Dr. Mintz came recommended to my family many years ago. From the very first visit, I knew Dr…read more Mintz was the primary physician I wanted to use. He took the time to sit with me, listen to me, and got to know me. He is very thorough with all his exams, even goes that extra mile "just in case." Most doctors don't take the time to listen. They are already thinking about the next patient. Not Dr. Mintz. You are his main priority when he is in the room. The office personnel are so helpful and caring, as well. If there is a problem with insurance or paperwork, they will take the time to walk you through on what to do. The nursing staff is well trained and there is never a problem with them taking blood or doing the pre-testing. I recommend this office to anyone that is looking for an internist. And if you are reading this, Dr. Mintz, thank you taking care of my family for so long! You are the best!

I was there for almost 2 hours and would have been there longer if I didn't walk out while waiting for the doctor to come back into the room. I voiced my frustration to the receptionist about my current visit and past visits, and her response was that is how it is and if I told the doctor he wouldn't care. I like Dr. P but the lack of regard for people's time is making me consider switching doctors.

Now that I've had an MRI with and without contrast that shows that is not the case (I only know from a visit to my PCP this week), I literally cannot get an appointment to figure out what's going on, and why I have a bunch of new symptoms. The office staff are very nice, but they don't answer phones. You can leave a message and get a call back, however I have left three messages without a callback. Their preferred method of communication is via email, and in the past they have responded quickly. Now my emails have gone unanswered. I haven't been able to get an appointment to even discuss the test results. I'm a good patient. I eat well and exercise. I'm polite. I'm always on time for appointments. I feel foolish for waiting 45 minutes to an hour or more in the waiting room for years, for every appointment. If they would have had the courtesy to just send an email stating I'm no longer a patient there I wouldn't have written a review. Instead, I waited months to hear back. Shame on them! My PCP prescribed medication renewals since I had run out of most. I have an appointment with a new endocrinologist coming up in August. Had I realized I'd been dropped, I would have sought a new endocrinologist sooner since it takes months to get those appointments. I look forward to a new level of professionalism since I have another specialist in the new endocrinologist's office, and she is wonderful. I feel like an idiot for not giving up sooner. Shame on me. And thank God for my PCP.

After visiting another GI doctor that only partially examined me, she had me do lactose and gluten tolerance tests. Lactose intolerance was very high. That's one problem solved! When I made the amount, the medical assistant on the phone told me that when I arrive for the appt., park the car, stay in the car and call the office so they know you have arrived & have your phone number. The medical assistant called back after 10 minutes and told me that I could go to the office. There were 3 chairs outside Dr. Layne's office. The chairs were socially distance from one another. The assistant came out of the office & told me to sign in & then she took my temperature which was 98.6. I return to my chair. The wait was about 20 minutes and I was called to go into the examination room followed by Dr. Layne. She wrote down the required information that I gave her. I was weighed & examined by the doctor. She told me that I had irritable bowl syndrome & that I was to keep a 6 week dairy of everything that I ate. She told me the food & beverages that I could not eat or drink. Dr. Layne sent me up to the Northwell Labs for blood work. I was relieved that I finally had taken action & I was in the hands of Dr. Layne who was calm and I definitely feel that both she and I will put an end to my misery.
