I had a horrible experience with Dr Sklar. my daughter and I had gone for a consultation with Liz…read more She was lovely and thoroughly reviewed everything with us. we were very nervous about getting lip fillers for the first time so wanted to be extremely conservative. Liz suggested doing 1/2 a unit and said we can always add more. Unfortunately she was booked up for over a month so she suggested having sklar do it. Well, when we arrived for our appointment 2 weeks later, he abruptly directly the nurse what he was going to do, which was completely different from what we discussed with Liz at our consultation. He was using a different product and was using twice as much as we discussed at the consultation. . when I said I really wasn't comfortable with that he said "that's what we are doing". I asked if he would speak to Liz and he raced out of the room. Liz returned and agreed with what we had discussed. Dr Sklar then came back to the room with a different product than the first but still not the one that Liz recommended. I asked if he was going to do the 1/2 unit of filler in our lips and he said "no, we are doing a full unit". at that point I said I wasn't comfortable having him do it. I told him I didn't want a full unit because I didn't want it overdone and he said that is what he is doing. at that point, I said I wasn't comfortable with him injecting us. He began yelling at me and left the room. I asked the nurses if Liz could do it instead, but Dr sklar wouldn't allow her to do so. Mind you, my daughter and I had already gotten numb, so that was fine for nothing. Dr Sklar is an extremely nasty man who was condescending and disrespectful merely because I asked to do what was discussed with his PA in a consultation. it's my body, I should be able to put what I want in it and not be told that I had to put the product he wanted and more than what I was comfortable with. Steer clear of Dr Sklar!

I was gardening during the Pandemic when a huge wooden splinter from my picnic table went…read moreunderneath my nail. The splinter broke off in the MIDDLE of my finger UNDER THE NAIL. The was no way to reach it. I made an appointment at Urgent care in the area. The doctor at urgent care attempted to work on my splinter without anesthesia. He shoved forceps under my tiny finger nail without even cleaning my finger with alcohol first. He pushed the splinter further in. I couldn't bare the pain and fainted. The following day, after calling 14 doctors in the area, I finally found Dr. Sklar was open, working and took my insurance. I was VERY LUCKY to get an appointment on the same day. Even behind his mask I could tell Dr. Sklar knew what he was doing. He is not super chatty - he is the kind of doctor I love - EXPERIENCED and GETS DOWN TO BUSINESS without too much fuss. I was nervous and in pain but immediately felt at ease when he told me the game plan to remove the splinter. He used a strong lidocaine that numbed my finger. After that he gave me two (2) shots right at my finger tip and the finger was numb in SECONDS. He quietly and QUICKLY removed the spliter without any pain whatsoever. His nurses and receptionist were wonderful and made me feel extremely comfortable even though we were all wearing masks. This is a doctor that I trust and will go back to if/when I need a dermatolotogist. Thank you for taking care such good care of me when I was in so much pain and quite concerend my finger would become infected. It's healing beautifully and I didn't lose my nail.
