Simple sushi menu in the middle of MGM. We sat at the sushi bar, but apparently needed to order at the register so had to abandon our seats which I thought was a little inconvenient. Not many specialty rolls listed and most were tempura so we opted for unagi and salmon avocado roll. Good pieces of fish- 8 pieces per roll. The water we had tasted off though.

Great service! Great sushi! The sushi was fresh and quickly made. I was too hungry and was enjoying the conversation so I didn't take any food photos. I enjoyed Bento!

I tried the Rainbow special roll, along with three regular roles: Philadelphia, California and Spicy Tuna. The fish was very fresh, and the rice soft yet crisp, these are the base for a good sushi. My only reservation was that the specialty rolls were not very creative.

Think food court, this area of the MGM may be a food court like area, yet after the horrid meal I had at Taps at the resort, I was not eating there again. As we were walking by and reading the menu, the sushi chef greeted us and and offered us a seat at the sushi bar. He explained the "burrito" is a sushi roll cut in half instead of sliced into circles. I ordered a yellowtail burrito and my husband had the tuna poke. Both were amazing! Fresh, hearty with wonderful flavor profiles. They sell beer, or you can roll up with a. Beverage in hand from the casino if you prefer a cocktail. I will definitely visit again when I want to grab a delicious bite at a good price with minimal wait time.

If you're looking for quick & no frills Sushi, Bento is your place. A fast casual Sushi Bar amongst the Food Court. Even while sitting in front of the Sushi Chefs, service was slow & the food was bland. Not to split hairs, yet everyone around us was served via wooden planks, as my Goddaughter's food was served in Styrofoam plate. Definitely not worth the time nor money. Got an Asian flare craving, I'd suggest go around the corner next to the Casino entrance & try out Ginger...that's my plan.

I've always wanted to try Bento Sushi, so why not start off this week right. Instead of sushi, I opted for the unagi bowl. Unagi (ウナギ) roll is pretty popular with sushi connoisseurs, but eating perfectly grilled freshwater eel over warm rice takes Japanese cuisine to another level. The eel is butterflied, cut into square fillets, skewered, and dipped in a sweet soy sauce based sauce before been broiled. The aroma of the sweet caramelized unagi sauce alone is enough to make your mouth water. The rice had generous portions of avocado and was also sprinkled with Ochazuke which is a simple variety of sesame seeds, seaweed flakes and salt. What a great option over eating Maryland crab cake and chicken sandwiches. If you want to try something savory, exotic and healthy - packed with mega-healthy omega-3 fatty acids - then you should opt for the Unagi rice bowl.

Why does the strip mall at the MGM serve better food than the restaurants?!? I was able to order a request that wasn't on the menu like: Avocado roll and California roll with real Crabmeat. :-). Both were tasty with extra portions (Avocado/Crabmeat) instead of small amounts. *4 stars were given because the drink portion is only diet coke or coke (no other type of soda), Fiji water and Beer. This seems to be the going trend for every shop within the strip mall.

Shrimp Tempura Sushi Burrito and Shrimp Tempura Roll

Enjoyed a quick bite before our evening festivities at the MGM. Staff was friendly and patient in describing the sushi options. Food was fresh and well presented. My first time having a sushi burrito and it wasn't bad at all. The shrimp tempura roll was a safe choice to accompany my risk with the unknown sushi burrito, so I was stuffed at the end of my meal!

Wanted salmon rolls but they DIDN'T have SALMON???
Monica M.

How how how does a sushi restaurant not have SALMON??? Noting thrilling at all about the rolls I had. Not worth the price.

I'm just a little upset after eating here. It's not due to the quality, or price, but how they treated the actual technique of sushi, but it's not their fault I don't think they were properly trained. It was strange there were about 16 bar stools and 6 staff members, with many just standing around. In addition, here are some pros and cons: Pros: Nice staff Decent sushi Fast Not as crowded Cons: They only serve you seated at the sushi bar We asked for water and got handed Fiji water then when we got the bill it was $5 each Limited menu Technically the sushi was made poorly, rice not sticky, rice flatted for nigiri When I payed with credit card it didn't give me the option to tip We felt a little misled with the water when we left, it was an average experience at a place. If you're a sushi person and will eat sushi from anywhere including grocery stores (like me) it's not a terrible option.

