I saw that Pho Saigon was nearby when I searched Yelp, and I'm so glad I decided (after walking…read morearound the block and back) to go in. I was offered a small bowl of homemade kimchi to go with my Tiger beer, which I was delighted by! I've wanted to try Kimchi for AGES! And it was so tasty :-) I ordered a king prawn pho. Flat noodles; halved prawns; fresh coriander, basil and mint; sliced red chilli and bean sprouts on the side which I added. I also asked if they could give it a bit of a kick to try and sink my blossoming cold and they kindly obliged. Not too hot, but enough to give it some warmth. Omnomnom! Gorgeous :-) I spoke to the owner afterwards and he said they were quite new. I would definitely be back if I'm in the area.

I had one of the soups with rice vermicelli, beef and vegetables. It was good but no matter what spiciness I added, the broth still seemed too bland for my preference. Same for my wife's rice vermicelli with mixed vegetables. The little bowl of pickled vegetables that was brought to the table were delicious. Just the right amount of spice and pickling. The restaurant is very clean, nicely decorated and it's front tables open to the sidewalk, with a couple of tables outside. Also the price was very reasonable. I'd like to give these nice people 4 stars for all the above, but the main entree failed to satisfy.

First, the food quality is good and reasonably priced (13 pounds). I ordered the big bowl pho soup includes noodles, meatballs, and beef with a side helping of bean sprouts to add. It was satisfying and hearty. The only blemish was that the broth had a bit more fat than I would have liked. Location is convenient for visitors to Brighton. It's on Preston Street near the Waitrose supermarket. From the Brighton I-360 tourist attraction, it's about 1-2 blocks north away from the water. From Churchill Square (near the clock tower), it's about a 5-7 minute walk to the west (along the street that is reserved for buses and taxis only). The restaurant is a bit tiny - I would recommend it for solo diner or couples. It's not convenient for a large group. Preston Street has a nice boba tea shop across the way and other restaurants that are worth a look-see. Overall, I would recommend "the Big Bowl" for visitors to Brighton who are looking for authentic Vietnamese pho.

I ordered the Bún cha combo which has vermicelli noodles, grilled pork, chicken and a spring roll. It comes with a dipping sauce that's a mixture of lemon juice, ginger, chilli, garlic and vinegar. It was tasty and cost just under £9. Service was very friendly and nice. I will definitely come back and try other items on the menu!

Zucchini (the new italian) was completely empty, so we thought we'd mosy on down to Enzo's, which came heartily recommended by a colleague. I'll cut to the chase. The appetizer was vile, and the main (pasta for both of us) was semi-synthetic, and good insofar as it wasn't as bad as the appetizer. The basket of bread they bought us is the worst bread I've had in ... well, the world actually. Even Florence's unsalted horrors were better than this paper-flavoured dusty thing. I'd rather have had cheap sliced bread, toasted, than what they served us as fresh bakery bread. I had a small piece to check if what my fingers told me was accurate (it was) and didn't touch the rest. As an appetizer we had the fritto misto. The only thing that was borderline edible (and even then, I'll bet it came straight from Iceland freezers) were the calamari. They weren't good, but tasted nowhere near as bad as the shrimp and (oh. my. god.) whitebait. I had 3 of those little fishies, and stopped. If 3 random ones are awful, then it's not going to get any better. For the record. I'm greek, and we love seafood, and I gobble down whitebait like no tomorrow in the summers back home. This truly was awful. The meatballs in the Penne siciliane were store-bought and tasted almost like the swedish meatballs IKEA serves. Not what you'd expect in a small town's small restaurant-pub-bar. I had fettuccine.... I can't remember what. With broccoli, feta, tomatoes and cream sauce. They were actually very good, if slightly overcooked. Sadly, they weren't 100% fresh, as the plate had obviously spent some time in an oven being kept warm. Some were very dried up around the edges. Also, some broccoli pieces had an odd flavour. But that might've been my brain playing tricks on me. I did rather like the pasta. Just would never want to have them make it for me again. I'll make it myself at home, thanks, and I'll bet it'll be a hundred times better! Service was lovely. Thankfully, I'd been warned. My colleague said that Enzo sold his business recently and an older vietnamese couple have taken it over. The ambiance and service were correspondingly subdued. We only went because he also said they'd kept the chef. I would not go again to test out my theory, but perhaps the chef, being italian, stayed home due to the snow that day? Maybe someone else will try it out and let us all know. Overall, for £13 each (with tip) it's jiust not worth the trouble. It was £6.80 for most pasta dishes. Keep walking, head to the embers inn pub down the road, where you can feast like a king on traditional british fare for half the money.

I can only say I have always been very disappointed by the food served in the past at Enzo's. In my opinion there is far better Italian food available in Woking at far better prices and this has not changed. Overcooked fish, tinned tasting sauces etc are just some of the delights served and as the chef is the same this hasn't changed either. However the Vietnamese specials, which Lee prepared to her Grandmother's recipes are fantastic. Light, fresh and very traditional and a great change as this type of food is not readily available in Woking, more is the pity. I wont say there aren't some teething problems while the new owners settle in, but all in all give it a go - you might be surprised.

This is a little gem in Leyton. What makes this Vietnamese restaurant stand outs, is that it has a slightly different added menu, it still makes the traditional food, but stuffed chicken wings? Saying that, the traditional dishes were just as splendid, full of mouth watering flavours, combining with the freshness and texture when taking that first bite. And there was no skimping on the portion sizes. I left that restaurant quite full. The venue itself was spacious and open. really cool modern and simple decorating, but it works. Even when the restaurant was full, still did not feel crowded, quite the opposite, relax with a buzz vibe. That was also due to the part of the waiters, who were very friendly, attentive, and on point. They have some really good lunch offers at the moment, so that really helps, but generally the cost is quite decent and value for money, comparing to other Vietnamese restaurants. Other than parking and its awkward location, one way narrow road, I would say this is a good place to eat.

We visited Pho with our young family (two adults, a toddler, and a baby), and while there were some…read morepositives to the experience, we left feeling disappointed and disheartened by how the situation was handled. Firstly, we want to say thank you for checking in on our food and being so responsive to our allergy concerns. That care was genuinely appreciated and gave us confidence in what we were eating. However, the experience fell short in how our family was treated--particularly as parents of a neurodiverse toddler. Understandably, our little one was tired and hungry when we arrived. While waiting for food, he became overstimulated and struggled to stay calm, eventually settling with a game that helped him regulate--though it did cause him to vocalize loudly in excitement. We were actively trying to manage this, including removing the crayons and activities when they became unhelpful. A supervisor then approached us and said other guests were complaining, asking whether we could "keep him quiet or go outside." While we understand the need to be mindful of other diners, the way this was said felt more like an ultimatum than a compassionate check-in. In that moment, we needed support, not pressure. What made it worse was overhearing a staff member say to a couple who had just been seated near us, "Let us know if you want to move at any point." This clearly implied our child was a problem. To their credit, the couple themselves questioned why they'd need to move--highlighting that the issue wasn't as disruptive as it was made out to be. Still, overhearing this exchange without any attempt by staff to reassure or support us left us feeling judged and unwelcome. We truly understand the challenge of balancing a calm environment for all diners, but families--especially those with neurodiverse children--need more understanding, not subtle exclusion. These situations require empathy and discretion, not public discomfort. Again, thank you for your excellent attention to food allergies. That part of the service was handled with care and professionalism. We hope this feedback encourages greater awareness and inclusive training for staff so that families can feel just as welcomed as anyone else.
