My mother and I were visiting my aunt in Gainesville for the weekend and decided to come here. My grandmother is Korean, so I am always down for Korean food. We have one or two Korean bbqs restaurants in my hometown, but none of them have the "all you can eat" option. We ordered the bulgogi, kalbi, and pork belly.The bulgogi had a much sweeter marinade than I am used to; however, it was still good. Several minutes into our meal, I asked the waiter if they used MSG. I was enjoying my food so much that I forgot to ask. I am allergic to MSG and if I consume alot, I can have a severe reaction. He informed me that everything, but the bean sprouts, broccoli, un-marinated meat, and other sides had MSG. I was very disappointed, but the pork belly and the other mini dishes did the job. I wasn't able to eat the kalbi, but my mother and aunt said it was good. The "all you can eat" is broken down into three sections. The last section is the most expensive. The food is pricey, but for the amount of food you receive it is worth it. The add-ons are included in the price. The atmosphere is modern and sleek with a grill installed at each table. I like the set-up much better than the ones back home. The staff is nice and was accommodating to my allergy after I informed the waiter. Our waiter only changed our charred grill after another waiter informed him that it needed changing. Besides that everything was good. read more

The waiter goes through the process of how to do the grilling in a patient and clear way - something I was really needing as I've done hot pot but not just grilled stuff. A bunch of sides, even for four people sitting at the table, a sampling of many different types of marinated vegetables and the like. Korean BBQ is hard for me to eat at since I do not eat meat, but my family enjoys it so much. We came here to visit my cousins in Gainesville. I had the tempura vegetables, and the portion was so big that I even had leftovers. It was so delicious, and the vegetables tasted so fresh. My family had the "happy hour" all you can eat, and they also enjoyed it very much. It was also a very reasonable price, I believe it was $25 per person. After our meals, we got waffle ice cream and it was so delicious. Seriously one of the best desserts that I have ever had. Furthermore, service was superb. The waiter gives you as much soup as you want, or whatever extra little toppings/sides for your meats. The manager also came by to say hi and introduce himself to us to us, which was really so sweet. We ordered a couple of entrees. The endless sides were fresh and tasty. The meat included thin-sliced beef, bulgogi beef, and pork belly, and cooked up quickly and without much in the way of smoke thanks to their modern grill's fume extraction. The meats could've used some more flavorful marinades I thought, but the dipping sauces helped somewhat to offset that. Not at all Beque Holic's fault, but I think I'm turned off Korean at-the-table BBQ just because of the labor involved in cooking. If and when I go again I'll probably ask the server to cook it up for me while I sit back and relax. read more

