I'm still paying for a $1,099 laptop I purchased from Best Buy in May 2023 that completely failed due to a hardware issue. I took it in for repairs THREE times, and was finally told the laptop was "too outdated" to fix--less than a year after purchase. The store manager confirmed the device was SKUed out in 2023 and that no parts were available. I was told the in-store manager would follow up with me with a call, but two weeks have gone by, and I never heard from them. I originally chose this laptop after exchanging two other devices (both defective) in the same month. I've now cycled through three laptops, and this ASUS unit marketed as a high-performance gaming machine was the last straw. Best Buy refunded me the $84.95 diagnostic fee, but that's where the help ended: no refund, no replacement, and no accountability. The product is unusable, yet I'm still stuck with the debt. I've reached out through every official channel, including store, corporate, and Citibank dispute, with no resolution. For a company that prides itself on tech support and protection, this has been a massive letdown. Buyer beware: Ask when the device was manufactured, whether it's still supported, and whether parts are still available because they might sell you "new" tech with no mechanism to fix it when it breaks. read more

Ordered a TV with installation. Never received a call the day before with my delivery windows. Customers are not allowed to call the store so tried talking to call center in asia. Told my TV wasn't available. Drove 35 minutes to nearest BestBuy. Manager initially was helpful, checked and found all my items in warehouse awaiting to be delivered. Told I would get a phone call in the morning with delivery windows. Waited 6am to 6pm no phone call. Drove 35 miles back to store, same manager was like I don't know the installer never picked up my TV and accessories. Wanted to reschedule. I recently purchased a refrigerator from Circuit City--I mean Best Buy--because it was listed as in stock. That's a pretty simple phrase, right? In. Stock. I mean, even a company still running a relic of the 90s website should understand what that means. Fast forward to the missed delivery window. I call to figure out what's going on, assuming, foolishly, that this was a scheduling hiccup. But no--turns out, my fridge is actually out of stock for the next four months. FOUR MONTHS. That's not a restock delay; that's a cryogenic sleep cycle. At this point, I'm half-expecting Ashton Kutcher to pop out and tell me I've been Punk'd. But nope, this is just Circuit City--I mean Best Buy--operating at its finest. They had the audacity to sell me something they knew they didn't have. Apparently, "inventory management" is just a suggestion over there, much like customer satisfaction or timely deliveries. And let's talk about their customer service. Oh, the joy of being transferred between departments like a bad game of telephone. Each rep seemed as confused about the situation as Circuit City--I mean Best Buy--was about staying in business in the early 2000s. It's like they've outsourced their support team to a black hole where accountability goes to die. Look, I don't need an apology. I need a refrigerator, preferably before I need to put my milk on life support. But here I am, fridge-less and furious, wondering if I should have just duct-taped an Igloo cooler to my wall and called it a day. To sum it up: If you're looking for a company that excels in disappointment and disorganization, look no further than Circuit City--I mean Best Buy. I placed an order on the Best Buy app for pickup for an open box - excellent Apple Watch Ultra 2 at this location because it was far cheaper than anywhere else. I picked it up on my way out of town and opened the box in the car to find it was a COUNTERFEIT watch! It had a Gucci wallpaper, an info app with the wrong serial number, it was unlocked, said "WATCH ULTRA 2" on the back, and all of the apps looked odd compared to the Series 7 I was holding. They made me wait for an hour before finally giving me store credit which I really did not want. A refund would have been better. At first they tried to hand me a piece of paper with Best Buy's online support number and the watch but I refused because I am not dealing with online support for this issue. I am only giving this 2 stars instead of 1 star because of Buddy. When he came over I finally received assistance. The manager and other lady I was with kept walking away to help other customers and delayed my trip. An awful experience. read more

I had an order that I needed to pick up at this store, so while I was already here, instead of curbside, I went inside so I could take a look around. Store has the newer updated look and feel that most Best Buys have been given over the past couple years. Inventory of items is pretty good and they seem to have a good selection to choose between. They have all the typical household appliance (large and small), tv's and accessories, cameras, cell phones, speakers, tablets, computers, etc. Walking through the movie section I would say that it looked like they had a pretty good - some what large selection to look through. That being said the way they are displayed makes it extremely hard to see what they actually have. Getting my order was easy and only took a couple minutes (they weren't busy). My order was accurate seemed to be well taken care of. Few employee interactions, but what interaction I did have, they were nice enough ... nothing to stand out as either good or bad. Overall experience was 'ok' thus the three star review. I'd return here in the future. read more

I've come here several times over the years, but none recently until this past week. The store is updated since the last time I came in. The staff were all friendly, and several made sure to stop and check on me or ask if they could help. I got the parts needed for my poor computer which had died, and checked out. Got home... and they didn't work. So I went back and returned them. It was a fairly hassle-free process, which was very nice. The only issue was I was in a hurry, and the person at customer service definitely wasn't! Sometimes they're over priced, sometimes there are deals. Just have to know what you're looking for. And given the customer service I had these past visits, I'm sure I'll be back and it won't be several years between like before. read more

