I had Lori do a family shoot while I had 5 of my grandchildren in town. She did a similar shoot for us 4 years ago. It included my 2 sons, their wives, 5 kids ranging in ages 4 to 9, me and their Pop. 11 people in all. I just finished really looking at all the photos. Lori is INCREDIBLE! She captured all the love between the kids, their parents, the cousins, and the grandparents. Plus, you could see all the individual personalities of each child. This was not an easy group. I cannot say enough good things about Lori. We had the best experience with our family/sibling/newborn photos. I didn't know what to expect with our 18 month old son (still reeling from our new addition) and a newborn but she made it happen. She managed to get our son to smile and even snuggle next to our daughter. She was patient through some of our son's meltdowns and once him and my husband left, she spent another couple hours getting the best shots of my daughter. I don't even know where to start! I found Lori on instagram, don't know her or anyone who has used her. I had Preemie twin girls, one was still on oxygen. She was so flexible with the date since they were in the hospital for so long. I cannot even begin to explain how amazing she was with the girls and myself. The most patient kind person I have ever met. Twins is already a lot, then I added in my 11 year old daughter, and my husband ran over during his lunch break at work. You would think it would be complete chaos, but it wasn't at all. She was so easy to work with! She had the cutest props, I did bring some stuff but I didn't need to because of her amazing selection! I had the most amazing experience during pictures and I was even more impressed after I received them. The photos are absolutely stunning, better than I could ever imagined. There was one photo specifically I really wanted both girls asleep for and she spent 40 minutes rubbing their four heads and noses just to get them to fall asleep. She went above and beyond with everything. She listened to what I really wanted and made sure my envision became a reality. So so happy with both our baby bump and newborn photos. My sister says Lori is 'the baby whisperer.' She is great at getting them calm and nestled. She is so patient getting the perfect photos. My family and I just finished up a family/sibling/newborn session with Lori, and without even having seen the photos yet, the experience alone was amazing! Lori has such a fun, friendly, and upbeat personality, which greeted us upon entrance to her adorable studio. She even had our newborn baby's name written on the sign outside to welcome us, which I regrettably forgot to take a picture of. :( We knew to plan for about a three hour session, as all of the information we needed to prepare was sent by Lori via email as well as conveniently available on her website. Lori was so patient and really took her time in order to get the best shots- immediately recommending that the baby be fed so she would be sleepy for photos. Watching Lori at work was inspiring- so meticulous in her posing of the family and baby, making sure that every last hair was in place and every little detail was captured. She was also great about ensuring adequate time for diaper changes and nursing, understanding that these elements are critical in the ability to capture a beautiful photograph. I'm beyond excited to see the final resulting images, and overall extremely happy with our decision to work with Lori in capturing such a precious time in our lives- the welcoming of our newborn daughter. This YELP review is way overdue. Lori was the photographer for our wedding in the Berkeley Hills in September, 2011. She was absolutely amazing! We met with several photographers before choosing her. We immediately knew she was the right choice for us. She made us feel at ease, her prices were reasonable, and the photos she showed us were a perfect mix of traditional and artistic-- which was just what we (really, I) wanted. Lori is AMAZING! We did a maternity and newborn session. The whole experience was incredible and the photos are truly priceless. Being pregnant during COVID came with many challenges and it was important to me to have as many "normal" pregnancy experiences as possible so I really wanted a maternity photo shoot. Lori hit it out of the park! Our maternity shoot was so special. Lori made me feel beautiful and really helped me celebrate my pregnancy. She was also very safe in terms of COVID protocols. The session ended up being a little over a week before I gave birth and being able to look back at those photos so soon after giving birth was incredibly meaningful for me. We saw her again a short time later for our newborn shoot. Lori took such good care of us and our baby girl! Her attention to detail is unmatched. Late Update: I had missed replies from Lori, and she contacted me about my last question. So 5/5 stars, amazing photographer! We planned on going back for a family shoot, but now will be booking a newborn shoot early next year! The photo shoot itself was awesome! During that time, Lori was on top of everything! She was super patient with my daughter, creative and got some amazing pictures! She was so sweet and had my baby laughing and caught some good moments. We did outside photo session and inside cake smash, where my daughter covered herself and everything around her with cake. I only wish I had my husband with us to take a good family one as well. Here's the thing about Lori - she's awesome. Like, I'm way bummed that either she wasn't around when I got married, or if she was I stupidly didn't find her. Luckily, I found her by the time I had my kids. She took our pictures when my daughter was 7 months old, and those pictures of my now 3-year-old are still on our wall. More recently, she took pictures of our family, which now includes a 5-month-old. Lori was wonderful, patient, and took every step possible to get awesome shots, which brought tears to my eyes. We've made other stupid mistakes, like going to Picture People in between those sessions, trying to save money even though it ended up costing almost the same amount for pictures we didn't even like. Lori is amazing! Not only does she have a fantastic eye as far as creating (posing) unique shots but she also frames them in such a creative and unusual way that your photos end up looking less like some crappy family portrait and more like ART. And this was no small feat with us. She shot our family portrait recently and was able to manage 6 adults, 3 kids under 6 yrs and two little white fluffy dogs! All in one shot! She is truly amazing when it comes to working with children. We have some big personalities in our little people, from too shy to too much.