Chirashi Bowl
Amanda M.

First visit. Pros: Salmon avocado roll almost melts in your mouth. Chirashi Bowl had 9 thick pieces of sashimi. Fairly quick meal start to finish. Cons: Just sushi bar seating which is limited. No real waiter service, order from sushi chefs. Poor selection for beverages: Coke, Diet Coke, Fiji Water $5, Green Tea, Bottled (Unfiltered) Beer and the beers on tap were Sapporo, Stella and Blue Moon. I really wish they offered free water and sake. A bit pricey at $8-$15 a roll, can't really get full for a reasonable price. Tuna sashimi had a very gummy texture. Right by the door so as people come in and out it's extremely drafty and very cold. Probably won't come back, service was lacking, food overall was just okay.

Of course while you making money at MGM casino you have to treat yourself to some food! If your looking for a luxury meal full of excitement know that Bento is not that. Came to Bento with my mother-in-law after a brief gambling session and it was pretty empty. I guess it's because it's very average. Nothing extraordinarily impressive nor disappointing. The sushi was standard; no fringe but made fresh to order. The staff was about the same; some were responsive others had no clue what was going on. If your craving sushi but not interested in spending big money this is a happy medium.

It's a delicious journey through different forms of Japanese cuisine, from raw dishes to grilled, fried, and even a comforting soup course. The setting is intimate, with just a few seats per seating, which makes the experience feel personal and unrushed. Each dish is introduced with care, offering insight into the ingredients and preparation and adding an extra layer of appreciation to the meal. We opted for the sake pairing, which complemented the courses beautifully. Standout dishes for us were the sashimi and the wagyu beef, both incredibly fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. That said, every course was truly delicious. Nasime is a wonderful spot for a thoughtful, peaceful dinner and an especially great choice for a date night. Reservations are required through Resy, and I definitely recommend coming hungry--you'll want to enjoy every course.

To explain my review, I am most influenced by how much I enjoyed the food. It's only fair to note…read morethe menu rotates and I received a serving that I would not personally enjoy. Perhaps it was being a patron during the winter when freshness is limited. Each dish we ate I rank below: 1) poached egg w/ blue crab dashi ankake (5/10) - the egg was cold and cooled the soup once the yolk was pierced which took away from the experience for me. The crab was good and it was supplemented by this corn-like kernel that was bitter and complemented the soup well. 2) seared wagyu with truffle shoyu (8/10) - seems to be a staple. Delicious. Wish there was more truffle since some pieces weren't as covered. Slightly cold but didn't take away from the experience. 3) otsukuri (sashimi) (8.5/10) - wish this was the majority of the meal. This was the part enjoyed most. A wide variety of fish. I would've enjoyed this more if it was not all served at once. 4) spanish octopus agedashi (8/10) - very delicious though the octopus pieces were very big and some too fatty. ' 5) prime fillet mignon w/ haccho miso graze (9/10) - amazing!! our favourite dish. served on a bed of eggplant and mozz cheese. The steak was perfectly cooked. 6) maple leaf duck noodle soup (3/10) - did not enjoy this dish. The broth was not savoury and the duck was far too gamey and fatty. Fortunately, we were stuffed so didn't eat this one. 7) housemade strawberry japanese fro yo (8/10) - refreshing and delicious Cocktails - 7/10 - very limited menu. We had one of the signature cocktails and a whisky. They were both light but lacked complexity. Most of the flavour was given way by the yuzu. Atmosphere - this is where the restaurant shines and I'd recommend going for a special date. It's a very intimate setting. About 10 people can be seated every time, and I believe there are two seatings each evening (6pm and 8:30pm). You are not rushed. We had the 8:30pm seating and lingered for almost 3 hours. It was an excellent environment conducive to conversation. We sat at the bar and saw the one-man show, the chef, prepare all the food. He had a haughty energy, very focused, and unsmiling. He gave the aura of a trained culinary genius. This was nicely contrasted with the one server, a charming and smiling individual. The place is not fancy - I do think it could've been nicer - but I believe it is the most authentic Japanese restaurant you'll find in all the DMV. I would highly recommend to everyone interested in fine Japanese cuisine.

