I completed the TestMasters online course. In short, if you want the highest quality test preparation, TestMasters should be your choice. I increased my score by 24 points from diagnostic to official test result. My TestMasters tutor, Debra Freeman, was indispensable, particularly on logical reasoning, which by test day was my strongest section. Debra can succinctly explain why an LR answer choice is wrong and why the right answer choice is right. She is supportive yet direct in her feedback, has an expert's grasp of the test's nuances and patterns, and teaches you to think logically about each question and passage. Over time, Debra helps you to view the LSAT as a manageable (even interesting) endeavor, rather than something to fear. She is a master of her craft and anyone seeking to maximize their potential on this test would be well served to enlist her help. I just finished my last class for the Live Online Course for the June 2023 LSAT. I take the LSAT in two weeks and feel beyond prepared. My instructor, Michael La Masse, was incredible. My course was from 6-9pm on Tuesdays, and I was worried I would be inattentive and tired from a full day of school. Michael made it the exact opposite. He was able to teach us everything we needed to know, answer any questions, and keep us laughing the whole class. The homework kept me on a structured schedule and challenged me to learn even more. I raised my LSAT score from 158 to 175 - thanks to the Testmasters resources and my instructor Dave Ganin. I took the live course in preparation for the January 2020 exam (it took place twice weekly for 2 months leading up to test date) and the course was invaluable in setting me up with the right tools to approach each section of the exam. Dave's classroom environment was great for learning how to take the test - I always felt comfortable raising my hand to ask questions when I was confused about a concept, and Dave took the time to explain the answers in ways that addressed my confusion. I haven't taken any other courses, so I can't compare, but I found Dave's/ Testmaster's approach to the LSAT to be very clear and coherent. The online resources were user-friendly and the weekly homework kept me on a good study schedule. There are detailed explanations for each question and a very responsive support team to answer questions when you need to talk to a human. The practice tests are formatted the same way as the actual digital test; which I found helpful to get comfortable with the format so there were no surprises on test day. I didn't do ANY prep prior to taking the Testmasters course, as I wanted to make sure I learned how to take the test the right way, from the beginning. The course is very well designed to explain the entire LSAT in a comprehensive manner. Because I started studying when I took the course (combined with the fact that I was studying while I had a full-time job) I knew that I was never going to take the January exam. I wanted to take the course to learn the concepts, and then spend some time after the course taking practice tests to really make sure I was prepared for the exam. For me, Testmasters fit into my plan for studying really well. A word of advice if you do take the same approach as me (starting with the class, and then studying on your own before the test): the TestMasters online resources (practice tests, learning Odysseys, explanation videos, and 24/7 live support) are only available until the test date that your course is designed for. For me, all of the online resources expired in January, even though I had no intention of taking the January exam. In order to keep access to the online resources, you have to pay $450 a month (at least, as of June 2020 - it's possible that it has increased since I checked). TestMasters is hands down the best prep course to prepare for the LSAT. I enrolled in the September 2019 exam course which was taught by Dave Ganin and meet once a week starting about two and half months out from the exam (While some classes meet two times a week on a more accelerated schedule, I highly recommend the longer, slower schedule). Dave was a great instructor; he was highly articulate with his explanations, professional, and very approachable. I ultimately decided to skip the September exam and wait for the October exam. To extend my access to online prep materials cost an extra $200 dollars, but the extra fee is to be expected and the materials are invaluable (more detail below). In the end I scored a 170, up seven points from my previous score. I could not be more excited with my score. Having previously taken an abysmal LSAT course (rhythms with Maplan), I had something to juxtapose TestMasters with and saw the value the course immediately. The quality of TestMasters starts with their layered, skill-building approach. It was not like my last course where we jumped right into how to approach an assumption question on the first day, TestMasters starts from the ground and builds up. This is critically important as it allows you to holistically grasp questions. For instance, on logical reasoning, I started being able to eliminate trap answers by recognizing the small but significant differences in key words and phrases (primarily, not all, because of, not many etc.). You will not learn these skills if all your focus goes into just compartmentalizing how to approach specific question types, which seems to be the goal of other test prep courses. Secondly, and most importantly as to why I give TestMasters five stars, is their online resources. The vast majority of your learning will not be in the classroom, but at home when doing practice problems. TestMasters has literally thousands of practice problems. Each week you are given a set of homework problems that focus on reiterating what you did in class. Once you finish those homework problems you have access to more supplemental problems. If you finish those, there is an entire database of more problems broken down by question type. I did so many problems that by the time I took the October Test there were a few questions where I predicted the answer almost verbatim. Having access to such a seemingly unlimited number of problems was invaluable. All in all I would recommend TestMasters to anyone preparing for the LSAT. YOU have to be the one to put in the effort and grind through the problems, but they provide the tools and resources to do so every step of the way. read more

