My son has been going to Berkeley since he was 2 after his in home Daycare lady retired. So I have had experiences with three different "rooms" and have interacted with all of the teachers and staff to some degree.
First of all - they are all great. The teachers and staff all really care about these kids and have incredible patience, kindness and dedication. They focus on age appropriate activities and crafts, and give the kids plenty of outdoor time to run and play and socialize.
They also started doing a "Parents Night Out" about once a month where you get 4-5 hours to run around with your spouse and do adult things, it's nice. Meanwhile, your child is in a familiar environment, with people they know, and are entertained with fun crafts, usually a movie, and fun pizza and snacks. The rate is very reasonable, totally recommend.
Lastly, there is a lot of parent involvement. You al kind of get to know each other and it is a nice little community. There is a FB page, which helps with communication, but if there is a GAP, this is where it is. There are times when communication isn't done well and some people have to hear about things by word of mouth, or from a note sent home "after the fact." Other than this area for improvement, I really don't have any complaints. If I were to have another child, I would def take them here from the "get-go." read more
