We were recommended to Dr. Gee-Lew through a community group. Despite getting more referrals to another doctor closer to us, who we met, we got a better feeling about Dr. Gee-Lew. When I called to get an appointment to meet Dr. Gee-Lew she called me back to introduce herself. Our baby ended up arriving weeks early - before we met Dr. Gee-Lew but we decided to see her for the 1st newborn doctor's appointment anyway. We decided instantly that we liked her much more than the other doctor we met who, while very competent, we just didn't have the same connection with. Dr. Gee-Lew was friendly, knowledgeable, and "real." She answered questions, offered suggestions and hooked us up with free samples. We saw Dr. Sepulveda once when Dr. Gee-Lew was on vacation and we liked him just as much - also friendly, knowledgeable and easy to talk with. This is a busy office but the doctors take the time to give patients proper attention, answer parent questions, etc. and don't make us feel like they're rushing to get to their next appointment. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, too. We've been to the office four times now and already know we'll be happy here for many years to come! Let's talk about the family like feel that Dr. Krause gave me and my son... While we were out of the state and his broken bone mishap...over the phone after being treated at the local out of state urgent care... I did not talk with a triage nurse.. oh no... a real doctor, my child's regular doctor on the phone, with me... out of state..... after hours.... and wow.. The actual Dr. Krause returned my call, ASAP and guided me on the steps to take for my little guy, after we got back into town... Dr. Krause set up pediatric orthopedic scheduling at local Rady's Children's Hospital for a followup x-ray and treatment.... she is just amazing, goes above and beyond.......... I have been taking my precious child to this kind and knowledgeable woman for the last seven years... and she has always been a great sounding board for those things that come up with kids... read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Gee-Lew, Dr. Krause and Dr. Sepulveda - I almost didn't accept a new job a while back because I was afraid that they weren't on my new plan. The doctors are all so knowledgeable, patient and caring. We have been going to this practice for the last five years and both of my kiddos (now 3 and 5) love going and love seeing the doctors. My daughter had horrible acid reflux for the first 7 months of life and it was, undoubtedly, an incredibly hard time for all of us. However, Dr. Krause worked very closely with us and made calls into Rady's herself to try to get us in sooner to see a specialist - she gave us so much hope and support through it all. Dr. Sepulveda is equally wonderful and, with 5 kids of his own, plus years of experience, we can always count on his excellent care. We had the opportunity to see all three doctors while we were there (all were great), but we saw Dr. Sepulveda about 90% of the time. I cannot stress enough how important it is to find a pediatrician that makes you feel comfortable enough to address all questions (big/ small, dumb/ important) when you are a new mom and have no idea what you are doing! Dr. S always made our son feel so comfortable and his bed-side manner was top notch! I called and emailed whenever I had questions and he always had a relaxed answer that put me at ease and made me realize I wasn't alone in this. The office is a little outdated but I hear they are relocating soon. And the nurses can be a little blunt and straightforward, but I am the same way so I found it to be quite humorous. Dr. Gee Lew and her team of pediatricians are top notch. I have seen all three of them and you can't go wrong. They are very friendly, knowledgeable, and easily accessible day or night. Our primary Dr. is Sepulveda. He has a gentle way about him that puts my son at ease and makes you feel like you are the only patient he is seeing all day. As a first time mom I love that he takes the time to answer all of my questions without pushing his own parenting style on my family. My son has gone to Dr. Gee- Lew before and she is awesome. There are doctors that are closer to us but she is great. Well today I had Dr Sepulveda and he has the best bed side manner. He is funny and great with children. He listened to my son and his symptoms and didn't try to rush out of the room. I called that morning to ask if they could see my sick son and they told me they had an opening 30 minutes later. We didn't wait for a long time in the waiting room. They have separate rooms for sick and well children. It's hard finding a pediatrician when you move. I am glad that I read the reviews and that I found this office. read more