As an LSAT prep class, Testmasters is pretty good. I cannot compare it to others as I only used testmasters. I raised my score from a 160 to a 166. Their materials are great while you are in the course - emphasis on "while". Once you end the class (which might only be 8 weeks) you immediately lose access to all of the materials. When I took the course in 2019 I was asked to pay $350 per month to extend my access. After already paying $1650 for the class I thought this was a bit ridiculous bu potentially worthwhile. That cost has since increased to $450 per month. If you plan to use testmasters, make sure you finish the class when you want to take the LSAT, otherwise you could be out an extra $450-900 qucikly. Also, don't believe all the 170+ LSAT score reviews on here. While they are legit, Testmasters calls individuals who score over 170 to ask them to write a review. I got a 166 and received no call. I'm pleased with my score (93rd percentile) but I think it is a bit shady and misleading to pick and choose your reviewers and only have the highest scores review you. There's a reason all the reviews on here are 4-5 stars and have great scores, and it's not because everyone who takes the class gets a 170+. I took a live course in Manhattan with David Ganin. Dave is a great LSAT instructor. He's very knowledgeable about the material, and his engaging personality makes the test, which is famously dull, fun to learn. He's also able to give personal notes and encouragement throughout the process. During my studying, I scored FIVE straight 162s. This was very discouraging, and Dave helped me out by keeping me motivated to break through the plateau. I broke through, scored a 167 on the test, and have already been accepted to law school, and even offered a full ride. I recommend Testmasters and Dave! read more

Just got a 171 LSAT score back yesterday, and I had to write in this review as soon as I could, because the Testmasters prep course had everything to do with my 11-point improvement from first diag to test day. Dave Ganin was my instructor for the live course in Manhattan. Dave struck a great balance between communicating a mastery of the material on the one hand, and finding a sense of humor and play in the learning process on the other. Seriously, some of the questions are kind of funny when you stop to think about them. I would strongly recommend the live classroom course, because checking in with Dave and the other students twice a week, for 4-hour classes, was invaluable in keeping me on track. You'll spend time going over new concepts, doing questions in class, and then having in-depth discussions of every answer (including basically every wrong answer choice too, which is key). If you take the course, I would really recommend sticking to the advice your instructor will give about focusing on learning the fundamentals in the beginning. Essentially, the exam will test your ability to think logically, quickly. Before you get to the "quick" part, take the time to run the drills that the Testmasters curriculum provides for you. Go over the concepts you're taught, and practice them with the untimed questions assigned online. Watch the explanation videos. The course is excellently designed, and if you start out this way, then once you start taking diagnostics (about a month into the 2.5 month course), you find that difficult concepts come to you more quickly. The course had me often finishing LSAT sections well ahead of time by the end. I want to make sure I touch on the online material, because the website material blew me away. You will be assigned A LOT of homework. Really, you need to clear a bunch of time away to do as much of this as you can. That said, I only finished 80% of the homework by test day (and only about 40% of the supplemental questions), and felt like I had definitely prepped enough. Don't destroy yourself, but do be prepared to put in 2-3 times the amount of time you spend in class on homework. Online is also where you will become friends with the one-and-only Robin Singh, truly an LSAT legend. Robin is the head honcho of the Testmasters LSAT prep course (and company overall?). Initially, he comes across as kind of a surfer-guru. Make no mistake. This man knows his stuff - after all, he has more perfect LSAT scores than anyone in history (12!?!). Even better, he's really adept at explaining the material. I watched Robin's explanations for a TON of the practice questions, and they really helped. Especially on the Logic Games. A lot of people rave about the 7Sage Logic Game videos, which I think are pretty good, but no longer free. However, I would say that Robin's explanations are much more helpful and thorough than any 7Sage video I watched. He'll spend half an hour on some Logic Games, with lucid, dependable approaches. Logic Games was the section I was most concerned about going into the course, absolutely bombing it on my first diagnostic. On test day, it was the section I was