She was very helpful and responded to all my specific requests. As well, she does fantastic pressure point and reflexology work, as well as relaxing Swedish massage. She is very skilled and knowledgable and I highly recommend her. The staff is doing a good job with safety protocols as well. They have you do a survey to ensure you are covid free and they take your temperature. Everything is cleaned and sanitized regularly. Bespoke is situated within a corporate office building, which means there is plenty of parking. It's also right across from the Raiders Headquarters, making for good people watching for all you football fans. I've been seeing Nick for trigger point massages on and off for the last few years. I like my massages to really work out the kinks; Nick is a pro. I've never had someone find trigger points in my hands and forearms. Honest to heck, getting them worked on is life changing (especially for a desk monkey like me). I don't have to tell him what to work on (even though he always asks), he can sense the knots, often finding trigger points I didn't know I had. Got a massage and a facial here from a groupon deal my friend purchased. My last massage was in Thailand last year and definitely overdue for another one. Location does take some time to find but upon entering the atmosphere is really nice and relaxing. My friend got us both the same deal which was massage and facial. I did the massage first and then the facial. Friend got the facial first then the massage. The massage therapist that day was Lisa and both me and my friend agreed she was amazing and really professional. The facial was nice as well but not for me. It was 45 minutes facial and right after my massage. It was a long 45 minutes of me laying there and wondering if it's time yet cause my body is getting stiff. My friend is a fan of facials though and she said it was ok. For tipping we tipped separately for each service and at first I didnt see the envelopes on the side to put the tip and drop it in a box so instead I handed it to the receptionist. I've been going to Bespoke Wellness for about 5 years now. They are by far the best massage place I've ever been to and it's so worth the membership. The membership also makes things much more affordable. I've never had a bad experience there. My favorite therapist is Karla. She is very kind and professional and skilled and I always feel comfortable with her. They have a whole range of therapists so you can find someone you connect with. Had a deep tissue massage with Karla, it was disappointing. She wasted a lot of time giving me weak massage in the area that don't need too much of massage. I have to always gave her direction and kept pointing the area which needed the massage most. Seemed like she was aware of where the muscle knots are, but still did not press hard and did not focus on those areas. Instead, she kept giving me excuses that she needed to warm up the surrounded areas before going deep/strong. I have had a very good massage in the different place with different massage therapists, so I really don't buy her excuses. She clearly just wasted my time and money. Only in the last 5 minutes she gave a strong massage on my neck.. and she said my neck will be bruised, which is not. Why only giving me what I was asking for in the last 5 minutes??? When I made the appointment and spoke to the front desk, I made sure to mention that I needed a very strong massage and I don't like too much oil on my body. Karla applied the cream on my body, which wasn't smell good and it was not a good quality. I have to retake a shower after the massage because the cream does not feel good on my skin. I really don't feel I should come back to this place even though it is very close from my home. The front desk staff was nice and efficient, but.. since I need a good massage therapist, I doubt that this place has what I wanted. Moreover, the price for one hour massage is $90 plus tips, which is quite expensive compared to a lot of places in the Bay Area. This place just can not compete! read more

This place is a joke. My husband bought me a Groupon for a one-hour massage as a gift last year, and when I called to book an appointment, they told me that I would not be able to use the value of the Groupon because I had gone there before. That was fine. I was told that I could use the cash value of the Groupon for a future appointment. Fast forward a few months later, I made an online appointment for a massage. I noted in my appointment that I had a face value of a certain amount from the Groupon that I would be using towards this appointment. Today, a little more than 24 hours before my appointment, I get a phone call from Body Techniques (now Bespoke Wellness), telling me that I cannot use the value of the cash value of the Groupon at all, because I've been there before and have used a groupon. This was a gift for my husband. I had no control over where or how this gift came from. We have both gone there as full value customers as well, in addition to using one prior Groupon. I was told by Body Techniques during a prior conversation that I would be able to use the cash value of the Groupon, which my husband had paid monetary value for. Now I am being told that I cannot use it at all, so basically we are out the value that my has been paid for this coupon. They have just lost two customers. We will never go back to body techniques ever again. The massage therapists have no control over their policies, but we have been made to feel like less than valued customers. Bye. read more

I have been coming to this place for a little over a year. Have had a few really great therapists, however after I get into a routine with them, they seem to leave. Have tried several others, with no success to meeting my needs and lots okay, it's not that they are bad, their just not what I'm looking for. Oh well, it's time to move on, as I'm bummed, but are the most disappointed at the manager, Catrina. I've left several messages for a few weeks, wanting to thank her for all she's tried to make it work, however it's time for me to move on and it was great service by her and the ones I tried. We don't always meet our customers need, however to totally ignore calls, after calls is the most disappointing in the service. The quality of the therapists make this place topnotch. Pricing is very very reasonable. If you are an athlete or involved in sports this is a really great location for excellent deep tissue. I used to be a regular here, but got tired of regular cancellations on their part at the last minute. I tried them again this year and the second appointment I made I got a call 90 minutes before the appointment saying they were cancelling. I got a followup form letter that included a routine link to their cancellation policy where if WE were to cancel that late they'd charge us 50% of the cost of the appointment. All the massages I've had there were fantastic but unless you have a very flexible schedule and don't mind repeated rescheduling I'd skip. read more

