She made us feel completely at ease, even when everything felt messy. I genuinely thought there was no way we got any good photos from that session. But when the gallery came back, I was blown away. As a new mom, who delivered 5 weeks early, I was disappointed not to have had a chance for a maternity shoot and overwhelmed trying to research accommodating photographers whose work I loved. After 3 months with a preemie we were finally ready and Xinlei was recommended by a close friend. She was amazing!! We selected her "Watch Me Grow" package that included sessions at newborn (she allowed us to do this at 3 months), 6 months, and 12 months. On zero sleep, still struggling to "feel like myself", realizing I had only selected outfits for the baby, and forgetting to eat... Xinlei was exactly who we needed. She came with bringing baked goods from Paris Baguette for my husband and I (hangry husband would not make for a good shoot! Haha), loved on our attention-starved puppy, and was so patient when our daughter feel asleep / had to take a milk break in the middle of the shoot. We laughed the whole time, got to know each other, and all felt so at ease! She even included my mother who was visiting in a few photos - something so special to us. The photos were beautiful, captured our growing little family... and she even included a few fun blooper pictures (a given with a newborn, 6m, or 1 yr old) for laughs! This is our 4th year doing family photos with Xinlei and I'm always impressed with how they turn out. With 2 little boys (5 yrs and 2 yrs) a family photo session can feel like a whirlwind, and leave you wondering if there could possibly be any shots in there that aren't blurry, since they were moving around so much! Highly recommend Xinlei! I booked her because a friend of mine did holiday photos with her and I liked the style. She had limited mini sessions left so I opted for a full hour not knowing how hard it would be to keep our 17 month old entertained the whole time. We had a wonderful experience with Xinlei! It was our first family photo session, and Xinlei made us feel comfortable and relaxed. She made the process fun and captured precious images of our family, even during our short mini session. While our girl was occupied with a treasure chest (brilliant!), Xinlei got some of the best photos that have taken of the two of us (possibly ever, and certainly since we became Mom and Dad). We feel so lucky to have found Bespoke and Xinlei, and now we have a family photographer for life! Bespoke came highly recommended by a mother's group on Facebook. Xinlei is so easy to work with - from scheduling a session, rescheduling due to rain and finally meeting up a few weeks later, everything went so seamlessly. Xinlei is so warm, patient and amazing - we have 3 kids, 2 don't love getting their photos taken, but Xinlei managed to get so many candid happy photos of the whole family. I can't get over how happy we all look in the photos - if you have kids, you know how rare it is to have those shots! We booked Xinlei for our first family photos and we were so impressed! Even with a fussy baby, she made the session fun, capturing special pictures of our family. She was easy to work with and patient (we were very late to our session and she stayed late to accommodate us!), and a true professional. I've worked with Xinlei over the years and most recently for our second daughter's first year photo shoot. We booked her months in advance and up until the shoot, she was a quick communicator, gave us prep materials so we knew what to wear and expect, and she helped chose a location close to our home. Given we have two young kids, we were anxious about how we would get any decent family shots before some sort of meltdown. From the start, Xinlei was relaxed and playful with our kids and throughout, she kept them entertained with music, jokes, and also had a promised "treasure chest" for our eldest to choose a toy from, at the end of the shoot. She was able to capture both posed and candids, family shots, kid shots, and parent shots as well. I first fell in love with her gallery--plenty of natural light, but not overexposed! Absolutely floored. That was my reaction to my photos. Waiting to get them - I had been preparing to cry like I usually do when I see myself in family photos, especially since these are my first pictures post partum and I am 200% not where I want to be physically. When we got our pictures back, I did cry - but because I LOVED them SO much! And not just a few out of the hundred plus pictures. ALL OF THEM. Every single one. We've had photos done with Xinlei for 3 different shoots throughout our kids' lives. She finds magical areas in the South Bay and East Bay for photos which makes it feel extra special. Xinlei was very professional throughout the entire process and even gave us a style guide that was so extremely helpful! My hope was that we could find a photographer who could capture my daughter in her element before her first birthday as well our dog while he was still a puppy.
