I've a small puppy boarded recently for one day, then a 5-day stay. Both high quality experiences. After Jacky got home, 'she told me' of her great time with the new dog friends. I believe all dogs are well supervised. Dog care is the big vibe I saw. I learned good dog care tips too in my brief visit in the lobby. Beth and Victoria are very nice front-office faces; and primarily, professional dog handlers. The business is nicely run for the ease of handing many customers' dogs safely. On Feb 28th I went to drop off my dog and when we walked in one of the ladies approached my dog and he barked at her, they started saying that they wouldn't be able to take him for boarding if he didn't let them take him to the back. Either way, I took him around the lobby just for him to smell around and get familiar and then I got close to the ladies and he smelled them and he let them pet him, so I passed the leash to one of the ladies and she took him inside. #1- he is a Sheppard so by nature they are protective and if they see a stranger coming close they will react, plus my kid was with me so he felt the need to protect even more, even though it was just a bark, #2- If you work with dogs on a daily basis, you should know more about them, just because a dog barked at you, the 1st thing they said after, was that they wouldn't take him, plus my dog just barked, he never growled or was dangerous in any way. #3- I requested to see the inside (the facility where he was going to stay), they didn't allowed me to. #4- I asked to at least see him in the cameras to see how he was doing and to check his surroundings too, they came up with some excuse that the camera wasn't pointing to where he was. Today, March 5th I went to pick him up, he was so scared and sad, not how my boy is. So then one of the ladies tells me that his nose is hurt because he kept pushing the bed that was inside his kennel with his nose. And that she rinsed him because he smelled bad from playing with the other dogs. When she gets him from the back and brings him to me, he was so shaken. He was not happy, he was reeking with the smell of pee and sewer, I couldn't believe it. My kid almost threw up in the car because of the smell. When I left the facility I noticed his lips on the side were bloody red. I went back inside to ask her about it. When I took him and the lady came close he was shaking, I didn't understand why and didn't think much of it at the moment. So, the lady says the hadn't noticed that before, that it looked like he was biting the side of his lips. My dog has never done that before, and both side were bloody red, they were black before. Besides the physical damage, his personality was so different, he was so scared of everything, extra calm, not his regular state!! What happened to him in there ??!!! Was he mistreated ??? Tomorrow I am going to the vet for a checkup on my dog by a professional. This is not normal. I can't stop crying, I should've had read the signs better before I decided to drop him there. I definitely do NOT recommend this place. read more

I can't even express how amazing Bentley's is. My small dog Toby has never been a fan of being boarded. He was always so scared and shy. I recently moved to the area and found Bentley's and thought it would be a good fit considering I travel a lot for work. Let me tell you how amazing this place is. When I pick up Toby he walks out the door with a smile on his not knowing I'm there to take him home. He loves Beth and runs up to her to say goodbye. Our dog was bleeding, soaking wet and shivering when we picked him up. We were told "we tried to dry him for an hour" which felt dishonest. We dropped our pup off with 5 days of food, and picked him up with 4 and 1/2. It felt irresponsible to let our guy go so long without eating or escalating an issue. Also he was in such bad shape we took him to the vet which was an additional $200 after the fact. It took a week for him to recover. I think there are clearly some dogs that this places cares about and some it does not. Unfortunately our dog was as not cared for. Very disappointed. AVOID. Or roll the dice. read more

I boarded my dog here a couple times & each time, I have the same complaint. Now that I see similar reviews, it's nice to know I'm not the only one. Each time I picked up my dog, there was a pungent odor on him like urine that sat. I waited during pick up because he was "given a bath" each time, but would come out the door wet. I wish customers were able to see exactly where our dogs would be staying. I don't believe I'll be boarding here again given my experiences and recent reviews. read more

I'm a pretty good judge of knowing my audience (character). I have attempted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. Compassion is not on the top of the list. I left in tears and realize this was my second attempt; some places are just not a good fit. This would be one. I was turned away after I explained my dog had an intake on 3/7 at a location that emailed me on 3/13 of kennel cough. My dog was never in contact or in the their holding facility with other dogs. I was told that I had to wait until next week to try and bring her back. Note: she has no signs of kennel cough at all. She goes on walks regularly where there is always potential of kennel cough. I started to cry and the cold apology was less than empathetic. As an honest person this is why I rated my experience as so. Update: my point exactly. You did not see me cry, and I never said you did. I NEVER said my dog was "exposed" you yourself said she was exposed even though she was there for a 1/2 hour meet/greet with staff and NEVER had interaction with other dogs. You told me she would still not be able to come until next week , and that their location probably had kennel cough probably 3 weeks prior. I don't dispute you being a business woman (clearly) I mentioned the lack of empathy and compassion. This is a platform for reviews; Unfortunately you cannot take away the way someone feels or attack their feedback. I'm simply saying this is not a good fit for us. read more

