He's a big believer in the power of Vitamin D and testing for food allergies. Both of these things can be life-changing, if it turns out that it applies to you. Food allergy test runs $500 out of pocket, and there is a very good chance you have food allergies and don't know it. Nonetheless, this is a whole lot more integrative than my last doctor, who clearly stopped thinking a long time ago. Dr F has his fingers on the pulse, at least from this perspective, and is worth seeing, at least from this perspective. I did have one other problem, which he sent me (again) for expensive testing "just to be sure," which (again) turned up nothing and I probably should have just waited it out. errr... i can't remember the last time I went in for a checkup and the doc didn't check my 'jewels' out. He didn't; I self exam and didn't ask, but I did notice this. I don't know how he is with things like acute problems, but I imagine he'd refer you to a specialist. Even with insurance, the bill for my blood tests was over $500, and that includes over $200 for a lyme disease test, for example, which is totally unnecessary I think. This is the most confusing bill.. total charges near $3000 but all this insurance nonsense and then it's like "oh wow I don't have to pay $3000, just $500" and it seems like a deal. eh?

Frequently hard to get a hold of and the instructions I received for my food allergies weren't specific to me. I'm allergic to red grapes and she told me green would be fine. Not true. I'm not even sure what that was based on. I would suggest visiting them for a thorough round of testing and then after receiving your results take them to another doctor. My new one is much better about follow-up and I know I can count on her.

Or sure- I go and do the obligatory physical every year with all the corresponding tests, but I've yet to find a doctor that I want to have a long term relationship with. Well- that all changed the other day when I visited Dr. Sachtleben. So what made me change my mind? First of all- his office squeezed me in even though I wasn't a regular patient. Much appreciated given I was sick and needed some help. Secondly- this guy listens. Took the time to hear why I was there all the while typing what I said into his computer so that he could refer back to it. We talked about a wide range of things and what I liked is that he did not offer up the standard doctor lines about things. There is always more than one way to solve an issue and Dr. Sachtleben subscribes to that theory. All in all- not only did he solve my health issue- but he built my trust which is what I ask for in someone who is going to partner with me on my health. He came recommended to me by another doctor that I know and trust and I feel good about recommending him here. Now if I could only learn to pronounce his name properly!!

It was as if I was talking to a person that had another 100 people to get through & wasn't happy about it. Basic questions about some of the intake procedures were treated as an annoyance. Received no call back from anyone that could give me clarity. They don't do that until appt is scheduled. I get it. Not sure who's managing billing/ops end of the store--it seems the back end of the shop operates in a way that does not serve the Dr--at least publicly. Never made the appt--total bummer. Was really looking forward to seeing him--the initial intake call showed a person disinterested in me as a human being.

I LOVE DR ROBERT!!!…read more I have been seeing the team here for 6 years. I have been Type 1 Diabetic since I was 9. Once I moved to Chicago, I was so glad to find the team here. Dr Robert is so great. So many doctors I have seen in the past treat the disease, chastise the patient, and get little result. Dr Robert treats the whole person. AMAZING. The lab is in his office. Everything is done right away. He personally writes follow-up notes a week or two after your visit. WHO DOES THIS ANYMORE??? Amazing. His Diabetes Educator/Nutritionist/GURU Monica is the best. I love her and would follow her anywhere. She is direct, honest, and insighful. I give it a 4 because the front desk people can be rough. THe lady who worked here for a long time retired and the new people just aren't her. If you are diabetic, see these people.
