I knew I could do it, but that I'd need the best of the best, which is why I chose Erfun. Erfun doesn't just teach the content. He teaches you how to reason effectively through the different question-types. He understands exactly what the test-makers are measuring and structures his lessons and homework to make sure you understand how to think properly through the questions and how to practice what you learned in the right way. His system for tracking results is intuitive, and he was always able to customize the sessions to make sure we hit my "sweet spot" -- I never felt like what I was learning was too easy, and I also never felt like it was over my head. Erfun was truly in sync with my learning style and needs, and I truly believe it was this level of customization that made the difference in my score. I should also mention that I live in Houston, so we did online tutoring. It was seamless and actually made the tutoring sessions even more effective, since I was able to record all the sessions and didn't have to commute. After three months of working with Erfun, I scored 327 on my GRE and will be attending HBS. I genuinely don't believe I would've been able to accomplish this without his help. Thank you, Erfun!

I came to him feeling hopeless about the Quant, especially because I'd already taken a class. But he was able to dissect my weaknesses and develop a targeted plan that boosted my score into the 160s. I really appreciated his attention to detail, his emphasis on reasoning skills (this exam is about thinking, not math!), and the vast trove of study materials he has available. He's on the pricier end, but he's well worth it!

I was looking for one on Yelp and there was only 1 review at the time for this place. But then I remembered a conversation with a dear friend years ago when I expressed interest, and it just so happened that he took classes here before and highly recommended it. If you: 1) want to learn something different 2) want to learn how to sign so you can talk about people in front of them without actually talking 3) want to learn about "deaf culture" (all I can say is WOW! It is totally a completely different culture) 4) want to learn ASL but aren't looking to earn credits 5) want to be a better person Then this is for you. Once a week (2.5 hour classes with a 15-min break in between) for 6 weeks per level. If you can't make a class on a certain day, you can ask to make up a class on a different day. *Unless they cancel the class, which actually happened to me... so I lost a class and couldn't get a refund. As for the classes -- they are fun! We make up skits to learn how to sign without speaking and play lots of games. We go around to answer questions and end up getting to know each other. We laugh through the entire class... it's pretty much the most fun you can have in a classroom setting. I can only hope to advance to conversational level one day and be able to communicate fluently and beautifully like everyone here! It truly is a beautiful language. All the teachers are friendly and funny. I almost didn't want to write this review because I wanted to keep this place all to myself!!

He did very, very well on the exam, and I give much of the credit to Nataliya (the rest of credit goes to my son, who worked very hard!). Going into this, we had reason for deep concern about his prospects. Well, we got the scores yesterday and they are outstanding. Thank you, Nataliya! On a personal level, Nataliya worked wonderfully with him. She is incredibly patient, and seems to have great instincts for how to work with different children. She worked with my daughter as well, just not as much, and clearly tailored her presentation to the nature of the child she was working with. (It bears mentioning that my son has some learning issues, which she clearly grasped and adapted to very effectively.) From a practical perspective, the virtual tutoring worked exceptionally well for my son. His generation is often more inclined to interact with others online than in person, and that is especially true for him. The flexibility afforded by the remote sessions was terrific - weekends in particular - making it much easier for him to keep up with, and follow through on, the lessons. I would enthusiastically recommend Nataliya to any student searching for help with the challenges of navigating today's high school workload!

She had gone through a few tutors within the city however her son's practice scores were still hovering around the same average score. Since I am closer in age to her son, and well versed with many different testing centers- considering I've taken the SAT, ACT and the DAT (for dental school) as well as NBDE I,II (both for dental)- she asked me to help her find one that could help her son's learning style out. After some research and conversations with her son, I realized he needed more one on one tutoring rather than the online and classroom modules other companies utilize. With some good google searching I found tutor me NY and they were really personable and straight forward. The personal one on one touch was what my cousin's son needed and his scores greatly improved. Tutoring can be a tricky thing to find the right fit since its not a "one size fits all" type of service. My cousin was really happy with the results and I was really happy that they were easy to find, contact and get set up with. Would definitely recommend for SAT prep!