most confident about, thanks to Testmasters. And yes, if you want to go all the way on Logic Games (or LR&RC), there is an enormous ODYSSEY of Logic Games you can go through on the website in addition to the huge number of games that are assigned as homework. I really can't recommend Testmasters enough. As long as you're willing to do your part and put your nose to the grindstone, this course will provide everything you need to see you through to a happy result for your law school applications! Good luck! And as they say in "the biz," don't forget to lock down the ran! P.S. I saw "Lauren M.'s" 1-star review based on the "thin" online content. I don't know what she's smoking, because the online content is insanely thorough. It's so insanely thorough I'm more than willing to bet that you WILL NOT FINISH IT ALL by test day. Loved my testmasters course. I went from a 153 on my first diagnostic to achieving a 163 on test day. I believe that Testmasters was instrumental in this success, and here is why: First of all, the online material is a gold mine for the ambitious student. Second of all, there were over 20 diagnostics that we could download and take ourselves, as well as individual sections which were EXCELLENT for helping me in my areas of need. Third, the class structure is excellent and the lessons really helped me make sense of even the most convoluted LSAT questions. Lastly, I had an excellent instructor named Dave Ganin who really made the course enjoyable. Dave kept us laughing and kept us on our toes. TestMasters provided a huge boost to my LSAT prep and I cannot stress how much I would recommend the course! Between the in person and online instruction, it is safe to say that this course is the most detailed course that one could take for LSAT preparation. Students who are willing to commit the time and fully invest in the LSAT methodology Robin and TestMasters have created will benefit immensely. Even though I was working full time in a job that was rather inflexible, I was able to fit TestMasters into my schedule through the course and exercises online (which supplies an absurd amount of practice material that was super helpful). Instructors are top-notch and really care about you as a student. Marrissa did a great job helping me to work through logic games, an area that I struggled on specifically. She spent extra time speaking with me over email and really gave me amazing advice that had huge impact on my actual score. I used the testmasters online course and saw significant improvement in my overall score. On practice tests, my score improved around 16 points (I.e. 16 point improvement from my first practice to my best practice a few months later -- on other practice tests, score improved around 13 points on average). On the actual November 2018 LSAT, my score improved 11 points from my first diagnostic, so it dipped a bit on test day compared to my practice tests, but still happy with my improvement overall. It took my awhile before I saw improvement in my score but then once i started using one of the testmasters tutors in addition to the class, I made a big jump. I ended up taking the LSAT twice, and used Dave as my tutor in addition to the class, who was fantastic and super helpful. I imagine the other tutors are great as well. Online Academic support team for answering questions is also really helpful -- any questions are answered online within 24 hours by one of the tutors and explanations provided are always very thorough, and you can always ask follow up questions for further clarity. I even once had a tutor offer to speak over the phone for one of the harder topics I was struggling with, and that was super helpful. Overall would recommend this LSAT course to anyone and so long as you stick to the curriculum and are disciplined with the homework I think most people will see success. I don't know much about other popular LSAT courses but I was very happy with the result I had with this class. read more

The Manhattan course was awesome. Remy did a fantastic job, and the prep materials were extremely useful. I don't think any course could have possibly prepared me better for the LSAT, and I'm glad I chose this one. Excellent teaching, excellent homework, excellent systems for approaching this challenging test. There are some significant caveats: First, Testmasters does a poor job of accommodating students who have been approved by the LSAC for extended time. The company advertises six proctored diagnostic exams, but students with time-and-a-half or double time cannot make use of this resource. Its "virtual proctor" -- a glorified web-based stopwatch -- is an inadequate substitute, particularly when one considers that Testmasters' tuition is $1,650, that its proctors are paid only $60 per exam, and that it does not even offer a rebate to affected students. Sacrificing the experience of students with disabilities to save pennies on the dollar is corner-cutting at its most cartoonish extreme. Second, when I attempted to log into my Testmasters account the day after my March LSAT, I found a troubling message: "Your online access has expired. If you would like to extend your access until the next LSAT administration, the renewal fee is $550." It appears that upon completion of each Testmasters course, its students are are immediately locked out of their completed diagnostic exams or homework, essential references for any whom need to re-take or re-schedule their exam. While I'm fortunate that my LSAT went well, no student should be compelled to pay such an exorbitant ransom to simply view their completed work. Testmasters is probably within its rights to exert such draconian control over its materials, but a practice does not need to be against the law to be wholly ignoble. This company has clearly put together a great prep course and achieved remarkable success in hiring and training good teachers. But while it's reasonable for any business to avoid unnecessary costs and protect its intellectual property, Testmasters engages in such egregious corner-cutting and overprotective behavior that it ultimately makes itself look bad. While I'll still recommend the course to anyone, I hope that Testmasters resolves its glaring flaws. Six stars out of five for Remy. Five stars out of five for the curriculum. 