We were in Gainesville for a conference and were pleasantly surprised to find Korean BBQ. We live in Miami but grew up in NJ where there is so much good Korean food. There is minimal Asian food in Miami other than the Americanized fast food takeout, sadly. This was our first stop because I had been craving Korean BBQ for months. We ordered the combo for 2 ($50) which left us STUFFED. The banchan was kimchi and an assortment of radishes prepared different ways. I was skeptic going in, knowing that truly tasty KBBQ existed somewhere in this world, but I had yet to experience it in the land of all-you-can-eat capital (Nevada) or the Korean hot-spot (Los Angeles). Enter Gainesville. We ordered the combo A for 2 which came with a nice selection of red meats and all of the delicious side dishes. Everything was delightful! The edamame pickled radish was so unique, and I was thrilled when our waiter suggested to use it as a small taco shell for the beef brisket. Everything was so dynamically flavorful. Beque Holic is the only AYCE KBBQ place in Gainesville and, if you're eating out with guys, the only place you take them to so they don't eat all of your food. FOOD: 4.5/5 I come here with my friends twice a semester as a way to celebrate the end of each block of classes. We always order the AYCE option Set A, which is $25. This set includes beef brisket, pork belly, teriyaki chicken, spicy chicken, and seasoned squid. Out of this set, the top 3 meats we always order are the beef brisket, pork belly, and spicy chicken. In addition to the meats, the meal comes with unlimited Korean side dishes, called banchan, and rice. Pro tip: the beef brisket cooks the fastest, so if you're starving, start with that! Also, the spicy chicken takes a longer time to cook. The meats are all top quality; my group usually goes through at least two orders of brisket, three orders of pork belly, and one order of spicy chicken. The dumplings are also a huge hit and go super fast, so we always order a bunch of them as well. You may ask why 4.5 instead of 5/5. Simply put, for the price I believe they could have added on the beef bulgogi to Set A. I would have liked to see more options available, but unfortunately since my friends and I are all students we are too college broke to order Set B or C. AMBIANCE: 5/5 This restaurant is set up for large groups, and KBBQ is always a good time. They have upbeat music playing and if you come with a large enough group, they'll give you the private room if there aren't any reservations for it. SERVICE: 5/5 The service here is excellent. It was the first time that I went to this place. The service was bad but I have this place 3 stars because of the food and the fact I got all you can eat for $15 instead of the usually $30. Found this gem thanks to yelp! We were traveling through town on our way to Orlando and found this place. We were greeted right at the door and they were excited to explain the menu to us (especially since we were new to Korean BBQ) Come hungry! It's an all you can eat kinda place. It's expensive so plan ahead. We opt'ed for option B which was all you can eat. We let the waiter recommend the best dishes to try and then you cook your own meat at the table. It is truly an event. The beef dishes were our favorite and I can't remember all the names. The pork Dishes were salty and the side dishes were worth a Taste. Loves the little taco wrap. The dumplings were delish, we ordered a couple of those. The wings are so small and very tasty. The service is good. They cleaned the table when we placed items on the edge of the table. We had several waiters so I hope they share tips. All in all it was a fun event (plan to enjoy the time so this is not a place to eat and run) and we turned it into lupper (lunch and dinner) because we can't eat another bite. Oh, the kids did order fried ice cream which was good but a lot of crust and for the price I wish we would have skipped it. A great all-you-can-eat Korean place in town. We usually get option B to try a little bit of everything. If you want AYCE, everyone at the table must agree on the same level (A, B or C). If you're not into AYCE, there are platters & à la carte options. 4 stars for having variable cuts and marinades of the same dish; I'm not sure if the second is due to differing chefs. In my opinion, the quality of meat is above average & the side dishes are average-above average. The servers are usually very quick, friendly & check in frequently. If you are looking for a place to fill up on various types of protein as well as all different types of side dishes, this is the place to go. While Gainesville's last attempt at Korean BBQ failed pretty badly, Beque Holic finally does Korean BBQ justice. While not the best that I've had, by Gainesville standards, the BBQ was great. The various meats ranging from thinly sliced brisket and thick strips of pork belly to well marinated slices of chicken are of really good quality. You can really see the care the restaurant puts in to getting good products for the customers. On top of the good quality food also comes the good quality service. Every time I have gone I've always been greeted by a good server who always asks our table if we need anything or just checks to see how we are doing. While pricey, you are getting some awesome food for what you are paying. If you go to Gainesville, this is a go to place. Give it a try! read more

Fellow Yelpers, 2.5 stars Beque Holic for me is a one and done kinda place. The experience was fun. But it was also exhausting and caused a bit of anxiety lol. The servers were running around all over the place and service was good. The sides they put down were rest and unique. Also very flavorful. As for the meat I think most of the meats would stick to the grill and felt as if they were not marinated at all. Nothing was tender and it was all rushed to be cooked. Literally breaking a sweat to keep up with the cooking. We had a great time regardless. I think they keep the sides coming and make you feel as it's a great experience but the main meats were he least of the experience for all of us. The restaurant itself is nice looking, clean, and modern. It was definitely fun. It's definitely on the pricey side. For what it is. I don't think the meat quality was up to par.
