We had to pull off 35 South due to an alternator suddenly going out. Thank goodness they were right there. We were so shocked because they met us outside even before we were able to get out of our vehicle, asking how they could be of service. I wish I could give ZERO stars. I chose Benton's due to their good reputation in the community of Guthrie, Oklahoma. However, I was not pleased with the service they provided. Overall I feel this repair shop lacked transparency in the cost and time frame to repair my vehicle. I brought in my vehicle to repair the steering column due to shaking when reaching speeds greater than 60mph. I was given a quote the repair would cost about $1,200.00 and take 3 days. On the third day when I expected to receive my vehicle I was told of difficulties with programming and a few extra days may be needed. Those few extra days became 3 weeks. I had to call their location often for updates. With each update I was ensured the car would be completed "soon". During the three weeks my car was being repaired I paid hundreds of dollars in Uber and car rental expenses. I was also sent a text message with a new quote for their repair work of $4,700.00 for replacement and repair of the steering column. During a discussion with others an employee about my grievances it was revealed they needed to call the dealership to figure out how to repair the vehicle. The employee told me "we are doing it cheaper than the dealership". Which was false because the cost of repair was more expensive than the dealership. I also had to pay for a rental vehicle. This discussion makes me question the integrity of Benton's service center. When I arrived to pickup up my vehicle it was FILTHY. I had to ask for the dirt to be cleaned. I am not judging the craftsmanship of the repair because I do not know about cars. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received. When expressing the inconvenience and disappointment I was told "one day you'll look back on this memory as something you've overcome". I am sharing my experience so you can consider the potential for an increased estimate after you've been given a quote. Also consider Benton's does not provide loaner vehicles so you will also have the extra expense of transportation if the time frame extends beyond what they have promised. read more

Do NOT bring your car here. They are money hungry. My cars linkage was messed up. Which is what allows you to shift your car into PRND. I brought it in and they told me my transmission had gone out. When I had asked them if they looked at the linkage they said "the car won't go into gear the mechanics made his decision it's the transmission"..... this trans has less than 80,000 miles on it and there's no way it's gone out already. I tried speaking with the owner and he told me the computer told them it was the trans, when I asked if he could show me he refused. (He refused bc you can't even run a computer on this trans Ik bc of the previous work done.) he then charged me a 45$ diagnostic fee for a completely false diagnosis. NEVER go here. read more

Cost me $45 for a completely FICTITIOUS diagnostic labor charge! They insisted that the car needed new parts THAT HAD JUST BEEN REPLACED 24 HRS BEFORE!? Called about having my 1976 Mercury serviced. They do work on classic cars and do a pretty good job with them too. All of the employees are super kind and answered all of my questions whenever I called. Benton's is definitely one of the best service centers in the area. Keep up the good work y'all! read more

I lived in Guthrie for about a year, and had several car issues in that time. Benton's always got the problem fixed for a reasonable price. They are friendly and very fast. I've lived in multiple towns since then and have yet to settle on another mechanic as my go to at any of them. read more

My advise!? Take you car somewhere else... this place replaced my radiator and didn't even put bolts back to for the install of the new one... they used plastic zip ties... I've been screwed by this place twice now. Ill never go back and I let everyone I know not to go here... This place is crap read more

We started going here years ago when we moved to Guthrie. I have always thought they did a great job and they don't try to sell you things you don't need. We now live in okc but I still drive out there because I trust them. Took my car to the dealership for a recall. They told me I needed $1,800 in maintenance. I took it to Benton's and they said I needed $100 in maintenance and would need another $100 of work done in another 10,000 miles. Great people. They have kept my cars in great shape for 12 years now. read more

When in to get An alignment checked because I just put all new tires instead of checking the alignment they told me that I needed a complete new front end on a 2017 model car with 60,000 miles and it would cost $1300 took the vehicle to the dealership they put it on a machine checked it and nothing was wrong with it didn't even need to be aligned. My kids broke down on I 35 ; it was rear u joint in a 1991 chevy S10 ; i asked the tow company for recommendation for local service garage . They took us to Bentons Service Center ; i called them first thing in the morning , asked them to get me a quote on fixing the u joint. At this point they call me back and say every u joint on the driveshaft and carrier bearing need replaced. I explain to them my kids don't have alot of money could they just do the broken u joint. Of course not its all or nothing. So the u joints for a 91 chevy s10 at autozone with no commercial discount are 13.00 a piece they charged 33.00 (i dont mind a 20-30% but this is damn 150%) . X3 and the did the same for the carrier bearing , so $150.00 in parts for $60 worth of parts . Then 2.5 hours labor which is what it takes to do a complete on a drive shaft. But they charge $100 an hour which is on the high end of service garages that are not factory dealers. I talk to the guy and say you my kids truck is hardly worth $400.00 can you cut a small break on the hourly (because he is absolutely gouging me on the parts) . But his response is you can take it somewhere else if you like. And proceeded to tell me how good of a deal i was getting compared to going to a dealer. The work they did was fine , but Im new to Oklahoma and am looking for an honest mechanic at a fair rate , i have a fleet of vehicles that we service (employees , partners , shop rigs ) but obviously these guys aren't it. Like i said the actual mechanic work they did was done correctly , but they definitely are not someone willing to help people. read more

Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless all you need is different air in your tires, more blinker fluid, or want to hear a lie. Had Lance and his team look at my truck because it appeared to be missing or not running right, he looked at it and told me he replaced a bunch of things but it didn't fix it all the way. He then told me that the motor was junk and it would be several thousand to get a new one. After I picked it up and paid a thousand dollars, it ran worse than it did when I dropped it off. Lance insisted that the motor was junk but I wasn't going to spend that much to put a motor in it. I took it to another place and they told me it was a $68 fix and it's running just fine. The place that fixed it said the last person I took it to(Benton's) screwed me over pretty good! Lance will nickel and dime you and not think twice about it! read more

My mother and I were travelling home from Iowa to Texas with a 1987 Ford F150 that my grandfather gave to my stepfather. It was a risk driving the old truck that far of a trek, but bless our lucky stars we broke down in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Benton's Service Center was friendly and willing to help two displaced women, even though the truck was difficult to diagnose. The technicians and shop help worked for nearly 3 hours to figure out what was wrong with the darned thing. The atmosphere was family-friendly, the waiting area even had a sweet older shop dog that helped ease some of the anxiety we were riddled with. Thankfully, Benton's was able to get the truck running and charged us a whopping $72 when we were expecting in the hundreds!! We made it home safe and sound, without any other problems the next day after spending the night in Guthrie. Thank you Benton's Service Center! read more

Stopped here because we were in need of tire service from Kansas to Texas. We were meet in the parking lot and were being helped before we put the car in park. Work was completed in 25 min.