10/10. The LSAT prep program at Testmasters is world class. They provide students with access to every official LSAT question released by LSAC. Along with offering well over 20 practice tests, their course is structured to emphasize core fundamental concepts well before students are expected to successfully tackle questions. Unsurprisingly, a strong fundamental understanding of the concepts and templates used by LSAC to generate their questions is crucial to maximizing performance. Testmasters does a fantastic job of preparing their students to see beyond the question's content which is almost always irrelevant and superficial, and instead focus on the underlying composition of the question type. Just like that the LSAT becomes a rotating series of question types as opposed to dizzying number of unique, one-off questions. I had the pleasure of learning from an extraordinary teacher, Dave Ganin. Yes, his mastery of the LSAT is impressive. On that point though I am sure he is not alone. Dave distinguishes himself as an exceptional teacher for two reasons. First, he has a great ability to explain complex concepts concisely and clearly. Most importantly though, he has a quality that great teachers of all kinds share: he truly cares about maximizing his students' potential. When he recognized that my struggles were not with the LSAT concepts themselves but with an overarching performance anxiety that clouded my mind, he focused on helping me exorcise those demons. I took a course with TestMasters for the February 2017 LSAT and I cannot speak highly enough of them. I was consistently impressed by the quality and thoroughness of their instruction and materials, both of which were crucial in equipping me with the skills I needed going into the test. Marissa Custren, my instructor, was, quite frankly, perfect. She knew the course material like the back of her hand and reliably bestowed on us a clarity through her explanations that's not easy to come by when studying for the LSAT. She stripped away any intimidation we may have felt and made the whole thing approachable and beatable. A word of advice -- do not be passive in your studying. Do everything you can to not miss class, not miss practice tests, and not skip homeworks. The instruction is absolutely vital but perhaps equally as important is the reinforcement you get from reviewing test questions and watching/reading explanations outside of class. The resources you get through this course are unmatched elsewhere, so take that and run with it. You will thank yourself when test day comes around. read more

My teacher Dave was really thorough with all of his explanations and really encouraged as much participation as possible to force all of us to actively think about the test material. TestMasters only uses material from past LSATs, so you know you're getting the best possible material to study with. I think the most important thing about TestMasters is that the program ultimately requires one to put in the effort; they don't spoonfeed the lessons. They provide you the tools to be able to pursue success on your own outside the classroom, but TestMasters only promises you will do well if you put the work in. TestMasters was a huge asset--I jumped 10 points and felt so much better walking in to the test than I would have in any other situation. The teacher was amazing! David made people feel at ease, pushed us to study and practice, and made the four hours interesting and somehow even enjoyable. The program was structured in an intuitive way so I really felt myself learning and building on the concepts, getting better as we progressed. The materials gave me plenty to practice with on my own time so I could drill on my own level as well. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is location. I was promised the 42nd street facility but only after signing up for the class was I informed we would be bouncing around three locations, some of which were much farther from my work and required me to take additional travel time off. read more

Law school is one long term investment and it begins with the LSAT and the prep program that you decide on. I chose TestMasters for many reasons. First, I think that whether you do the program online or in a class setting, it is worth it. TestMasters teaches strategy through the question types rather than giving general advice and having it apply to the entire exam. The way that the program is set up is methodical and it really allows students to improve on certain question types or sections they might be struggling with. The main thing with studying for the LSAT, especially with TestMasters is that you have to dedicate a lot to it for it to work and for you to really see results. If you ask the instructors on the portal they will help you come up with a schedule and if you sign up for tutoring they will give you more of an individualized working schedule and help you figure out where exactly you need to work in. The instructors really do care about your growth with the test materials and are really enthusiastic about the material you are learning. Personally, I