Pretty bummed by this place. I bought my boyfriend a Groupon to this place for a massage and he made an appointment. They informed him that there was a 24 hour cancellation policy and took his Groupon number when he made the appointment. The day of, he called them well in advance because of an emergency and let them know he wouldn't be able to make it and asked if he could reschedule. They said no and were completely unwilling to help him out at all and said they would mark the Groupon redeemed. I was really hopeful for this place after reading the positive reviews and am extremely bummed out that they wouldn't help him out at all. Amazing! Have been here before (when it was body techniques), but not in a long time and just left from a deep tissue w/ Ren (Lauren). I've been stuck at a desk for months preparing for the bar exam plus between my two kids I'm always picking one of them up. Thus, I asked for special attention to my back and this was EXACTLY what I needed. Also, don't let Ren's petite stature fool you! She's incredibly strong and her technique is impeccable. I have gotten many deep tissue massages over the years (standard massage never cuts it), but this one was undoubtedly the best! If it's your first time here though, give yourself a little extra time because although there's a big lot for parking the building may be tricky to find if you're not familiar w/ the setup. And once inside it was a difficult to locate the exact room because there are other offices inside and there was poor signage. But, the massage WAS SO GOOD! I want to give a call out to Bespoke Wellness. I've been a customer of theirs for over 10 years now, and have to say there is a reason I opted for (and retained) a monthly subscription with them since 2014. Over the years I've found that their people are top tier. Though from time to time you might come across someone who has a style (or strength) that doesn't fit you, but given they have a range of therapists, it is easy to find someone who does. For example, I just got to work with Midori, who has an amazing modality, and I have to say she has a high attunement for subtle massage techniques, as in she was working on my back and zeroed in on a tiny little (tendon, muscle, ??) that when focused on then released a bunch of tension in my back. It was wonderful! She was very communicative and checked in amazingly. I highly recommend Bespoke for all their services (their Chiropractic is also one of the best I've ever experienced)!! read more

I decided I needed a massage before I started work. I searched on Groupon for some good deals since I was new to the area, I decided to go to the actual website to check out what they had to offer and the difference in pricing from Groupon and what they do for their members. They have an option to book online and if you select a therapist that's not available on the day or time is that you're looking for, they have recommendations of a list of therapists. I choose from the list I am booked an appointment the same day. Trying to find a way to the building was a little hard. But it's near the Raiders headquarters if that helps. I was greeted by a nice receptionist and offered water or tea and directed to the waiting room. The waiting room housed two massage chairs and a sofa. I sat in the massage chair while I waited and was greeted by my massage therapist who is named Marc. Marc was very knowledgeable and attentive. I ended up receiving a focused massage with stretching which was exactly what I needed. I would definitely go back. I enjoyed and feel so much better relief from the stretching. read more

