This is for all Best Buy in the Country: I am a Best Buy plus member. I just bought a TV through Best Buy app linked to my account information, so I thought that I was making a purchase from Best Buy, but without my knowledge the purchase went through Beach Camera a market place by Best Buy...however I didn't get any of my plus member benefits, like 2 years protection, no 60 day return, no return to store, no price matching. So 3 days later the tv went down $200 and I can't get the refund. All the employees at the Maple Grove store and managers we're all apologies but they can't help, it is a corporate policy. So this is a warning to everyone, be aware of who you buy from on the Best Buy app. read more

I got a job online, and was recommended a computer for my job because it required a lot of apps, which I explained to the geek that was assisting me and recommending me a computer. Later to find out the computer crashes, and doesn't run properly. I made an appointment which took years to make online because they can't seem to get it together. I had a moment where I waited 14 minutes through live chat just for them to confirm my appointment time because they couldn't figure it out. When I arrived at the north town location not only did they say they couldn't do anything for me because "I can't trade in a computer because I don't want it to get the credit towards a new computer." The man lost his temper trying to explain it to me. After I asked for his manager my request was not met. I ended up so upset I stormed out. This place basically tells you to go fuck yourself after they take your money and recommend a computer you didn't ask for.Don't do business here. read more

I must say I'm quite disappointed. This location is closer to me than the one I usually go to, but they are so disorganized that I won't be back. Yesterday, I checked the website to see if they were taking recycling. It said they were. I thought I had better call ahead to check, and they said, yes we are taking recycling. I verified their hours. I came up here just to find out they aren't taking recycling. I thought, he must be wrong, I just called yesterday. He double checked, they aren't taking recycling. I guess I will be buying my new laptop elsewhere! Probably wherever will take my old one! I gave them an extra star just because everyone was very polite to me. I walked into this outlet to look around for something, walked around 15 mins, and then walked out all with 3 employees never looking up from their phones and asking me what I might be looking for. Brought my computer to Geek Squad to be repaired as it wouldn't turn on. They told me is was unrepairable and it needed a new motherboard. They suggested I purchase a new computer. Brought my computer to another repair shop and they fixed it right there and it was a $30 part. Computer turned right on Clearly the technicians have no clue what they are doing. I will never suggest anyone to bring their computers here to be repaired!!!!! read more

I was going to buy a TV at Best Buy Northtown. I brought in my old TV, like I always did and when I put the old TV down the young man said "that would be $30.00". Terrible customer service. I still have the checkout line for around 20 minutes with plenty of employees walking around me, a week before Christmas you think they'd have a little more help. Left only one lady to help costumers who is constantly apologizing, and so overwhelmed well all the other employees are ignoring all the customers. Yikes. read more

Early last year, i purchased an HP all-in-one desktop computer. Within 6 months, I encountered issues with it, and upon bringing it into Best Buy, all they did was claim it was a "software issue" and would NOT help me unless I purchased their $200+ "service plan." Why? This should easily have been covered! I will NEVER, EVER buy 1) an HP computer, 2) anything else from Best Buy, as they are unwilling to "go the distance" to maintain a customer!! read more

When I arrived at the Best Buy store (Blaine, MN) on 1/21/2021, I immediately asked if someone could help me with buying a modem/router. I was told to go to the store location and wait. I waited for 15 minutes and then went back to the original person who sits at the front of the store and asked again. He was surprised that no one came, and I heard him get on the phone again to call for help. After waiting another 5 minutes, I left the store. I ended up driving to Coon Rapids and was in and out of that store in 10 minutes thanks to Cole. The next time I need to go to Best Buy, I'll avoid the store at Northtown. read more

The store personnel are very helpful and nice. BUT!!! Our washer and drier died in November during Black Friday sales event. So we purchased a washer and dryer. I was then told later they would be a month out from installation. Okay, then the month came and was told the dryer wasn't in stock and they didn't know when it would come. This was late January and I had ordered it in November! Then our dishwasher broke and same story... I will never try to buy another appliance from Best Buy again. Also, we are waiting for a refund and have had to call the corporate office 4 times now to try and get our refund. It's been almost a month. read more

There are Best Buys, and then there are Best Buys, and none of them ever answers the phone. Ever. Live with that. As another reviewer pointed out, Best Buy likes to sell extraordinarily pricey cables. If you buy a DVD player for $60, they'll try to sell you Monster cables to hook it up -- for $70. Yeah, I'm gonna pay more for the cables than the player, uh-huh. Just to be certain, I contacted CONSUMER REPORTS, and was told that unless my components were in the ten-thousand-dollar range, I wouldn't really see any difference whether I hooked things together with gold-plated Monster cables or well-made standard ones [which, by the way, BB doesn't carry]. I was at this store on a rainy day about a month ago. The rain was just pouring down. I got there before it opened, so I sat in my car and waited. About two minutes before opening time, a car drove up and an old man got out, holding something he apparently wanted to return, or replace, or whatever, and the car drove off. The man huddled miserably by the front door. Some very self-important-looking woman came striding up, opened the door with her key, walked in, and very carefully locked the door behind her so the old guy shouldn't get out of the rain till they were OFFICIALLY open in two more minutes. I left and haven't been back. This store sucks anyway. read more