worked with Dave Ganin who really made me just look at the exam differently and was overall a great person and instructor to work with. From what I hear is that Dave does this with all of his students and he is extremely passionate about the exam. If you can get the chance to work with Dave (whether online or in-person), definitely take the opportunity because he is honest and he really cares about the student's progress. To me, there are three things that make TestMasters unique, and unlike any other program and furthermore, worth the price. First, the format of the program is portable and the ability to access it from anywhere, as long as you have Wifi and you can study. The second is the attention to detail on diagnostic testing after you complete a practice LSAT you are giving an entire analysis on each section and it shows where you can improve, explanations for the question you might've gotten wrong and how much time you spent on each question. This allows you to better structure your next study session. The third reason is that with the exam now being on a tablet, TestMasters mimics the format of the exam when you study and when you take practice exams, which while it may not seem like it, is a game-changer on test day. On test day you will not have to adjust to the format on the tablet, it will already be something that you are already used to which with everything that happens on test day in general, it will be good to feel comfortable with the software. The only downside to TestMasters is the cost, especially when considering the cost to re-enroll. I think that there should be less of a cost to re-enroll once you have already enrolled but otherwise, my experience with TestMasters was good. I did have to take the real LSAT more than once, my score from starting my LSAT journey to my final score on test day increased by 21 points. It takes a lot of work and practice but with the right work ethic and program you can get there. I recommend going with TestMasters! read more

TestMasters (TM) was instrumental to my LSAT success. I was incredibly fortunate to have Dave Ganin as my teacher for a Long Island class! Four hours twice a week may sound daunting, but Dave made the experience enjoyable. His enthusiasm for the material and dedication to each student made him an outstanding teacher. I don't have a yelp, but I loved this course so much that I'm using my sister's account to review them. I took the in person NYC course over the summer to prepare for the 2019 September LSAT. My baseline score was an embarrassing 149. After the course, I scored a 166 on the September LSAT, improving 17 points. I later was scoring in the 170s in every single practice diagnostic while I studied for my second exam in November. This course spread out the coursework in a very manageable way and gave us valuable skills that made the exam much easier to master. I just accepted my offer to Harvard Law School's class of 2023. I took the testmasters course this past summer with instructor Sam Rosenberg. First of all let me just say, studying for the LSAT is tough. It's a long, arduous and often frustrating process. Ultimately, how well you do is going to depend mostly on how much time you put into it. However, having a study plan and a good instructor will end up pushing your score up exponentially if you use it right. Testmasters' online tools and learning regiment are great -- providing endless practice problems and online explanations in the new digital format. For that, I give this review 2 stars. 2 more stars for Sam Rosenberg's teaching style. Frankly, he's damn good at this test. Working through problems with him, understanding his approach and incorporating it into my own helped me immensely. Plus he makes studying for the LSAT somehow bearable and even dare I say it fun at times. Fifth and final star for this review for the extra time and effort Sam put into making sure each student had individualized attention. He'd step out of court to run through a difficult logic game with me over FaceTime -- what a guy. All in all, can't recommend this enough. Remember though, ultimately your score will be a product of your own effort. Testmasters and Sam will only give you the tools to get there. read more

I highly recommend TestMasters for anyone who is serious about doing well on the LSAT. It is an extremely comprehensive, thought out and incredibly structured course that gives you EVERYTHING you need to do well on the test. It really does a great job at breaking down all the elements of the test so that you truly understand what each questions is asking. The online portal is an amazing resource with tons of study material, quizzes and explanations of the questions. The instructors are also beyond awesome. I cannot praise my teacher- Marissa enough. She was the best! She knows all the material inside out, she was great at explaining everything and she was always there to answer questions and give you some test taking strategies. Seriously the best class. I took the class for the June 2017 LSAT and it honestly couldn't have been a better way to prepare. The only thing to be mindful of is that you have access to A LOT of resources - which is AMAZING - but at the same time, make sure you have set aside the time in your schedule (whether you are a current student or working or else) to take advantage of everything. When I was taking the class, there were also a few opportunities to attend a class taught by Robin himself - pretty invaluable to say the least. Also, take Chloé Hurley. I took the Testmaster's 3-month class for LSAT exam on September 27th, 2014. I have to say that taking this program was a necessary and a great idea to do before