Luckily for us, money was not a main factor in deciding the best tutor, however, we were more concerned with finding one that was really experienced. We hired multiple companies that were supposedly "highly rated" and charged an arm and a leg but found the the tutor did not fit what we were looking for. Low and behold, a friend recommended Tutor Me NY and after seeing there great reviews online, I immediately decided to give them a call. Tutor Me Ny was fantastic from the get go. From explaining things, to not pressuring me, and even making sure that the tutor was to our standards - the whole experience was perfect. The tutor we were matched with was a Columbia graduate and she was able to work with both children back to back. She even met with one of them at a coffee shop in Manhattan which was extremely convenient. It has since been a few months and my nieces have both received their scores back and they did extremely well. In fact they are now working with another tutor for college apps and statistics. Overall very pleased with the service and felt compelled to share my experience with the world! Out of all the companies and tutors we tried, Tutor Me NY had the best tutor in New York!

As an investment banker with a packed schedule, I needed all the help I could get when I decided to learn Spanish. For the first few months I struggled to find the right instructor: someone who was not only able to teach effectively, but could also motivate me. I was very lucky to begin taking classes with Irma Cedeno, the founder of Diáfano. She brings incredible energy to every lesson that keeps me engaged and eager to learn. She leverages Spanish and Hispanic literature, history, music, film and art to highlight the benefits of strengthening your grasp of the language. So while I first started learning Spanish to vacation in South & Central America, I now realize that Spanish unlocks the door to a vivid and exciting culture that is all around us right here in New York City. In a classroom setting, Irma drives learning and engagement through interesting and impactful group discussions. She is able to sense the needs of each student to make sure no one person either falls behind or dominates the class. She breaks lessons down into a variety of activities to achieve simultaneous progress on different concepts and grammatical structures. In an individual setting, Irma maximizes my development by carefully planning classes to address my unique needs. She combines her solid professional knowledge and training with a creative approach that leads to unparalleled results. Most importantly, she makes learning Spanish fun, which makes you more likely to persevere and achieve your goals. In that sense, she has become more like a coach than an instructor. I'm somewhat conflicted in recommending Irma to others wanting to learn Spanish; the more people know about her skills, the more difficult it will be for me to schedule lessons with her. Therefore, if you are reading this, consider yourself lucky, and don't hesitate to contact her so you can also accelerate your learning today.

If you're looking for a reliable test center, this is it! I've taken two exams with Pearson in the…read morepast and both times I've found the system in place to be efficient and pleasant (or as pleasant as one can be when taking an exam). It's important to note that in this particular building, the earliest you can arrive is half an hour before your appointment. Any earlier, and the security guard will force you to leave the building (they will not let you stay in the lobby). When you arrive at the security desk in the middle of the lobby, they already have your name on a list with all other test takers so you just need to show your ID to verify who you are. Upon entering the suite, you again show your ID (and a credit card or something else with your signature) to the guy up front. They give you a set of instructions to read over and when you're done, you get your picture taken. Depending on the test you're taking, you may also have to get a pulse reading. You then stash all your stuff in a locker and take your ID, locker key, and maybe a calculator if one is permitted to the entrance of the exam room. Your proctor then goes over rules with you (basically whatever you need whether it's to go to the bathroom or you need more scrap paper, you just raise your hand and the proctor comes to you). The proctor then walks you to your seat and logs you into your exam. You're taking your exam in a room with a bunch of other people separated by cubicle walls and there's a timer on your computer. This center also had two clocks on the walls so you can check what time it is. Noise canceling headphones are also on your desk and ear plugs are available upon request. Once you're done, you go to the front and there's usually a printout. Either you get your results right away or the printout instructs you on when to expect results. You get your stuff out of the locker and you're free to leave. The staff at this location are all super friendly and efficient so definitely come here if you're an anxious test taker like me and want the moments leading up to your exam to go smoothly.

Your exam board is the ones that make the decision as to what they consider an ID. Not all exams require the same so pay close attention to what was sent via email and what the staff says. No cellphone use or studying of any kind is allowed in the test center and only test takers are allowed in the center. Your exam starts the time when you are seated at your assigned workstation and although your exam time is at a specific time and you are seated after that time you still get your all your allotted time for your exam.. Delays happen if computer updates need to be ran, if you leave your items in your pocket when they are to be stored in lockers delay time being seated. If you have specific exam questions like how many sections or the time allotted for sections, how long before you get your results and all other exam specifics you need to refer to your exam board. The test center staff is there to deliver the exam, help with computer issues, give you materials that is allowed in order for you to take your exam. I cannot stress enough that the staff is given limited information detailed information you can receive from your exam board. They do not schedule exams or make changes to the schedule. If you are late it will delay others if you are accommodated. No one wants to deal with the attitude that comes from test takers just as much as test takers don't want to deal with the attitude from the test center staff. The staff understands that test takers are nervous and try their best.
