I had a great experience with my family and friends. Was very clean and comfortable and so close to the beach probably a 5 minute walk at most I'd say. The rooms weren't hot without the ac the fans provided and being so close to the water helped keep it more than cool. The tvs were all clear and the sound machines were a plus. All the included beach towels was a nice touch too! Definitely going to stay here again and would highly recommend to family and friends especially of bigger groups, the little villa feeling is so fun with family! read more

No AC, the provided fans did not help and you have to leave your back door open to cool off at all. The units were way too small even for 2 people. Very noisy location, next to the highway and a bar on one side. The manager/caretaker has cameras everywhere wearing you and accused us of having a minor in our room. The parking is very tight and we were told you had to have a compact car only or could not park there. We left after 1 night and got a hotel room. read more

We have not vacationed since the pandemic and immediately upon our check in at Beso Del Sol in Sunset Beach, we felt welcomed and as if it was our home away from home. It was very clean, the bathroom was stocked with plenty of towels (including huge beach towels!), and the adorable kitchen had every tool any cook would need to prepare a 5 star meal. The entire area is superb and friendly, with the sand less than a minute walk and there is even a closer and cool path to walk which divides two rows of beautiful and interesting custom homes. This place basically has no staff, we did the dishes before we left but got charged a cleaning fee for not doing the dishes. The staff said 'this isn't a Motel 6', I'm sorry but I'm paying Motel 6 prices and they not only leave the light on for you they clean the room. I just wish they spelled things out better before and during the stay. read more

The manager, Mindy, was very hard to communicate with. She was also extremely rude and intrusive, as she let herself into our room at 8 in the morning. She then accused us of having more than 2 people staying in the room, when it was only my friend and myself. She also accused us of being under 21, when we were both 21 at the time, and when we tried to talk to her about how she was wrong she refused to listen. Mindy then proceeded to kick us out, after only one night, giving us only until noon to move out. Shortly after we left (within a minute of pulling off the property) she gave us a very disturbing call about how rude we had been to not clean up the room. I also realized i had forgotten my shoes in the room, and when I went back to get them, she refused to let me in the room. Additionally, when we arrived after driving from Ohio, Mindy must have been watching us because she didn't introduce herself and we didn't see her, but later she gave us a call saying that we couldn't have surfboards in the room. To me it seemed ridiculous that I couldn't bring my boards into the room to prevent them from being stolen from the top of my car, especially when it is located by a popular surf spot. The resort is in a good location, but the rooms are small. However that would not have been a problem if the manager had not been so inconsiderate, invasive, and rude. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here. The design of the room promotes the occupancy to get out and enjoy the surroundings. After enjoying a nice day come back to a room that is cozy and warm with many good neighbors. Mindy the manager is great with communication and making herself available to make our stay worth the long drive from Arizona. Perfect location for relaxing, meditating, recharging and finding purpose without noise and traffic conjestion. We will continue to vacation here and recommend others to come and enjoy the wonderful beach view and all the entertainment surrounding this area! read more

This place is quirky and not for everyone. PROS: - near the beach - kitchens have all you'll need (silverware, coffee maker, etc). - rooms were clean - patio and laundry are nice - other guests were friendly - management was helpful - children are not allowed CONS: - near a busy and noisy highway, 24/7 - beds are small. Not comfortable for two adults - rooms are small - no air conditioning in most units Box fans are provided, which take up space - parking spaces are tiny. Barely room. If you have trouble parking, it will be worse for you - some rooms are across an alley from a busy/noisy sports bar, and the alley is used by everyone (including people who appear to be vagrants). We did not have anything stolen/problems but it may be concerning to some people. - guest laundry is limited to certain days In response to other reviewers: Our unit did not have post-it notes all over the place. It had two, one cautioning to not lock yourself out and another about moving a piece of furniture. The room had a binder of reasonable expectations to make the next guest's stay enjoyable (do the dishes, etc.) Staff entered the room to change towels. There were no signs of staff entering just for snooping. The fact that children are not allowed is well known in advance. This property is small and children would not enjoy it, nor would other guests be pleased. It is near a bar and a highway. There is no place for children to play and be noisy. I am glad children were not around. Overall, our stay wasn't awful but not overly pleasant. So while I can't recommend against it I can't recommend for it. It's not for everyone. read more

Perfect location near beaches including Huntington Beach Pier, in a cute neighborhood. No A/C in units so we plan visits according to season. No kids allowed so it's generally quiet. Other than highway 1 noise (it is a busy highway). Well maintained and the courtyard is cute with the fountains and has a fire pit and bbq. Short walk across the street to beach. Mindy is responsive to guests needs. We find it a handy and inexpensive location from which to sight see in LA, go to the parks or just relax at the beaches. Lots of good restaurants and stores nearby. Kitchenette has what you need if you want to eat in unit. It works for us. read more