taking the exam. From the experience of studying and taking the exam, I really do believe that one cannot study LSAT by himself because LSAT isn't based on memorizing and cramming but more on understanding and experiencing. And I had a great experience learning and understanding LSAT and its questions in the classes. Our instructor, Andrei Ignat, is an amazing instructor who really cares about how well his students do. He goes over as many questions as he can in a painstaking manner so that his students can understand what is going on in the questions. Furthermore, not only was the class instructive and concise, but it was also enjoyable and fun. Whenever I took a train heading to class, I always expected to have a good time smiling and laughing while learning LSAT, which is rare for a 4-hour class, because Andrei allowed us to have a good time while learning. Of course, while the instructor and the class structure may be very fundamental to one's improvement in the LSAT exam, the most important thing for one to do well in the exam is for him to just continuously do the homework and the practice exams daily. I am very thankful for all the practice exams and the real LSAT questions in the homework that Testmasters provided, because although my first initial practice exam was poor, I could see myself really improve week by week as I spent all my days doing as much homework as I can, as well as doing all the practice exams that were provided. So although Testmaster provides great instructors and instructive courses, the most important thing for students is to really do all the homework and the practice exams that are provided. read more

TestMasters is an incredible company with such a special product! I'll start with their customer service. When I was deciding which LSAT prep company would be right for me, the highest priority was finding a course that I could start in New York and then move to Texas midway through (where the company is ScorePerfect). A super patient person named Jennifer in their LA office talked me through all my options (as well as my neurotic LSAT anxiety... on two different calls) and ultimately I decided to start with the online course a month or so before beginning the in-class portion (I was eager about getting started sooner rather than later for the September test) and then all I would need to do is pay the difference for the in-class portion before it began. The online resources are just... WOW. Every single lesson, taught by Robin Singh, is available with more homework and supplemental questions (in every section) than I could have even imagined. The rumors are true: Robin is a remarkable teacher. Every single homework question has either him explaining the correct answer (video) or there is an extensive written explanation. I love that you can hear the students in class asking questions -it feels super organic (you feel like they are your classmates after a while.) And, as is sometimes the case for me, if you don't totally understand the written or video explanation, you can submit a question digitally to academic support. I often find just writing out my question in an intelligible way helps me find the solution! Once you submit, usually within a few hours if not less, one of TM's amazing instructors will answer your question with more info than you thought you needed. I remember when I got my first really good diagnostic score and one of the academic support team members said "first of all, congrats on your score!!!" before answering my question. Needless to say, this isn't some question-bot service; these are real amazing teachers... AND you get unlimited questions. The last thing I'll talk about before this gets too long and gushy is the in-class portion of the course. My first teacher, Jae, in Brooklyn was THE BEST. He took his job so seriously but not in an uptight way. His first priority was for us to learn and he really took the time to understand all of the different ways his students needed support. I would shirk away from logic games and in turn, rather than letting me talk myself into anguish, he would call on me more often when we were reviewing LG, gave me tons of strategy suggestions, and really just refused to let me give up. Before I left for Texas, he asked me to stay after class and we talked for a long time about how it was best for me to study and what kinds of concepts I really needed to meditate on. Then when I got to Texas, Dave was another awesome teacher. He was so fun and charismatic and really took the time to answer everyone's curious queries. He also gave such good LG advice that I felt like everything Jae had been saying came into focus once I put those pieces together. I ultimately decided to take the test in December after a few big personal things came up in the middle of studying so I'm back to the online course until then. I feel endlessly supported and I have no doubt I'm going to crush this test! read more

TestMasters gave me the tools I needed to master the material on the LSAT. The classroom setting really helped me learn the foundational skills like diagramming, formal logic and how to go about correctly reading/understanding the questions so that the exam became a challenging game instead of something super intimidating. Classes are a small size, so you get a lot of interaction with the instructor. Mine always went above and beyond to make sure everyone in the class understood the concepts and was on the same page before moving on to the next question or topic. She also made herself available outside of class for additional help and was super fast to respond at all times! I had a 12 point improvement in my score! I'm so glad I took the course. read more