THIS is the WORST experience I've had through a yelp deal. THIS is the WORST massage experience I've ever had. In short: -they overbook and run late -therapists are careless about your needs -therapists rush you at the end of the day -office style setting -NOT relaxing (see attached photo) In detail: We purchased a couples massage through yelp daily deals. I had extremely high hopes for this spa. In fact, I was counting down the days for this massage. Yelp has never let me down but here I am extremely disappointed. Breaks my heart it does. This place is hard to find and we were so excited based off the high reviews.. so we got in early about 3:40pm. Our appointment was for 4pm. At 4:05pm a therapist came out to pick up my husband for his massage. Confused.. because we specifically requested a couples massage. Whether or not we scheduled for a couples massage, we came together.. and we will be leaving together.. why the hell would she ask us to get started on just one of us early? So we can wait in the tiny non ventilated reception area?! She did apologize and advised us that the other therapist schedule to work on me is running behind. I wish they would have told us that at 3:40pm when we walked in... The girl excused her self and disappeared for 10 minutes. We were left in the dark not sure what the heck was to happen with our scheduled massages.. We waited until 4:15 for someone to come back and tell us that the room WILL be ready SOON. We told the girl we were upset and ready to just reschedule. This is ridiculous! 4:20pm we were escorted to the massage room. The room itself looked like an office. It was not at all like it appeared on their yelp page. Another disappointment. It wasn't until about 4:25pm when the therapists came in. (Remember.. we have been waiting since 3:40pm for our 4pm appointments that started just now at 4:25pm -not anal .. just ANGRY) The therapists went right into the massage. We didn't even specify what the hell type of massage we wanted!!!!!!!! His therapist had the nerve to ask if we wanted to shorten our massage because they close at 5pm and we had a late start. Hey LADY.. we were willing to reschedule.. and you had us wait this fricken long.. we are getting our PREPAID 60minute massage. If you wanted to go home miss.. maybe you shouldn't book clients so late in the afternoon! My therapist didn't even ask how I liked my pressure. She just went into deep tissue.. VERY deep tissue.. almost like SCRAPE tissue massage. I was cringing and moaning until she thought to ask about the pressure. I told her it was too firm. She apologized. About 15 minutes later, more scraping!!! I told her it was just too firm and again she apologized... and 15 minutes or so later.. AGAIN! I had to tell her 'OUCH, IT HURTS".. and again "oh I'm sorry". After the full body beat down, my therapist put her oily hands in my hair to massage my scalp!!!!!! aghawoeghawefaj grossssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The entire time I was on the table paying to get beat, all I can hear is the flimsy massage table creaking like a dirty old mattress. Poor hubby and his noisy massage table. He describes his massage as noisy and that the therapist didn't know what to do for a full 60minutes so she was makin up moves to fill in the time. Sad. At the end of my massage my therapist said I'm extremely tense.. well YES because I was CRINGING from the painful massage.. 2 stars because the staff was nice and they did at least notice that I was pissed the EFF off and even sent me an email apologizing for running us late and ruining our dinner plans. We btw never made it to dinner. I never bothered responding to the email. I never want to come back. The massage was great. Unfortunately, before the massage my Fiancé had to fill out a form. What kind of music played, what part of the body needs more attention, aromatherapy, warm bath towel etc. He wasted his time filling out that paperwork and the Masseuse did not read anything on that paper because he didn't do anything my Fiance chose. It was suppose to be a full body massage and the Masseuse didn't even massage his arms. Then you even charged extra for stuff which he didn't get. Found a great deal through Travelzoo and decided to try it out. When I called to make an appointment, the person on the other end was very helpful and pleasant. Infact, he even hooked me up with a better deal than what Travelzoo had to offer and purchased an add'l deal through him. I was soo excited and totally looking forward to my massage. Now that it's over, I have mixed emotions about this place - First of all, the location is really odd. It's surrounded by office buildings and a bit difficult to find. If I didn't have GPS, I would have totally been lost. It's situated right across Raider's corporate office. When I walked up to the front desk, the service didn't seem to be well organized. Friendly, but a bit scattered. I didn't wait very long; the 2 masseuses were there waiting for me and ready to go. GREAT! I specifically requested a couples massage and when I walked into the room, I was pretty disappointed. The room was big enough but it was shaped like an "L" so that the tables were not next to one another. Additionally, you had to undress in that same room, versus going to a bathroom were you would typically change into a robe and leave your belongings in a secured locker. I had Mikeh - and I requested a swedish massage. Mikeh is raved about in previous reviews - for me, I thought her touch was still too harsh for my liking. I never felt relaxed; I don't know it was was because of the room set up, or that she didn't really whisper when she spoke to me, or that I could hear the other masseuse talking to my husband...a combination of things. But, to top it off, we were scheduled to receive a 75 minute massage and only received 60 minutes. And that ruined it for me. When we finally got dressed and met them at the front desk, both masseuse realized their mistake and were apologetic. They should have checked what we signed up before our arrival. I mean, I got a really good deal and didn't even captialize on it because of their mistake? To compensate, they just charged me the same amount as a travel zoo deal. I wanted that extra 15 min and to have that short lived was just a huge disappointment. I wont discredit both masseuse - I do think that they are well versed in their craft. Location aside this was one of the best deep tissue massages I've had. Had a couples massage with T, using our LivingSocial promos, and we were impressed. Service is professional- you check in, like at a doctor's office, with the receptionist. If it's your first time, you sign a standard-issue waiver, then wait in the waiting area before your therapists retrieve you. There's a seated massage chair (haha) there, as well as water, hot tea, and honey. And of course, reading on acupuncture, massage therapy, etc. We had two female therapists and were escorted into a side room dimly lit with candles, calming music (think Enya), and two side by side tables. Both therapists asked good questions, checked in regarding pressure adjustments, asked about tight areas, and were liberal (but not excessive) with the lotion. The hour flew by and I felt so relaxed! Boyfriend agreed. Without the promo, I'd say that the massages are a bit on the pricey side (although they do have a membership option if you're into that). Swedish techniques are the lowest price, with all other techniques (e.g. sports, deep tissue, etc.) being about $10-$20 extra. Exact prices are on the website as well as online booking, which is helpful. Service was pleasant and friendly, and I liked the late Sunday afternoon hour availability. I'd totally come back. Personally, i think the 60 min is enough but there's 90 min options too. A few notes about finding this place: - This place is surprisingly in Alameda, but really should be Oakland/ San Leandro in this isolated lip of marshland, next to the OAK airport. - Parking is plentiful since it's in a business park, but allot an EXTRA ten minutes to your travel time if you tend to get lost. - There is NO FOOD options for at least 10 min driving from this place. There is a Safeway and CVS (tiny!) on the other side of Harbor Bay if you keep driving around the loop for another 5-7 min, and I think a Wells Fargo ATM. But seriously, watch for the tiny signs and once you enter the building - walk past the stairs, hang left, and go straight down the hall. read more