Our small dog, 7 lbs stayed at Bentley's on two occasions. We had no issues after her first short stay, and she had been bathed right before we picked her up. The second stay was another story. We picked her up and she was covered in feces and her butt was so caked with dried feces that she couldn't go to the bathroom. I called as soon as I got home to find out what had happened to her and was told they hadn't noticed any problem with her and that if she had diarrhea they would have giving her some pumpkin chews cleaned her and contacted me. I explained her condition and that she still had diarrhea and asked if she had eaten other dogs food possibly, and they said no. No one ever called me back to ask how my dog was or provide any information as to why she was covered in cacked diarrhea that I had to cut off of her. I will never take my dog there again. read more

I can't even believe what my dog went trough while being in their care. My dog is very vocal and I believe it is because they don't give attention to their dogs. She had stayed several times and only the last time I learn that my dog is barking all the time. and the tenets around them the barking was too much seriously? We just got home from boarding our little dog at Bentley's for the day and could not be happier! We adopted a dog six months ago, whose prior history we do not know. Due to an urgent trip, we needed him taken care of for a few hours, and this is the first time we decided to take him to the facility where he could spend the day. Upon arrival early morning, I witnessed such a kind and caring intake of two other dogs whose owner was leaving for a few days. The staff made sure to ask so many questions to ensure the dogs would be properly taken care of. The owner left happy and with ease. Understanding that this was our first time, everyone there was so helpful and reassuring and kind and understanding our particular needs. In the middle of the day, after I had called to make sure my dog was doing OK, they immediately called back to let me know he was doing just fine and that there was no reason for worry. At pick up, my dog was happy and calm. This boy gets groomed every few weeks at the same facility, and never comes out as calm and confident as he did today after several hours away from us at Bentley's for the first time. The pick up went smoothly, the staff shared about his day and about their facility in general. I learned just how busy they are, and well respected in our community. We truly were very lucky to be able to get in on such a short notice and get as much attention as we did. It felt very personal, as if my doggie was the only one there! I'm so excited we got to find this place, and will definitely be back. I would recommend to anyone looking to board their dog in a clean, respectful, super caring environment. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would because Bentley's Ruff House was an amazing experience for my chihuahua, Bella. The facility is clean. I love how you can see the dogs through a big window and also on video camera on a big screen TV in the lobby. My dog who's usually anti-social actually made friends. Mariah welcomed us and Bella took to her right away. I'm grateful Mariah sent me a pic and email on how Bella was doing. My flight was delayed when I was supposed to pick up my pup and Beth, the owner, met me after hours to pick her up. That is above and beyond customer service. I found Bentley's Ruff house and called to ask questions ahead of time, the girls are VERY sweet and suggested leaving our dogs for a "trial run" during the day to see how they react. So we did and everything went great! We recently had to leave town for a wedding and booked our two mini aussies for 3 nights and a day. They had a GREAT time! We have used Bentleys for a few years now and we couldn't be happier with the service we receive. We have two golden retrievers who love going there. They were a little hesitant on their first visit but my guess is that they thought they were going to the vet. Our dogs are always well cared for and clean and bathed when picking them up. I have seen some bad reviews here, but after getting to know the owners over the last few years, I am highly skeptical of any bad review I see. The owners are kind, compassionate, and professional; they are exactly the type of small business owners that I feel good about giving my money to. My dogs love going there and I love the peace of mind I get when I need to go out of town that my doggie's will be well cared for in a climate controlled environment. DO NOT take your dog here! We brought our perfectly healthy 7 year old dog here and two days after we arrived in Hawaii, we received a call from them saying there was a situation. I asked them what was wrong and they said, "Your dog is dead." The shock and grief that my family felt will never ever be forgotten by any of us. We are still so heartbroken. Their behavior over the next several weeks made us very suspicious and soon we realized that they were covering something up. They gave us so many contradictory statements. I asked to see the video footage of my dog leading up to his death and they told me they don't save the video, which I thought was very odd. About five days later, my husband stopped by there and they were installing cameras. When we first took our dog there, they told us they had cameras because they house government dogs. A few weeks later I spoke to them and they said they do not have cameras inside. They also lied and told us that they offered to pay for the autopsy, but the Vet said that the owners had to. We spoke to the Vet and they said that Bentley's never offered to pay for the autopsy. I have pages of text messages from them and we caught them in so many lies. We received condolence cards from the Vet, the crematorium and several from our pet insurance, but not one acknowledgment from Bentley's. They completely washed their hands of this and hoped we'd go away quietly. I finally went online and sought out every review possible and I was horrified by the things I read about this place. I wish I had checked every site before leaving my dog there. The owner says horrible things to anyone that writes a review. They do their best to hide these reviews, but they are still out there and sadly, they are still in business. We are still pursuing our case and my hope is that nobody else loses a beloved family member at this horrible place. I am still haunted by the thought of my dog dying there in that horrible place. Please do yourselves a favor and find a other place to take your dog. They are only getting a star because it wouldn't let me post my review unless I gave them one. How dare you! You have been caught in several lies! The Vet stated that you DID not offer to pay for the autopsy! That was my point! If you have cameras, then why couldn't we see the video leading up to the moment our dog died??????? You or your daughter, stated that you don't save the video. You had a dog die on your watch, so my question to you is, why wouldn't you save the video? You spoke to my husband 10 days after our dog died and we literally had less than 48 hours to cremate our dog or he would be cremated and his ashes spread in some creek. We have never had to deal with a dog dying suddenly and unexpectedly and we were in Hawaii, feeling absolutely helpless and stunned! Don't you dare put this on us. We trusted you with our treasured family member and he died on your watch. Nothing that came from you or your staff, added up! I have all of the correspondence between us and your business. You flat out lied to us! Your daughter told us you did not have cameras! I would be happy to post the string of texts and the lies that were told to us. We have a german shepherd/husky mix (Zoey) who was getting into all kinds of trouble at home while we were at work. We tried an outdoor doggie day care and she failed right away (she jumped the fence). Then we found Bentley's... Beth & team are absolutely amazing! Our pup goes two days a week to play with her buddies. She's so excited on day care mornings that she practically herds me out the door. She loves playing with the other puppies, and "talks" to me the whole drive over to Bentley's (if you have a husky you know what I mean!) They do an absolutely magnificent job of keeping a good balance of pups/owners, and making sure there are no aggressive dogs present. I really appreciate how hard they work to keep our beloved pets safe. We have also boarded our dog with Bentley's twice now, and both times we had an amazing experience. Not only did they take great care of Zoey and send us updates and pics, but they gave us some great recommendations for restaurants to try on our vacation! Finally, we, were struggling with Zoey escaping our backyard (she can jump an 8 foot fence no problem) and they brainstormed and introduced us to the idea of a "coyote bar" system on top of the fence. And guess what? It totally worked! She hasn't escaped since we installed it! On top of all that, Zoey no longer gets into trouble when we are at work, and I get the joy of seeing these lovely ladies every few days! They always greet us with a smile, and I can tell they know and care for our family. My husband and I are always saying how grateful we are that we found Bentley's Ruff House... they've really helped our family. read more

