I voiced my frustration to the receptionist about my current visit and past visits, and her response was that is how it is and if I told the doctor he wouldn't care. I couldn't get a question in either since she just kept repeating the same thing and she was obviously in a huge rush. When I made the amount, the medical assistant on the phone told me that when I arrive for the appt., park the car, stay in the car and call the office so they know you have arrived & have your phone number. The medical assistant called back after 10 minutes and told me that I could go to the office. There were 3 chairs outside Dr. Layne's office. The chairs were socially distance from one another. The assistant came out of the office & told me to sign in & then she took my temperature which was 98.6. I return to my chair. The wait was about 20 minutes and I was called to go into the examination room followed by Dr. Layne. She wrote down the required information that I gave her. I was weighed & examined by the doctor. She told me that I had irritable bowl syndrome & that I was to keep a 6 week dairy of everything that I ate. She told me the food & beverages that I could not eat or drink. Dr. Layne sent me up to the Northwell Labs for blood work. I was relieved that I finally had taken action & I was in the hands of Dr. Layne who was calm and I definitely feel that both she and I will put an end to my misery.
