Hooray, it's finally up! Thanks Josh, Joel and Shaun!!

A HUGE THANKS to Shaun Twomey. I bought an 18' SunSetter awning that NO ONE IN MA would put up! Because I bought it from SunSetter, no awning company would touch it. I called dozens of people and companies and was lied to or ignored for months. I was ready to send the awning back when Shaun texted me and said his company would do the job. He called me on Friday, Sep 24th and sent Josh & Joel out on Saturday Sep 25th!!!! I was shocked first that someone contacted ME and shocked that they came the next day!!! Joel and Josh were so nice and got the job done in a couple of hours. They apologized several times for all the trouble I had in getting the awning up. They took away all the trash and swept my patio when done. Two nice guys; one great company!!! If you need a SunSetter awning put up, don't bother to contact SunSetter, once they have their money, they don't care if you ever get it up. Call Twomey & Legere Contracting FIRST!

We were very concerned that so many contractors would not be experienced enough to deal with the challenges that a house, built in 1753 would naturally have. Dave and Mike came into an absolute mess with our post and beam construction since the damage to the fieldstone foundation impacted the entire house. They did a fabulous job, better than any of our expectations. Whenever they encountered a problem we thought would be insurmountable, they calmly figured it out; even as our house was then effected by the Columbia gas explosion, right in the middle of construction. Dave gave us good advice, made solid suggestions on how to maximize our insurance money and was calm even when we were not. The communication was quick and clear even with the other contractors. This was an unbearable situation made bearable only because of Dave and Mike's professionalism, honesty and patience. Highest recommendation for HRH Construction

In addition to that, they built a custom sliding barn door, which came out beautiful! Dave and his crew did a fabulous job. They were there every day on time and only missed 2 days due to rain. We actually got their name directly from the deck manufacturer, who told us Boston Framers was excellent and highly recommended them. After working with them, I can see why. They started exactly when they said they would and showed up every day to keep the job moving. They even worked some weekends to get everything completed, which we really appreciated. Their carpenters were excellent. The workmanship was meticulous, the materials were all top quality, and you could tell they really cared about doing the job right. The price was very competitive, especially for the quality of work we received. I also made a few minor changes along the way, and they were very easy to work with and accommodated the changes without adding extra charges. It's not easy to find a contractor that is reliable, fairly priced, uses quality materials, and takes this much pride in their work. Boston Framers checked all those boxes for us. We're extremely happy with our new deck and would absolutely recommend Boston Framers to anyone considering a deck or other construction project. Five stars without hesitation.

Wow. I've been hunting on the internet for some fabric to recover an antique loveseat I picked up…read morecheap on Craig's List. I've found pretty much nothing, and find it really difficult to search sometimes, because I have literally no anchor for the design. We currently rent, plan on buying in the next few years, and even if I were planning on matching the current neutral-toned living room, the loveseat's the first piece to be done, so it's totally wide open. I was thinking of a burgundy color, and was thinking of ultrasuede because it's supposed to be very easy to care for. But I basically have a blank slate, which as Amanda at George's says is "both a blessing and a curse". We went in on a Saturday at a little before noon. I went with my mother and my incredibly well-behaved baby, who was quite happy to play peek a boo with a scrap of cloth Amanda cut for us as something to walk around and use to match fabrics. I went because in annoyance with online fabric warehouses I did a search for warehouses in MA, and found a list somewhere of ALL the non-chain fabric stores in MA. I noticed George's was in Lowell and figured a 10 min drive was worth it. Their website advertised 30% off all remnants, so I went hoping to score the 9-10 yards I need for the loveseat, or at least get some ideas. There was another adult daughter-mother team in there and Amanda was working alone. She handed me a couple of books of microsuede so I could look through them. We then went wandering around looking at the rest of the fabric, which is laid out in coordinating rows. The selection of in-stock stuff is small, but there is a HUGE variety of fabric that can be ordered. The remnants were wild in their variety. We ended up with several small scraps that were only $1/each (plus 30% off, so $0.70/ea) to make some soft stacking blocks for my baby and her little cousins. We also ended up with a few remnants to do a small chair in the baby's room and a duvet cover for her bed. I found a remnant of a GORGEOUS print. I wouldn't do a piece of furniture in it because it's too light, and therefore terrible for kids and pets, but it makes great accent pillows, or I'd put it as wall paper on a single wall or something. It was inspiring. Amanda found some beautiful fabric they had in stock that matched and of course the suede books yielded several possibilities for coordinating pieces. I will end up spending more at George's than I would have if I'd been able to find something online, but honestly, given the amount of time I've spent on various websites staring at hundreds of fabrics, wondering whether or not "good for upholstery" actually meant what it says (it doesn't), wondering if my screen resolution was accurate in its color displays (it's not), and given that the prices at George's are not the highest I've been quoted from other fabric sources and upholsterers I've talked to. I also have to say that Amanda was SUPER helpful, knowledgeable and extremely nice. I've read a lot of reviews of other fabric stores and upholsterers and read about how unfriendly and unhelpful people are in them. If I didn't have an upholsterer already I'd absolutely be bringing my stuff to George's, but I'll be buying fabric from them for sure, and I would recommend them, and specifically Amanda, to anybody.

It has certainly been a combination of frustrating events, with incorrect windows and even truck fire that my, three panel, door melted in.... In my first review I think I blamed everyone and thing involved, but after reflection, I think it's more accurate to say that my sales rep. Brian Cassidy has done everything he could to right any mistakes and get me the information I needed to plan my renovation and move in date accordingly, he always returned my texts and calls and was transparent about his many efforts to sort things out for me and for that I went to three stars. The two missing stars come from beyond a storefront location and speak to some larger issues I had and am having and appear to start at the factory. Which I get given our worlds current circumstances, but it doesn't excuse an inability to get transparent information to the sales reps, so they can share that with their clients, allowing them to plan for what's happening as oppose to wonder what's happening. Or creating a system that can expedite fixing things that went wrong during the process, so projects can stay on track. So look, am I frustrated with the fact I still don't have a door that was ordered like 5 months ago, sure, do I wonder if I was a big corporate client if my calls, through Brian, to the factory and higher ups, would have been met with more information, sure, or that the door that melted in the delivery truck fire, would have been put back to the front of the line, sure, so as I mentioned it's been a frustrating chain of events, some out of anyones control, but a little transparency could have gone a long way. I hope that as the world gets back up to speed, Pella does to, in the meantime it wouldn't hurt to help your staff communicate to their customers, because I'm happy with my windows and when the door arrives I'm sure I be happy with that too and that's what we should be talking about.
