BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! I recently won a few items from Berger Coins and Collectables auction that was ran online through Hibid.com. I won a mistery box bid of approximately $100. The minimum bid was just a few dollars less and I was the only bidder. I also won 5 gemstones, a roll of wheat pennies and a roll of Indian head pennies. I received my items yesterday and the mystery box revealed 1oz silver coin, and extremely worn 1936 quarter and Barber coin, and a small yellow gemstone found out at a highly rated jewelry that it was a Cetrine stone worth $6. An ounce of silver is worth $32.64. A circulated 1936 quarter in decent condition is $7. And the Barber dime is worth $6. So if my math serves me well that's $51.64. So this business made $50 from me. Also, The 50 pc Indian roll only had 9 that were Indian pennies. The rest were regular wheat pennies. I wasn't expecting up to "$3,000"worth of coins as what was described in the listing, but if you place a reserve on a lot it's expected to be worth at least the reserve price that's listed. And where is the second mystery box? I paid for both invoices at the same time. You don't give out tracking information even when a customer asks for it so who knows. Probably won't even receive that item like many other customers that's posted on BBB. The communication with this business has been almost nonexistent. Extremely hard to get in touch with anyone and when they say they'll get back to you, they don't. I am not purchasing anything else from this business and would highly recommend others to STAY AWAY, unless you like loosing money. I also found out that this business's rating on the BBB website is an F with alerts. There's also comments from other past customers not even receiving items.

Text log

If I could give them 0 stars I would. This shop literally stole $362 from me. I placed max bids on a good amount of items in an auction of theirs last September. Low and behold, I won all of them, for my max bid. They bid the price up on the seller's behalf. So I told them I didn't want them. Well they went ahead and charged me anyways. And since then I have been emailing, calling, and texting them. They responded at first, but have since decided to not respond. I have yet to be reimbursed, or have the items shipped to me. The owner has read receipts turned on on his phone. Do I see that he gets my messages. These guys are crooks! I'm not the only one with a situation like this. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!

I miss this place so much. The building is an old auto repair shop which looks to have been built…read morein the early 1900s. Everyone and anyone can place items up for sale. In the back of the building are rows of very old theater chairs facing towards what looks to be a judges stand. The items for sale are usually in soda flats or fruit boxes. The boxes are stacked on or below tables that are attached to rolling platforms. Large items like bikes or washing machines are stored in an area to the right of the stage. One by one a table is rolled to the front and the auctioneers helpers try their best to identify the item. There is no way for me to type what this place sounds like. The auctioneer is yelling gibberish numbers and multiple helpers yell "YEP" when someone raises their hand. It is a family run business and has not changed much in the many years they have operated. The father was the best auctioneer but since around 1996 his son has taken over. You could find literally anything for sale at this place. Make sure to register ahead of time because you cant buy without a buyers number!

Smelkers Auction in Wellington Colorado is such a trip, They sell just about anything and…read moreeverything you can imagine. The reason items change so much is that locals use it as a clearing house for there unwanted or excess items along with estate closeouts and storage unit sell outs. The mixture is ever changing so you never know for sure what you might find. From Coin collections to Whale Baleen you can find it all. My father is a big tools collector and always seems to find a tool he can't live without and my girlfriend found some mahogany furniture that was off the charts beautiful...My bread maker and Oster mixer were also purchased here... My husband found a beautiful set of cabinets for our guest apartment and there always seems to be a few big items outside. So if you happen to be in the neighborhood on a Friday night stop on in and check it out. Treasures await and you will certainly have a chance to see some stuff...There are some restaurants in town too so come check in for your Auction ( bidding) number, go dine then attend what the locals call - "a-regular deal" it starts @ 6:30 PM every Friday night. Be sure to tell Curtis (owner/auctioneer) I sent ya it might get ya front row seat...HA HA - not really.

Unfortunately, gone are those days and it's just another business that has gone by the wayside. It also has joined the ranks of businesses that used to be great but is best to bypass now. You can call and make sure someone will be there to take your consignment. Then drive and hour + to get there only to be told by the receptionist that neither of the 2 men that could except the items are there. "Can you contact them?" No, they are not answering the phones. Enough said. It's probably a blessing they were not there after reading the other Reviews on Yelp about them... You have been warned !!

Safe Deposit coins LLC. (I will be using the fictitious name of "Richard Cranium" to conceal the…read moreidentity of the owner). In my opinion Safe Deposit Coins LLC and Richard Cranium is not only misrepresenting the coins they are selling on the iCollector auction site but also miss advertise the coins. I took part in 5 of their auctions, all within a weeks' time and of the 5 I only received coins from two. The total amount that Safe Deposit Coins LLC and Richard Cranium took from my bank account was $538.07 and the two sets I did receive totaled $46.45 leaving a balance due of $491.62. The online line auction stated "unsearched Mixed Dates & Grades" or "nice mixture of dates and grades", from that one would believe that all coins would have readable dates and at least carry a grade of good. The coins I did receive were junk at best. The coins either had no dates or they were damaged making them worthless. In the "terms and conditions" Safe Deposit Coins LLC and Richard Cranium repeatedly states that the coins should be inspected and graded prior to bidding but they repeatedly show the same pictures for each auction lot. There is no way to inspect any coins in the lot and Richard Cranium will not say who is selling the lots and how to contact them, so the buyer is left to believe that the coins they will receive will at least be of the quality described and pictured. I have complained to Richard Cranium and told him they misrepresent the coins. I also repeatedly requested my remaining coins and tracking numbers, only twice was I given tracking numbers and was constantly lied to by Richard Cranium with him saying they were shipped. I finally told Richard Cranium not to ship any remaining coins and for him to return my $491.62 back to my bank account. I also told him that if coins did show up at my residence I would be returning them back to him with the package unopened. I did this because I just knew that anything I received from Safe Deposit Coin LLC and Richard Cranium would be more junk coins and not worth the money I wanted returned to me. I did so that I could save myself, Safe Deposit Coins LLC and Richard Cranium from my opening the packages and inspecting the coins only to find nothing but junk coins again and having to fight to send them back and trying to get a refund on an open package, I felt this was fair to everyone. If I had known that Safe Deposit Coin LLC was going to misrepresent their coins so badly I would never have purchased them. I would also bring up a couple of points of interest, first of all Safe Deposit Coins LLC and Richard Cranium is representing that their coins are coming out of a safe deposit box and it is my belief that this is an outright lie, no one in their right mind would maintain this type of worthless coins in a safe deposit box unless it is one of the companies that do sell bulk trash coins, who state the true condition. Secondly this is not a first time concern, as a matter of fact this is a common practice of Safe Deposit Coins LLC, that is why they carry a F rating with the BBB and they supposedly have been reported to Better Business Bureau prior to this by other bidders. It is my belief that with the way this company is conducting business that the state of Colorado should shut this business down, that way other unexpecting buyers are not cheated out of their hard earn money. Please read the complaints on the BBB site for Safe Deposit Coins LLC to back up what I have told you. This problem with Safe Deposit Coins LLC and Richard Cranium has been going on since July 27, 2015 and here it is September 16, 2015 and I have not received a cent back from this person or company.