What a sweet hidden gem! Just across a small street from the ocean/beach! Tiny but nicely appointed suites! Even a fireplace for chilly California nights. Kitchen although small is nicely appointed. Extremely clean and well managed. Not for you if you are looking for "high end" luxury, but very cozy, charming, clean and convenient. We've stayed a week for the past three years. I love Beso del Sol. It's my happy place, the place and memories I go to in my mind when the workday/life obstacles become a little too much to bear. Recommend highly! Take a week, go to Beso - you won't regret it. Cozy, updated rooms with cross breezes, full kitchen, fireplace, patio area, jacuzzi, and the beach right down the pathway. It has everything you need in the kitchen, washer/dryer available, beach chairs, BBQ, and semi-business center (just in case you need a printer). We travel here every year or so. The location is great- close to the beach (one block) about 5 miles to Huntington pier and a mile south of all the action in sunset beach. The place is small, but clean and has a kitchenette area with all of the essentials. We go to the grocery store and stock up so we don't have to eat out for every meal. There is no A/C, but they do have a ceiling fan and floor fan, which cools the place down. You get 1 parking spot per unit. I would check this place out if you are looking for a relaxing getaway! read more

We came here for our vacation over Thanksgiving break. We stayed in unit two and had no major issues. Units 1-6 face away from the bar other reviewers speak about so we heard no noise. Unit was stocked with everything we needed including soaps, dishes, beach towels, small fridge with freezer, etc. Their policies are clearly posted and the manager was very nice each time we spoke with her on the phone. My only small complaint is that the bed is small, and I was excited to return to my king size bed at home. Other than that,this was a great unit and location right near the beach. read more

My mom came from out of town to visit for vacation and rented a room here for a week. I live about an hour away so the plan was to head to the beach and spend the day there with my daughter (10 month old). Right when we went inside to pack our lunches for the beach someone knocked on our door and handed my mom a cell phone where a lady told my mom that my daughter had to leave the premises or my mom was going to be evicted, and that a guy was going to be standing outside our door until we left. Not to mention that directly outside the door is a bar with people smoking, a rock band playing loud music and guys who were whistling at me as I waited for her to head to the beach. We ended up packing my moms stuff up and leaving. read more

We arrived at beso del sol and immediately encounter a huge pile of vomit which was left there for the next three days in close proximity to our unit. I wish we never went in the hot tub, there was so much chlorine that caused our bathing suits to fade completely. Also the chlorine caused a severe irritation on our skin. We had rented a convertible so one day we forgot to put the parking pass back on the dashboard because it flies away. All of the sudden we were awoken by someone trying to open the door. Her name was Mindy (manager). She didn't even try to knock first, she said she had already called a tow truck to tow our car. She hadn't even checked with the units first. She claimed she hadn't seen our car all week but we checked in on Sunday and it was already Friday. She rudely asked if we were the original people that checked in and demanded our IDs. She could've handled the situation in a more professional way. I wouldn't recommend Beso del Sol to anyone. read more

We booked a room through global discovery and when we got to it, it was very disappointing! It was unclean, lacked privacy, and housekeeping only comes once! We've stayed here several times in the past with no issues at all however this time around they have either a new owner or manager who was like eye spy every move we made...they have a child age restriction and my mom came to decorate my room for my bday with my grown kids who are 18, 21 & 22 she drilled my mom like the police for a 15 minute visit to the room and the kids weren't even on property they walked to the beach...while she was in my room decorating someone put a nazi symbol on her car window which is the most disturbing item of all my moms Jewish, my kids are Mexican and Black this was by far beyond unacceptable.....the bar is extremely close to the rooms and you can hear party goers all night long especially since the rooms have no air conditioning you have to keep the windows open for air...the towels had a funky smell to them too...I've previously loved staying here however this time not so much!!! read more

We are staying in this (hotel, motel, condo?) Through Global Discovery Vacations. Im giving 3 stars because I knew better on done of the things I an about to critique. First off, I will say the interior's appearance exceeded my expectation. Clean kitchen with newer appliances and stocked with pans, plates, cookware and utensils. Very nice. These items would have definitely been utilized more IF THERE WAS AIR CONDITIONING. Major downside to this location. The bathroom is also very clean with plenty of towels. Again, lack of a/c made my appreciation for a clean bathroom moot, because I would be DRIPPING WITH SWEAT by the time I was dressed. 3 drawers and 10 hangers is insufficient for a couple Envi should be staying here 1 week (we will not be). The bed is too soft. Way too soft. King Neptune restaurant and bar is literally right outside your window. While yelpers praise this place, I do believe the establishment is more bar than restaurant these days. There is a contact name we were provided with when we confirmed our reservation. Diane. Well, Diane was contacted our 2nd night here because for some reason the keypad that provided keyless entry to our room was not working. It's a good thing that ended up working itself out, because Diane has YET to call us back. One other constant irritant is that each room is given one parking spot. Every night (every night) the same car(not ours) would be parked in our spot. I left a note on their windshield to please stop doing this, because my husband had to park around the corner every night and walk back. This was inconvenient, but those people certainly did not respect THAT request. They continued to park their every night. In the end, all of these little irritant would have been easily overlooked if the room was AIR Conditioned. Sadly, because of this one area, we could only last in this room 5 nights. We will stay the rest of our vacation in air conditioned bliss. Lesson learned and note to self: AIR Conditioning is a priority to me. The same mistake will not be made again. read more
