Waste a vacation day waiting on an order that apparently will not arrive and absolutely noone knows where our appliances are and when they may be delivered. Waiting to buy phone and activate on my own, then put in a wait line again, while Nathan/Nate basically was doing busy work and walking around talking to other sales people, Then the manager Lee, basically blew me off when I tried to get more help, then the service rep kept using his private phone while he was supposed to be helping me! Not worthy of even 1 star but there's no option for zero so.... I wish we read the reviews BEFORE ordering 7 TVs totaling almost $13,000 from them. The sales guy was helpful enough and helped us get delivery AND mounting of the TVs scheduled. However, a couple of days prior to the scheduled delivery/mounting which was about a month after the purchase, we got a casual email that stated our order was UPDATED and when I opened up the order, Best Buy had cancelled all of the mounting services but never even thought to call us. I spent the next 3 hours very frustrated and talking to 3 different people to only get as far as just confirming the delivery at that point. The day of the delivery, we waited and it was the 4th hour of the delivery window when we thought we would call just to confirm the TVs were still being delivered and, yes you guessed it, we were told that now delivery was also cancelled. We had another installation service there for the TVs which we had to cancel and then spent another couple of hours only to be told that delivery MAY be rescheduled over the next week but we needed to hold on longer on the phone with customer service. At that point, we already had the 7 TVs in our carts from BJ's warehouse and chose to have Best Buy cancel the whole order. One would think, that in this economy, they would work harder at customer service since we obviously had (and chose) other options for such a large purchase. We will not consider Best Buy for any future purchases and hope others learn from our experience. Best Buy has no one to blame but themselves for doing poorly in this economy! read more

This Best Buy location is terrible after spending over $11,000 in under 2 years I can't get management to get back to me after they botched my recent install on my appliances and made a mistake ringing me up! It's some of the worst customer service I have experienced in my life. Rob Dempsey had no problem taking my order and reassuring me he would correct all the pricing mistakes and adjustments after everything was delivered and installed. Reason being he didn't want my order to get messed up. I have called multiple times went to the store and have gotten no where. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE!! read more

Not even worthy of a star. 3rd time they were to come with 2 tvs to mount. First time they never showed but 6 phone calls they said they are coming. At 8:30pm we call a final time and they tell us the tv isnt even in stock. We traveled all of the way from PA for nothing. We told them only weekends because our primary home is in PA. They say they will come the following Saturday but show up on a Tuesday with just the mount. We weren't in the state. This weekend they say its in stock and they will be here between 9 and 12. 12:30 a guy shows up with...just the mount and says he now has to drive all of the way back to Dover to get the tv, which is just under 2 hours round trip. read more

Geek Squad Dover Best Buy couldn't fix my LG refrigerator but continued to come out 5 times to try and still wouldn't recommend the unit for replacement! The freezer fan would get frosted with ice and the frig sat there making a loud grinding noise for long periods of time..so much for having a pleasant dinner, or lunch or breakfast in my open concept log cabin. Couldn't sit in the living room without hearing the noise. Seven months of aggravation ...worst service. The manager was completely unhelpful. Don't use them if you have a choice. Finally Best Buy store manager came through for us, with a credit of the original price paid toward a new unit. read more

I will NEVER shop at Best Buy in Dover again. Customers we're not allowed in the store due to COVID. Ok, I understand that. All I wanted was a phone charger for my new iPhone. This was the first time I was buying a USB-C. I needed the salesperson, who greeted me at the car to have some knowledge about the product. The Best Buy employee came out and I explained I wasn't exactly sure which charger I needed. He stated that he couldn't help me because it was raining outside. I was shocked. Best Buy did not provide their employees with umbrellas? Are these guys getting paid to report the weather? What if I had wanted a 4K TV? Don't waste your time. This was the worst location to deal with. Tried to purchase a new laptop to work from home with got suckered into purchasing their geeksquad web root anti-virus service which states would be activated at the time or purchase. Once I finally received my new laptop the anti-virus was not activated which had me on the phone for over 2 hours being transferred back and forth from geeksquad rep to store rep who ended up having to put in for a new keycode which took an addition 5 business days which then put me out of work for an additional week. Do not recommend ever purchasing from best buy or dealing with geeksquad after this horrible experience and will continue to let everyone know of my horrific experience. They need to hire people who are competent and can do the job they are hired for. Also work on getting their inventory stocked so if there were an issue with installation it can be taken care of in the store instead of over the phone since no one answers the phone in this location. read more