I love this office! I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to be seen here and have always been able to get a same day appointment when my 15 mo old has been sick. From the pediatricians to nurses, the whole staff here is wonderful and seem genuinely happy with their jobs. I have had multiple appointments with both Dr. Gee-Lew and Dr. Krause and received professional and compassionate care from each. Dr. Krause is my primary and I love that she always takes the time to check in with how I'm doing as well as my little guy. Recently I was having a difficult time with my toddler as he's going through a 'rough patch.' Dr. Krause spent twenty minutes answering all my questions and offering me advice on how to work through the issues I was having. My son adores her and is always at ease in her care, even when getting poked and prodded :) I'm now pregnant again and look forward to bringing my next to this fantastic office! read more

First call in search of a pediatrician for my baby that will arrive in November. Rejected. BEWARE: they discriminate against self-employed individuals with Covered California plans; i.e., they take Blue Shield PPO but only if it not through Covered California (which is what we have, since both my husband and I own our own business). Unbelievable. Horrible and discriminatory policy. We pay the same fees (actually more without the help of a corporation to cover the premium), and have the exact same coverage as someone who has Blue Shield through their employer. Shame on you, Dr. Gee-Law. Thankfully I have a very good team of people in this pregnancy, on both the Eastern and Western side of medicine, who do not discriminate and have never asked me what type of Blue Shield PPO I have. The good news is that I won't subject my baby to the prejudice of this doctor's office. I will find a better option. The best PEDETRICIAN but receptionist customer service SUCKS!! My twins been going there since birth, Dr Gee Lew, Dr Krause and Dr Sepulveda are one of the BEST Drs I have ever met,. they really show you that they care about the kids, they know what theyre doing and you can rely on them even if you page them in the middle of the night they will return calls ASAP, and they will guide you on every step re; first aide etc in any possible ways to avoid bringing your child to ER. They understand your frustration coz they have kids on their own too..that's why I luv and trully appreciate them for taking care of my only twins :-) my twins are not happy to see the nurse coz they always poke them for their shots but the nurse are very friendly too esp Mary :-) I just wish they will hire more receptionist that can answer the phone in a nicely manner and that will sound more friendly on the phone since they are always booked on appt perhaps can do a friendly reminder about our appt, or if there's any cancellation etc. I've encountered one receptionist and she's not very nice (Sylvia) I've asked her to call me if there's any cancellation but yet she suggested me to call back daily to check instead but everytime I call she doesn't's sound very happy, she will speak so loud she'll say "WHAT" very rude..and she's say no cancellation yet ok, try again instead of saying I'll call you if there's any cancellation etc..not only she's wasting my time checking in if there's any cancellation I feel that I am also wasting her time too and then she gives me attitude very bad customer service :-( since they are the front person..friendly greetings esp on the phone can change a persons mood for that day so Dr Gee lew should hire a receptionist with good phone friendly voice and good customer service skills just like them :-) read more

We just had our second baby. Dr. Sepulveda came to see our newborn at the hospital. He's soooooooo sweet and very attentive to the baby. Dr. Gee-Lew was out of town so we met with Dr. Sepulveda for our first visit too. Now I can't decide between the two because their both amazing! I seriously CAN NOT say enough good things about all three doctors that work in this practice. I have seen all three of them, (although Dr. Krause is our primary dr.) and they are all wonderful! I was pretty hesitant to see Dr. Sepulveda for the first time, only because my daughter is very hesitant around males, and he was great with her! Absolutely outstanding!! I have had to call after hours a handful of times in my daughter's short 3 year old life, and they call back so quickly...and it's the actual dr's that call you back, not a nurse or a "nurse line". We have also been able to be seen with very short notice. They get us in every time. The nurses and front office staff are amazing as well. This is not a "state of the art" office by any means, but do not be turned off by it. It's a good old fashion Dr. office, which is truly the best for kids. Yes, there have been times I've waited awhile, but they have been few and far in between. And even though it may be frustrating to wait a long time, you have to understand that these Dr's DO NOT rush you out of the room. They take as much time as you need in the room with you and answer all your questions. So, for the few negative comments about the long wait, I would say, put yourself in the other mom or dad's shoes...we all have young kids...what if yous child was having a difficult medical problem...wouldn't you appreciate that the Dr. took time with you and your child? We don't all just go to see the Dr. for the basic routine exams, unfortunately. My daughter has had a few more "serious" problems and I am so glad that all of these Dr's