He's a mid sized dog so they let him hang out with them during the day. While he is happy to see us, he is never in a rush to leave. Communication with Bentley's is great. I spend most my day on conference calls, and appreciate being able to book sessions online and correspond via email to update records and special needs. The first time I met Beth was before she opened Bentleys. We had a long chat about dogs, and dog behavior. I had a new puppy and she gave me some amazing advice on training and dog behavior. When Bentleys was opened, I referred many friends and family to them. I have NEVER heard anything but rave reviews. Most recently, a family friend had an incident where their dog was injured (on accident). The owner was unable to change a trip, and Beth was amazingly accommodation. She gave some (again...)amazing advice for ways to help the injured dog, referred the family to an acupuncturist, and was able to make accomodations so that the dog had care while this woman was out of town. As a pet owner, there is no better feeling then knowing that your babies are SAFE. I have always, and will continue to refer Bentleys Ruff House to my friends and family. read more

We love Bentley's Ruff House! Beth, the owner, has been so accommodating and helpful. We have been taking our two dogs here for a few years. They walk right in and enjoy their time with the other pups. We know they are being well cared for and loved on. Sometimes they even come home bathed and fluffier than we brought them! We are excited to see there will be a second location because the word is out, everyone loves this place, and sometimes we worry we may not be able to get a spot. Had the best experience with Bentley's Ruff House. We decided to go away last minute and were able to drop off our pup. We were greeted by the owners, who made us feel comfortable in dropping off our puppy. They checked us in, gave us a phone number to text if we wanted updates and told us if we followed the FB page we could see photos that would be updated. The next day we picked up our girl and she was bathed and happy. She must have had a blast because she slept several hours once home. We will definitely be back soon! read more

He also seemed traumatized and had a look in his eyes like, "get me out of here...you have no idea what they did to me at this place." It's criminal to neglect a dog the way they did with ours. I've brought my dog Mana here a few times, and she always seems happy to walk through the door! I've had boarding experiences at other places where my dog is nervous even seeing the front door so I take this as good sign that they are doing something right! It's nice to know I can leave town and have people I trust watch my dog. This place is very affordable and the women who work there are amazing. Only downsides are they have unusual hours and you can't watch your pup play, which really isn't too big of a concern.
