They have a sign posted (registered appointment line up here (left side) and non registered appointments line up here (right side). I drove a senior to the office and there were no lines, she only needed an award form. The representative on the phone said go in and explain what you need. To our surprise and dismay both security officers turned us away and said go online and make an appointment. One of the main issues is many seniors are not technology savvy and need a human being to assist them. Immediately I had to call SSA, wait 15 minutes (thank goodness), to ask the representative to mail her the form needed. I will say it has enough security features / barriers inside that you can't just walk in. The Front office security definitely needs to show a little more respect and kindness and towards people in general entering the office. Yes, I know they run into people who are aggressive, upset and have bad behavior but they should not taken that attitude towards everyone else who arrives for assistance. However, some of the rules are a bit strange. They don't allow the use of wifi. But we don't usually come equipped with wifi. Perhaps the signs were referring to the tethering feature most phones come with where one can use a cell phone as a "hot spot" enabling other devices to connect via wifi. The reason for this prohibition is unknown to me. The hearing office itself was nice. The security guard was nice and very respectful towards us and the clients.

It would've been a bonus if they had mannequins sporting the actual 1920s fashion. Thanks for the trip down Phoenix history :) The library is a tiny building nestled on the same parking lot behind Colonnade, between 16th & 20th Sts on Highland. *I knocked off a star because when I was there before that day and inquired 2 librarians why I was getting e-mails from their automation stating the ticket from the (Cabaret) Culture Pass had expired and needed to return it (like books), which is, of course, very odd, and the librarians didn't know what to do about it and were very puzzled; yet, didn't take action to figure out. One library (male with glasses kept being distracted and looking at the computer to do his business and the other, an older female with very white hair, didn't know what to do- this was on a Sunday afternoon). I had to do their jobs and give them my library card to see what's up and of course, they didn't see anything suspicious. Of course not, it was just a silly error that eventually went away. And, of course, I redeemed that Cabaret ticket (eye roll) :)