I couldn't believe it. I had even picked out the TV I wanted. Drove a half hour to Costco to buy it. My main reason for coming into Best Buy is to see how much they were selling Rogue One since nobody wanted to answer the phone when I tried calling up here. Normally, the associates speak to you as soon as you walk in, but I just passed by two associates that didn't bother to acknowledge that I just walk in. Guess they were having a good chat to not even end the conversation. Anyway, they didn't even have a price for the blu-ray so a nice associate scan the item and told me it's on sale for $19.99 which I was sold on getting it since everywhere else wanted more. I normally like best buy; I'm a tech geek and 99.99% of the time, I'm right so when I come into an electronics store as a customer, the employee is supposed to know more me or at least that's the general consensus. I came in to buy a fast charger for my LG G6 and the person there at the time wasn't the least bit helpful. I think it's because he was either lazy or didn't know what I was talking about. A quick google search would have helped him out. I ended up going to Wal-Mart which is horrible step down for electronics but amazingly, I had a competent employee help me out wonderfully. First, I've been a loyal Best Buy customer since they opened a store in Montgomery, AL about 17 years ago? I am also an Elite Plus member (for many years) which apparently just means I've spent waaaaay too much money with these folks. The only perk is the 45 day return and that is it ---nothing more ...they have whittled the perks down to nothing. I'm not happy about the 'perks' being taken away but the bigger issue is the customer service or lack thereof --it's more like a stall and distract. Now to the point of this review -this store has lousy customer service AND they seem to be out of stock on several items with a placard saying to contact one of the store personnel who will assist; meaning they'll order it online which is what I could've done in the first place without wasting time driving to the store. When you ask to speak to a manager, they stall and send someone else who, in my case, smelled like an ashtray with a cigarette still burning in it, then when you say you now want the District Manager's phone number, they start talking on their headsets back and forth and the manager finally lumbers out from his office and still doesn't provide the district manager's number. I will return but only to cash in my $105 rewards certificate and maybe utilize the 45 day return window on the items I bought last week. I'm done. Never again. It's really sad because I try to shop local and I've always loved BestBuy but now that their competition HHGreg has gone under, they don't seem to care. There are some good employees there though -and I'm sorry but I'm having trouble recalling their names at the moment. I visited this store yesterday to purchase a Cannon Rebel TS 3. I specifically went to this store because they had an open box item that was almost 50% off. For those of you who don't know Best Buy sells open box items at reduced prices. An open box item may have been returned to the store or may have been a a display item. You have to check online to determine the items held by the stores near you. Any who... After waiting for about 5 minutes a sales associate worked exclusively with me to find the item and other necessities I needed. The camera was missing a battery, but I was able to find one for about $50 bucks. It took a while to find everything, but all in all I am more than happy with my purchase. The trick: tell the security card when you first walk in what you are looking for so that he/she can alert someone to come help you. read more

The salesperson lied to me about a store account not being a credit card. I asked him 3 times if it was a credit card and would it go against my credit report. Every time he said it wasn't a credit card and that it would not affect my credit in any way. I called the store back yesterday and after spending 20 mins on hold, I got a customer service rep at a different store. She was the rudest "customer service" person I've ever spoken to. When I asked for her name, she hung up. I called back and spent another 20 mins on hold. I had to jump through a bunch of hoops to get the situation handled. Hopefully I can get all of this wiped off my credit history. I'll never buy anything big there again. When we buy new appliances we will go to Home Depot. read more

I purchased a mac book from BEST BUY in Trussville Alabama store on Monday 11-12-18. I then drove the laptop to Nashville Tn. My son needed the computer to complete a paper for Vanderbilt University. The computers were down when I bought the computer, so the young man who sold me the computer showed me on his phone how much I would be charged, and I was told that I would receive an invoice thru email. I never received the email, so I called on Wednesday 11-14-18 and the store emailed me a receipt. After I received, I noticed that I had been charged $220 to much. I contacted the store and they agreed that they had mistakenly sold me the wrong computer. I spoke with a manager named Charles although he agreed that it is Best Buys mistake, he ask that my son return it to a store in Franklin Tn that is an hour away and he will lose all the work and data that he has already downloaded to the lap top. This is and unfair solution, my son will have to skip school or work to do this and will have to drive 40 miles. I live on disability and now Best Buy has the money that I need for thanksgiving dinner. I need someone to fix this. Best Buy stole $220 from me. It was Best Buys mistake and they even admitted it and I need my money back. I am waiting on a call from April Cleveland who is Charles's supervisor. Also, they want to charge me for transferring the data from the wrong laptop to the correct laptop. I am only asking that Best Buy do the right thing. I was in there last week. This was my third trip, recent trip to this location. The last 2 times the service was awful and due to covid had to make appt.'s. This time, I went in and stood and waited an eternity, as other were doing. There appeared to be only 2 people working in the back of the store where what I needed was located. I went on a weekday around 2 PM thinking there would be less customers there. Another customer asked an employee who was helping a customer, if there was anyone to help the other customers, at which point we were told we needed to get in the "cue" .... that would've been really helpful to know upon entering, but, I just wanted to check out. Finally, after all this foolishness, I realized I didn't need the hard drive as bad as I thought I did and put it down and left. I've been a BB customer for decades. I have purchased SO much merchandise, appliances, big screens, computers, blu-rays, speakers, have the BB credit card, etc. I know we're in a pandemic. I have recently had several horrible customer service experiences at Best Buy and will no longer be a customer. Story #1: I went into Best Buy to purchase a MS Surface. There were three employees standing around and talking in the computer section and not one bothered to ask us if we needed help so I approached them to ask my questions. The 20 something year old seemed inconvenienced that I would bother interrupting his conversation. He came over and could not answer a single question and then walked quickly back to his entourage. Story #2: I went into the store 4 times to attempt to purchase my son an iPhone. After standing in a phantom line for 45 minutes, the first employee took so much time, I had to leave (I was there for an hour and a half). The second time after I waited in line they actually could not find the keys to the phone case (one of the employees had left with them). I did not even get an apology after they looked for the employee for 20 minutes in slow motion. I finally left. The third time I waited in line for a while and gave up as it was taking so long. The fourth time, I finally was able to purchase the phone, but I just got my bill from AT&T and they billed me for two plans because the Best Buy employee had set it up wrong. Best Buy is going to be yet another store that goes out of business doe to a total lack of in-store customer service. I have yet to see a manager when I have gone in a store.
