We heard of Best Auto Smogs from a trusted mechanic and decided to check it out due to an ABS issue. When we got there, they looked very busy so I wondered if that would affect communication down the line. We talked to Lalo and he was upfront about charging for the estimate. As far as service goes, I'm sure this place is 5 stars. The workers seem to be very knowledgeable so I want to acknowledge that first hand. They also seem nice. 2 stars off for lack of honestly though which goes very far in a business. Any cost for answering questions should be discussed up front and not left until the last minute. I came to ask a question about my engine light and it was made to seem like they would only charge me if something was wrong and it needed work. No work was done to my car, they checked the light was on, asked me a few questions, and then charged me for those few minutes. I can't remember entirely how much they charged me but it was well over $100 to which the guy charging me said "I mentioned that in the beginning right?" Uh, no..you did not. For this reason I wouldn't come back. ladies, this is one of these places I would recommend not coming without a male, unfortunately. read more

They got me a new Cadillac converter the same day and a new sensor the following day they were very quick and kept me informed. I would not trust these guys as far as I could shoot a turd! I did not even get my car repaired here; I just looked at one of their estimates and boy was it a shocker! They charge about 5X what it would cost for me buy parts at the most expensive AutoZone in All Of OC. They tell you one thing and then pretend like they didn't...and vice versa (just from reading a review on here). Please do yourself a favor and avoid the headache that you WILL have by trusting these Scam Artists. Make sure that you are getting (AT LEAST) 1 YEAR WARRANTY ON PARTS AND (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD) LABOR...they seem to know all of the tricks to screw people. I was passing through the neighborhood and needed to get my smog checked. I found this place on Google and I am happy that I pulled in. Initially the driveway seemed full, however, Tony walked right up to my car and said that they can take me for a smog check right away. The smog check took less than 30 minutes. They recommended a local sandwich shop next-door as I was looking for lunch. When I was finished eating, my car was ready. Tony did a great job and even gave me an extra service. He said that he noticed that my tires were low and that he decided to fill all the tires with air to help me save gas. I am giving this place a five star review because of their hospitality, kindness and quickness. I highly recommend this place for a quick smog check if you're in town. read more

I needed a smog check done on a car that I had recently acquired. I got a coupon for a smog check and certificate and since they were close, I decided to go there. The coupon said they opened at 8 am. I got there at 8:10 and waited until 8:30. There was no one around. Another patron drove up, called the number and no one answered the phone and we could hear it ringing in their office. Since there was no one there when they said they were supposed to be there, I left. I will not go back to this business. read more

Came to Best Auto Smog over the weekend to get a smog check for my truck (04' dodge ram 1500). I've been putting this off for a couple months now and of course a few days before it's due BOOM my check engine light comes on , well that's what I get for procrastinating... Anyways I walked in to the shop spoke to Lalo and explained the situation about the check engine light and the smog. With in a matter of mins he was able to check out the problem and order the parts required for the repair. Literally with in a couple hours later my truck was ready to be driven (approx 50 miles)to get the computer reset. I came back and passed the smog with no problem. Before I took my car in, there was nothing wrong with it, no leaks, no check engine light on. It was 8 years old. When I took it in, they busted my radiator & told me it would cost $400 to order & replace it. My boyfriend ordered & put it in himself for way less. Taking it in the second time, the smog failed and my check engine light came on. They told me I needed to replace my O2 sensor. I told them to put in writing to extend my second smog for another 7 days & put it in writing with a signature. I was not gonna pay extra for another smog. They were reluctant to sign the extension but i made them do it anyway. We bought & replaced the O2 sensor ourselves then took it in again. From my experience, I would not take my car here again. read more

This shop is not recomended if you want things done right. I took my truck in for brakes and were not done right. My freind drove my truck only to tell me that the brakes feel really bad, i told i just had them done at Best Auto Smogs. I took it back and sure inaugh the brakes were not installed correctly. We almos got into an accident. I really should really sue this place but I chose not to.... Great customer service goes along way.... Not from this place though. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE IF YOU WANT REPAIRS. Had my mom bring my car in because the car was leaking oil and these guys were supposedly trustworthy. She asked them specifically to check underneath the car for leaking oil. They inspected the car and told her a a valve cover needed to be replaced "because there was oil on it". So she believed them and paid $500 to have it replace. $500!!! The car was continuing to leak oil so she brought it back and asked if they checked under the car like she asked. They told her, "well no, because we saw oil on the valve cover, but we can check it now". So they check under the car to find that a simple oil plug from when she had her oil changed, needed to be put back. If they would've simply done what she asked, and checked under the car the first time they would have found the real problem and she would have saved $500. Thank you guys for taking advantage of a woman who doesn't know much about cars, trusted you guys to actually fix the problem and charged her for a completely unnecessary repair.
