This is a wonderful place to bring the whole family. They have about 12 different trails, all…read moreseparated in different levels of difficulty. The trails are free to enter but they do request for volunteer donation for non members. Different tiers of annul membership available to purchase at main office that comes with some wonderful perks, such as free access to trails and special events. The main office also has some of the exhibition items like insect box and turtle box. Outside the office there's also bird and butterfly cages. We went to the center for our daughter to participate in butterfly feeding event. Upon arrival we found out we had to buy the tickets for one of the two scheduled events. Luckily there were slots available to the second event on the day. The ticket was reasonably cheap, only $8. It also came with an additional bird's exhibition that took place right in front of office deck. All the stuff members were very friendly, informative and interactive. We spent wonderful couple of hours here on beautiful warm summer day.

Finally the center did not provide a study plan nor did they ever provide areas of weakness to focus on. I would never recommend this center for any sort of exam prep. Again, the tutors were fine but there are other review centers with good tutors and much much better service/organization. Stay away unless you intend to also help your child test prep.

As a result, Kumon was her first study time with a teacher in-person. After serveral classes at Kumon, she learned how to read and write alphabets. I know my son and I know that all the thanks is for kumon and for Ms Desiree who is on the top of every single detail, she is very passionate about what she does and sincerely her number one priority is the students, I actually asked her to pick up and drop off the work with out him having to go there and I was going to still be paying the same amount but to my surprise she is the one who advised against it with my son, she told me that they do that with kids that she knows they are in a certain level of academics and discipline. If you think about it she could have just let it go I'm the parent offering and its just one less student and less staff will be needed but no she thought about what's best for my son not for the business. Hi My children are…read moreages 11 and 12 and both are enrolled in Kumon Closter. My wife and I are both Ivy League educated and have Doctorates. Both our children hail from local private schools and we live in the area. I have had both children enrolled in different after school tutoring and advanced educational programs for years. I must say that I am very happy with Kumon's old school nuts and bolts way of teaching. The children master the basics and then progressively advance toward Calculus. Math is Math and many of the newer methodologies of teaching attempt to avoid the mandatory work that must be done to succeed in Math. These new style methodologies attempt to explain the concepts with "modeling" or "estimation" as a way to avoid the real and necessary work to attain excellence in Math. You cannot cheat the work, Math is Math and doing it again and again, recognizing your mistakes, correcting your errors and accepting the task is the only way.