spent so much time with us to help us correct the problems!! I would recommend this office to anyone! BEST doctor's office in town! We originally wanted to have our child go see Dr. Gee-Lew based off of Yelp recommendations, but found out that they didn't accept HMO's. So...we chose what we felt was an acceptable doctor...I don't even remember the Dr's name, but his office was down off of Fletcher Parkway. HORRIBLE practice. Imagine our delight when we finally had a PPO! We switched at the first opportunity we had, and have been there ever since. I have 4 young children. Ages 4, 6, 8, & 10. We have been going here for years. (Well, at least 10 ). Dr. Krause is our primary doctor but we have seen every doctor there and love them all. Dr. Krause is patient, friendly, and always take the time to listen and answer any questions. I have never, in 10 years, had any issues with the office. Sometimes there can be a little bit of a wait but I believe it's worth it, and it doesn't always happen. Dr. Krause always personally calls me back within a descent amount of time if I'm having an issue at home. The front staff is great. Always has us laughing. Sylvia is just the best!!!! Best of all, they trust my gut instinct. If I think something is going on, they check it out. Just love this office! Hope we never have to change. Also, LOVE that they moved the office!! I love this office. Dr. Sepulveda is a great pediatrician. I previously had my son at childrens primary and it was a mess. They were very unorganized and it was always a long wait even when you had an appointment so I started looking for a new doctor. Being that I have a PPO I can go anywhere so after I read the reviews here I decided to bring him. I've never had any issues in the past 4 years of bringing him. Dr. Sepulveda and his staff always make my son feel comfortable. When my son had a possible issue with his leg dr Sepulveda went out of his way to communicate with children's hospital to get all the tests done. Luckily he was fine and had no issues. I go out of my way to drive here even though it's not close to my house. read more

When our nearly-two-year-old daughter was about to be born we realized we had completely spaced choosing a pediatrician for her. Since we live in North Park, we started Googling and Yelping the doctors that were on the handout from my OBGYN and came across Dr. Gee-Lew's practice. We gave them a call and Dr. Gee-Lew called us back personally to chat and say hello. We figured they sounded knowledgeable and personable, and we could change doctors later if we needed to, so we signed up. Once the baby was born, Dr. Sepulveda was the first on rounds at Mary Birch and we were super impressed with how he interacted with both us and her. We saw him once again, then on day three, we met Dr. Gee-Lew and she was an absolute peach. We've been back ever since for all of the baby's well-child visits, once sick visit, and at least three middle-of-the-night after hours calls to the answering service that have all been returned within fifteen minutes by the doctor on call. Baby has seen Dr. Gee-Lew every visit with the exception of our scheduling failure for one that led to seeing Dr. Krause, who was the one doctor we hadn't yet met in person-- yep, still awesome. :) We love this practice so much, we pulled our 14-year-old son from his old Kaiser team and started bringing him to see Dr. Sepulveda last year. Receptionists are super friendly, staff is very, very kind. The wait at first was sometimes longer than is strictly entertaining, specifically in the late afternoon, but it seems as though lately this hasn't been an issue. Office isn't fancy, but I kind of love it, and I love having an actual relationship with not just the doctors but the staff. Being new to San Diego, we were referred to this practice by a neighborhood group. I was impressed that Dr. Gee-Lew called to speak with me directly, and made an appointment to bring in my two year old to meet the doctors. Our appointment was for 9a, and we arrived early since I knew I'd have to complete paperwork. I was a little surprised to find out that I was seeing Dr. Krause, and when 9a rolled around, she was not yet in the office. After about 15 minutes, a nurse moved us into a room and said she would be right in, she was dropping her daughter off at school. A little over 10 minutes passed and still no doctor. By this point, my two year old was getting very irritable and when I went to ask the staff if they knew when we would see the doctor, they said they would try to call her. The nurse that showed us into the room said she sent her a message, and by this time it was 930a - 30 minutes past our appointment. I finally said we couldn't wait any longer and left. The staff didn't seem to care - indicating that this happens often. I will not be returning to this office and will never recommend this practice to anyone. Absolutely horrible! We have two children. One with two medical conditions. All three doctors at this practice are amazing. Because of my daughters medical conditions we often have to swing by for testing, they always accomodate and one time even kept the place open a bit late