Worst experience I have ever had at any Best Buy! I purchased a refrigerator and oven for almost 3k on Sunday since our refrigerator has stopped working. My wife found ones that she liked and the nice salesperson had no problem processing payment and setting everything up for delivery and install. I made sure 5 times that this will be delivered by Wednesday this week since we have no way to keep our food cool except for the freezer. My wife's daycare can run off of frozen food! I was told each of the 5 times that it will be there without a doubt. We were given a time frame of 8am-12am Wednesday. My wife rearranged her daycare and I took off work to be there for any assistance needed. I received a call at 11:15am from the installer stating that he doesn't think my delivery will happen since the refrigerator and oven are sitting in the warehouse in front of him. I contacted Best Buy and they said they changed my delivery date until 9/25/17 and the install will happen a week after that. I have no refrigerator!!! This is why I bought one with the intention of having one on the day it was promised to be here. Then I tried to call the store and have been hung up on 3x so far. Absolutely ridiculous! You have lost a loyal and long time customer over this and all of my future appliance orders will definitely be made from a competitor that actually cares about customers!! read more

The employees here don't know what they are doing. We bought a Mac book, told it would be done the next day and it wasn't. It's not near us so we had to make specific plans to pick it up. We were told we would receive a call and email when it was done which we did not. I called yet again and they told us we would wait over an hour to pick it up. Total incompetence. Had we'd known that, we would have never bought it there, nor will we ever buy anything there again. When you spend that kind of money, you should be dealing with competence, not incompetence. You gotta know that I love this place with all of the neat stuff they sell in here. Check out the new drones...and the new outdoor Nest Cams....and the laptops...and cameras...oh my. I'm sure that I've spent enough in here to buy a small house, and for the most part, my experiences have been good. I think that they may have a problem with management; however, having discussed a recent problem with one of them when staff screwed-up a cell phone enrollment for me. Pappy-Tip #54....ALOOF is not a good attitude to have when dealing with an old guy, or anybody for that matter. Overall, the staff at the Dover Best Buy are sharp and know what they're doing. But once in a while, I get the impression from some of them that they feel like they are doing me a favor when they talk to me. Next purchase at this store will probably be a little Microsoft Surface 4 (or later). Want that SSD, 16 GB Ram with i7 processor. Asked to speak to the store manager and he was in a meeting - left my phone number for him to call me, no call back. Took an hour and a half to activate a phone. This store and all of their employees are awful! My husband and I waited in line for geek squad for 40 minutes. There were originally 2 employees working the geek squad counter and then after finishing with one customer one of them left. There3 were 3 people helping over on the customer service counter. One blonde haired girl helped a couple of people, but there were tow other people that seemed to be just doing busy work. I know they weren't "geek squad", but maybe the store should cross train their staff to make them more versatile. There were still 3 people waiting in line at this time. I am a week and a half away from having a baby and had not eaten dinner yet and no one even acknowledged that we were there until finally the one geek squad tech finished with his customer. You could tell that he was already miserable and did not feel like helping any more customers. The screen of my husbands Samsung galaxy s4 stopped working the other day. It literally was working that afternoon and when he got home from work, the screen would not come on. Text messages and calls would still sound on the phone, they just would not show up on the screen. The tech evaluated the phone and because it had a couple minor dings there would be a service copay of $150! This fee is collected EVERY time there is something wrong with the phone, which is outrageous. This was not explained to us when we purchased the "protection plan" for $9.99 per month which is automatically taken out of our account each month! So we waited 40 minutes for the tech to basically look at the phone and say he wanted to charge us $150. He said he couldn't even tell what was wrong with it. I am so turned off by the service of this store, that I will definitely not be purchasing anything else from there and I will be cancelling my "so-called protection plan" (which I cannot do in the store, I have to call and do it over the phone) and I will get a new contract if I have to just so I don't have to deal with this store or there worthless geek squad again!