While visiting Alexandria, we decided to grab dinner at a Japanese steakhouse. After a quick Google…read moresearch, we landed on Sake Japanese Steakhouse. Now I'll be honest--when we first pulled up, it looked a little sketch. But the reviews were solid (4+ stars), so we said why not--and went for it. I had a party of 11, and we were seated within minutes, which was a huge plus! The place wasn't too crowded, a bit on the smaller side, and didn't have all the usual flair and flames you might expect from a Japanese steakhouse--but hey, we were already in, so let's go! The staff was friendly overall. Our waiter Genard really tried to keep up with our large group. He missed a few things here and there, but nothing major--overall, he did a decent job. Let's get into the food... The salad came out nice and cold, but that ginger dressing? Whew... not for me. It tasted really heavy on the mayo and overpowered the ginger flavor. I sent it back and got the ginger dipping sauce instead--and that actually worked much better! The soup was hot and fresh like it should be. It had mushrooms (not my thing), so I just pushed those to the side. Now the main event--the food was GOOD! I actually loved that they added vegetables like peas and carrots into the rice--nice little touch you don't always see. The shrimp was tender, the chicken was delicious, and I really appreciated how finely chopped it was instead of big chunks--it made it more tender and soaked up that teriyaki flavor perfectly. The vegetables were cooked just how I like them--crisp broccoli, carrots, onions... flavorful and not overcooked at all. And let's not forget the plum wine--nice, cold, sweet, and exactly what I needed after a long day running around with kids for spring break. It definitely hit the spot! And the BEST part? The pricing! Very reasonable--especially compared to Japanese Hibachi in other cities! $30 for a combo is ALWAYS a win! Overall, we had a really good time. Most of the group enjoyed their food--maybe one or two minor complaints, but nothing major. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5. If you're in Alexandria, it's worth checking out!

The customer service of the staff outside of the cooks could be A LOT BETTER! We were originally sat at one table and was seated and ready when all of a sudden we got switched to another table which took longer for orders. I would return for a drink and food at happy hour but would prefer another steakhouse unless I am just on the area or attending a friend/family event.

Well Yelp NOVA fam, I'm here to tell you, with a resounding "yes," it can and is, that good. Located in the Belle View shopping center off of Ft. Hunt Road, at first glance, Yido seems like it would be the nondescript cookie cutter themed Asian restaurant. There is a small waiting area/foyer when you walk in, and the interior is adorned with the usual decor of paper Japanese lanterns, fake pink cherry blossom plants, and kitschy wall art. Walked in on a Saturday at 4:30pm thinking it would be easy to snag a table...but I was mistaken. The place was PACKED. The first thing I was asked was whether I had a reservation (at 4:30pm, mind you). Having answered "no," I was escorted to dine at the sushi bar. Since it's in the name of the establishment, I ordered the tonkotsu ramen which is the benchmark by which a ramen place should be judged against. After about 5 min, the steaming bowl of noodles arrived. The dish was visually appealing as a creamy broth was the neutral palatte as yellow corn, sliced red ginger, yellow bamboo shoots, strips of black woodear mushroom, a soft boiled orange-ish egg, and green scallions added pops of color. As with any noodle soup dish, taste the broth before adding any additional seasoning such as the table side chili powder or chili oil. The broth could've been thicker, but it was very flavorful and it was evident that hours of simmering with pork bones had gone into the stock. The noodles had a nice chew without being gummy or overcooked and the slices of char siu pork had a good mix of fat to leaness. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the meal. Service could've been more attentive. It was a Saturday night, so it was busy and I understand that. If you're stitting at the sushi bar, expect the diners seated at tables to get their water faster and for servers to check-in on them more frequently. I can definitely see myself stopping in again to try their other ramen offerings. A bowl of ramen with just water as the beverage with tax and tip was about $19.