to wait for us. They call you back immediately. My daughter is terrified of doctors because of all of the time she logged at Rady's with catheters, anestesia, etc. And Dr. Sepulveda is the only doctor who can touch her without her shaking terribly. When we tell her she is going to the doctor she demands that we take her to the nice one (Dr. S). The nurses and staff are amazing. They fill her doctor bag with supplies and shower her with love. They have a gift with children. This is an old school practice where love, kindness, and time beat the insurance carrier world. We have never been rushed there (so be patient if they are running behind, it's typically because the mom before is asking a lot of questions!). They will fit your kid in no matter what, they will make time if your child is sick. We moved to Poway and this practice is downtown. There is NO CHANCE I will leave them. I drive my children from Poway to downtown for every visit (which for us is more than a typical child) because I believe their care is the best care out there. Was originally going to visit a pediatrician recommended by a friend of mine, but after meeting all three of the docs at the hospital after my daughter was born, we decided to go with this practice. We particularly liked Dr Gee Lew. Today was our "2 month" visit which actually occurred at 2.5 months because I pushed to finally have an appt with Gee Lew after being pawned off on Dr Krause for the first two visits. The wait in the tiny, loud reception area is 45 minutes minimum, and the one time I actually called to ask a question (during office hours mind you) I did not get a call back for over 24 hours. Today was the last straw, as my baby was there for her shots and after our ridiculously long wait - with only 2 other patients waiting - Dr GL was grabbing for her purse after literally 5 minutes with us. I forced her to answer all my questions as she edged her way out of the room so her nurse could administer the shots. What a disappointing experience. This will absolutely be our last visit. read more

We love Dr. Ghee-lew and her team of doctors! We have been patients since August and have had the best experience. The office is always available and ready to see the kiddos in an emergency. They are open on Saturdays, and we have been there more than once at the end of office hours. The new space is especially nice and parking in readily available. LOVE this practice-great Service by all pediatricians-our primary is Dr.Sepulveda and he is GREAT! Patient, thorough and willing to answer all of my 100 questions! Their after hour doctor access is efficient and reliable. Don't be fooled by the shabby building and outdated offices. along with their "old school" location/building comes their "old school" attention to every patient/parent and don't ever seem to be in a hurry to get to their next number...hhmmm I mean patient. The office staff is just as great and they seem to know everyone by name! The reason for the 4 vs.5 star is the inconsistant wait time. Part of having the doctors answer all of your questions and not make you feel rushed, also means you may have to wait a while sometimes if the parent before you had several concerns/questions. My kids, now 14 and 18 years old, were treated by Dr. Gee-Lew from birth until becoming adults (the 14 year old is still with her). The doctor and her staff are wonderful, and the doctors standing in for her on her days off are great too! Dr. Gee-Lew is caring and knowledgeable, and she shows a genuine interest in our family. The office is not fancy, but if you are looking for great care, this is the place. We lived near the office when we first met Dr. Gee-Lew, but have lived in North County for the past 12 years and drive to this practice (a very long drive) rather than change doctors. We have been patients here for over 5 years. Brought my son in when he was 6 days old and the same with my daughter. They have never seen any other Pediatricians. Drs Krauss, Sepulveda and Geelew are the consummate pediatricians, patient with both the kids and the parents. Their staff is second to none, professional, incredibly friendly and wonderful with kids. We had a problem with Blue Shield that literally took at least 6 mo this to fix, beginning when my daughter was born. They never turned us away for anything (newborns need a lot of care!!) and their billing person was so helpful in helping me resolve the issue. We found them on a recommendation from the pediatrician who monitored my son at the hospital (after he was born). I was so worried about picking the right doctor for my baby boy, my first baby only deserves the best of course! After having a bad expririence with Sharp Pediatrics, I did some additonal research and came across this office with Dr. Gee. She is not only professinal, but very friendly and knowledgable and loves children. The entire staff is very helping, never in a bad mood, always complimenting how adorable and good my son is which of course makes me all warm and fuzzy inside :) All the other pediatricians are also equally amazing and caring and the office is clean and bright and they attend you immediately at your appt time.
