Bento was extremely thorough when we signed up with them. Unfortunately, with the first storm of the season, they are completely MIA- phone unanswered, no replies to text or email, leaving us completely and unexpectedly stuck. Not sure if they're suddenly out of business or what, but definitely cannot recommend at all. Update- we finally received a response from the owners, who cited an emergency with one of the crews and stated that, while they were still trying to catch up from yesterday, today's conditions would prevent them from servicing us today and for "the rest of the season." To summarize- we signed a seasonal contract with them, they not only didn't show up but also didn't communicate anything about an emergency or change in plans that would allow us to make other arrangements, then canceled our service. I had great experience overall with Bento Snow Removal. I am currently living in Somerville and Rafael and his team has done a great job in past season. The price is very reasonable and flexible compared to what we had for the last year. Always shows up in time and the removal is professionally done. I will definitely recommend Bento to my friends and neighbors. One thing could be improved is communication. Even though Bento did show up everytime for the past season, it will be nice to get some notifications like when the team starts routing, when they might show up or will they do a de-ice etc. read more

After a fine season last year, they did not show up or respond to calls/texts after the first major storm of the year. This type of service is for something that must be done in timely manner, and their lack of responsiveness shows they do not care for their customers. read more

Looking into snow removal for next year has caused me to revisit my horrible experience with Bento last year. I'm glad it worked for some people, but I would give them negative stars on reliability if I would. Understand if you do business with them they may just not follow through on your contract. That would be a 100% dealbreaker for me. read more

After several calls, emails, and texts went unanswered during yesterday's storm, I received an email this morning from Rafael Oliveira indicating that there was an emergency with one of their crews, and they will not be able to provide services for this storm nor for the rest of the season. We contracted with Bento last fall. First storm of the season and they no show. No response to phone calls, texts, or email. They seem to have vanished. If you're not going to service customers of or if you have closed shop at least let folks know so they can coordinate another service. Update: After posting this I received the following email from the owners. Would have been nice to have gotten this prior to the storm. We apologize for not servicing your property this storm. We understand and regret the inconvenience this has caused you. This is not how we do business and we are very sorry. There was an emergency with one of our crews in charge of this route and we are just catching up with the total impact. Unfortunately, with the temperature being so extremely low there is little we can do with the frozen snow to remedy this for you now. At this point, it does not appear that we will be in a position to service your property for the remainder of the season and unfortunately think you would be best served by choosing another company for your snow removal services. Had great experience with Bento Snow Removal Service last season. Pricing is reasonable and more importantly, they are reliable. Always on time and got the job done. Will definitely work with them again and recommend to my friends. I am a property manager overlooking 29 units in Revere and I needed an efficient company to remove the snow/ice (from the last snowstorm 1/4/18) from 2 parking lots. I contacted Bento and within 4 hours they had sent a team to survey the area and sent me a quote and had availability for the next day. This was a big job in which required 2 bobcats, big loaders and trucks. Bento had all the necessary equipment and their team arrived 9:00am the next day and completely cleared the snow/ice from the 2 parking lots. No only did they not show up after this most recent snow storm, but they sent a email saying they could no longer services us (a place of business open 24 hrs a day,7 days a week), and did not answer the phone when I called. How many time did I call you may ask? 31 TIMES! I know they saw me calling. I hope and pray that they never receive anyone else's business. Bento does snow removal for my parent's house in Cambridge. I have found them to be an excellent snow removal service. They are prompt and do an great job clearing the snow and keeping the walking areas clean & safe. I used to run a snow removal company so I know how difficult it can be to keep everyone happy- especially when crews get sick, machines break down, weather forecasting is unreliable, etc. I am really impressed with Bento. They have been plowing and removing snow from my house just for this season and do a great job. They clear all the snow away from the sidewalks and pathways, not just what is required, they are at my house early on (usually before I have to leave), and salt heavily. Great job guys.