This Best Buy is not set up in any logical sense. Just trying to find a section of DVDs or the computers takes you on a full tour of the store. The selection here pales in comparison to other Best Buy stores. When we were here, there were plenty of employees just sitting around talking with other employees. Funny thing is that it was busy, so why weren't they helping customers? I usually pass on this Best Buy and go to others with bigger selections. This location just sucks. read more

Busy Store...Great Helpers NorthTown Mall is a hoppin place and this place seemed pretty busy when I got there. I needed some Blutooth Tech and was a bit bewildered by the way the store was organized. After swallowing my pride and foraging for help I came across the most delightful associate; Matt. Thankfully he had been working there long enough and cared about his job. He saved my over $300.00 smackers. THANKS MATT !!! Then the cashier Mike went way out his way to get my package opened for me so I could install the TECH before I drove off. You know that horrid packaging they seal the items in...I probably would have ended up in the ER with an amputation if I was left to try to open it up. The devise was perfect but more so the help was appreciated so much. Give these guys a raise...but don'traise your prices anymore Best Buy. read more

Probably due to Covid restrictions there might be not enough employees?. I purchased 2 computers which needed some assistance. After purchasing them I had to wait a week for servicing. They did a quick service which was great but in order to get a geek squad member to review anything during puckup I needed to schedule an appointment 2 weeks out...now at 3 weeks since the purchase. During this servicing I received a call saying there had been an issue and to return the call in order for them to finish. Today I have called 3 times over the last 45minutes, being placed on hold for 27 min, 15 min, and 10 minutes with inability to speak to someone. I've been attempted different departments and request for a manager. Not sure how long this will go on before I speak to someone and don't want to attempt to travel to get my computers without knowing if they're actually completed. read more

I am just reviewing this one Best Buy and the one transaction I have had here. Our washing machine decided to die (actually one of my damn weiner kids decided to leave a rock in their pants that destroyed the housing). Since money is tight we needed a good deal, and needed to take advantage of interest free financing (all you Dave Ramsey fans can fuck right off, using someone elses money interest free for 18 months is smart), there was only 1 dude in appliances, so we had to wait a bit cause he was helping someone else. Once he finished we told him what we were looking for, and even though the washing machine we wanted was no longer available he found us a good 2nd choice, and we got a new fridge at the same time so as to not have the current one that is on it's last legs die at a bad time. Bought it Sunday afternoon, both delivered and installed Wednesday by 2 guys who my wife said were very nice and professional. Thanks Best Buy. read more

This review is for their car audio section. The dudes were really friendly. They actually listened to my needs. I told them my budget and what I wanted. They helped me find the right set of speakers and even told me which amp or stereo I would need to meet my goals. Their home theater section, I cannot say the same about. They won't talk to you unless you show up in a suit, just to test this theory out, I showed up in a tux. read more

I have had good experiences when I come here. When I bought my laptops, I received very professional and helpful advice to find exactly when I needed. Recently, I recycled some electronics I did not need and I am really appreciative of the service they provide with that. Overall I have a consistent positive experience when I visit, the only downfall is I find they have their products a little pricier than you can find in other places. I went in to buy the new Pacman Arcade1Up machine for my sister's birthday that was shown in the ads they sent out. I first went to the Coon Rapids store but they did not have any and they pointed me to Northtown which had 4. When I arrived I walked around for 10 mins trying to find someone to help me find one in the poorly designed store. When they tried to ring up the item they started having an issue with their system asking them for a serial #. We spent 40 mins and called 4 different managers to the front until we finally had to open the box to find the serial #. After finding the # it still would not ring up the product. I waited another 50 mins with them on the phone and trying different things. After all of this the office decided that it was going to take 24-48 hours to go through escalation to have the item fixed in their system and they would not be able to sell it to me. I wasted an hour and a half of my time and was not able to buy the item that was advertised in their ad. I was not given any compensation for my time or even a real apology. The manager was more concerned about their inventory being messed up than helping a customer. I spend $1000's a year at Best Buy but this was an awful experience and I would never recommend anyone to shop at the Northtown Best Buy. After all of this I tried calling their complaint line and I got nothing but more frustration and some guy in their "complaints department" telling me that I just need to file this issue online.