I've been here a few times for a massage. The deep tissue massages were excellent, the facility was clean and relaxing, and the staff members I met were very nice and efficient. That's the only reason I gave the place more than one star. My low review is due to their sketchy marketing practices. Several times, I've received emails offering promotional discounts. When I go to book on the website via their links, the discounts haven't applied. One time, the site showed that there was zero availability for discount services but showed a ton of appointments available if you removed the discount. I've called, and the receptionists have said the discounts only apply when booking online; they can't apply it for me. I sent their customer service an email about this issue (including a video of what was happening) and never heard back. It seems that they're fully aware of the issue and just don't care to fix it. I had a deep tissue massage with Anna and it was amazing! I recently moved and decided to try this place out because of the Yelp deal. (Yay Yelp!) I was skeptical but was pleasantly surprised by the way Anna was able to release all of the tension in my neck and shoulders. She asked me where my problem spots were and focused on those areas during the entire massage. This place is pricier than where I usually go but I'll definitely consider coming back if Anna is working. The building is a bit hard to find so make sure you go early in case you get lost. When I arrived for my appointment at 6:30 PM, the doors were locked but the receptionist can easily buzz you in if you give them a call. Don't expect a "spa" experience at this place if that's what you are looking for. However, you do get your own private room, everyone is really kind, the area is clean, and the massage was great! read more

Hamid (LAC) & Tracy (CMT) Yes, there are tons of acupuncturists in the greater Bay Area, but HAMID MALEK MEDANI IS WONDERFUL! Put this in perspective...I got a few things going on medically speaking and went because of a Living Social voucher. I decided to try Body Techniques out because it's right near my house and knew that if I didn't have a good experience here, I have plenty of other options. I have several medical issues going on right now (read "a complex case") and Hamid takes it all in stride. He's knowledgeable, kind, patient, accommodating, & gentle. It's obvious that he truly cares about the whole person and that he wants to affect positive change. After that first visit, I decided to buy a 5-visit series. He's really helped me with an acute back problem. There is no doubt in my mind that he helped me recover weeks quicker than if I had let it resolve on its own. He has given me very real pain relief. No exaggeration. Because of the results/evidence, I went to countless sessions with Hamid for several years to find relief for what I later learned was an undiagnosed chronic illness. Austin the owner is great too, and best of all, he hires wonderful people. I've been going there for years now and his front desk staff are exceptional. They're always so professional, pleasant, courteous, friendly and warm. They make you feel like family. Plus, the environment is relaxing and pleasant. UPDATE as of 9/16: I need to add that Tracy Martin, CMT, is AMAZING! She really knows her stuff and elevates the THERAPY angle of massage. I don't go to her for gentle and relaxing. I pay her to make me scream and to make me hate her in the moment because of the torture that she puts me through. Before you run away screaming yourself, know that I mean that in the best possible way. Tracy gives you pain with a purpose. She gets to the root of your problems and really gets in there. Anyway, ex & I have been meaning to get a couples massage here but since he's no longer around - heck I decided to finally do it. And believe me, it was definitely a good choice! I made the appt after my trip from Zihua w/the family - I figured that I'll be all sore from the long flight. I had a hard time finding them, considering I'm an Alameda native. Maybe it was jet-lagged? Anyway, I was 15 mins late but they still managed to take me in. Hooray! Lauren introduced herself and asked me if there's anything in particular I wanted fixed. In search of a skilled massage therapist not too far from home, I gave this place a shot and came away feeling so much better! I went with a deep tissue session with Dawn C. and she did an exceptional job working through the scar tissue and tight areas in my shoulders and neck. She was very communicative throughout the session as well and asked helpful questions to further pinpoint the spots that needed the most work. Out in the lobby, the front desk staff were friendly and organized with regards to all the nitty gritty of intake information, payment and scheduling. Do note that the office is out in an industrial part of Alameda and may not be the easiest to get to the first time, so plan accordingly.
