    Ribeye

My husband and I went here for dinner on a Friday evening, and our service was the best part. The ambiance is nice, and the food was good. My husband really enjoyed his ribeye, and the sole fish was VERY good. My husband said he also really enjoyed his lobster bisque. I wasn't able to eat the crab cake but I am also pregnant so that could have been my hormones at the time. We had another engagement so we weren't able to stay for dessert but otherwise we would have. Overall we had a nice time and would return (probably when I'm not pregnant), for a nice night out.

We were there to celebrate our anniversary! The food was fabulous. We really enjoyed our evening! Only question was we were charged for the sides that seemed on the menu to be included in the price by description.

My husband and I recently returned here to celebrate our 8 year wedding anniversary. This was our second time back in 8 years. We had our rehearsal dinner here when the restaurant was still on the 27th floor of a building in uptown. I thought the food was good but not as enjoyable as I remembered; however, I do highly recommend the oysters bentley (creamed spinach, parmesean and panko) as an app. The oysters are delicious and honestly the most flavorful thing we ate. 5 stars on those for sure. I also ordered a caesar salad and my husband had lobster bisque. I'd rate both of these a 3 out of 5. For my entree, I ordered the 8 oz filet which came with fingerling potatoes, wild mushrooms and artichokes. The filet was cooked to the right temperature but I felt it was a little lacking in flavor, and while the mushrooms were decent, I just wish there was more variety in the side dishes and accompaniment options. My husband had the lamb chops and said they were good but he wasn't raving about them. The mushroom risotto that came with it was flavorful, and I enjoyed a few bites of it. We ordered one of their cheaper bottles of wine which was still $60. Be prepared to spend a pretty penny. We considered taking our own but they have a $50 corking fee so... eek. We didn't order dessert but they did bring us a complimentary eclair for our anniversary that was okay at best. I won't complain much about that since it was complimentary after all, and who am I to turn down a free dessert? The service was okay but I didn't necessarily feel like a valued guest. Our server kept our wine glasses filled up so points for that, I guess. We noticed the owner making rounds and chatting it up with what appeared to be a few "regulars" or people who "looked like him." I kept wondering if he might ever stop by our table. He walked by and acknowledged us with a bit of a head nod but I didn't really feel like he cared. I miss the old Bentleys when it was uptown with it's breathtaking views of the city. The food and service seemed better then too. This place will always hold a special place in our hearts since it's where we had our rehearsal dinner but I feel there are other "fancy" restaurants in Charlotte at similar price points that have more flavorful options and better service.

Our first visit to Bentley's. We went for NYE, normally not a fan menu of prefixed menus. But Bentleys was definitely an exception. Wonderful meal, great ambiance. A nice size restaurant, you never feel crowded. We can not wait to go back. Two minor items; 1) never received our bread, 2) they didn't clean the tables after people left ( I understand if you don't need the table but having a couple of dirty tables around you has an impact on the ambiance. Bread we didn't miss but the tables at a restaurant of this caliber should always be clean. Hopefully we will score a 5 next time!

Amazing ambiance, calming atmosphere. All the servers were well versed in the menu and took extreme care of us. Went to a group dinner here. Parking is very convenient. Food was top-notch, especially the dessert.

Great location with good ambiance. The service could be better but nothing to complain about. Food were okay, we had the french onion soup, lobster bisque, lamb chops and the chateaubriand bouquetiere which were great. The only down side is the oysters were not properly cleaned and tasted not too fresh.

The food was excellent and the service was excellent. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Definitely worthwhile experience all around and will be back the next time I am in Charlotte!

So so good! The bread, the fries, the creamed spinach were all amazing! The steak was just ok but I heard the lamb chops are amazing. Was slightly disappointed in the drinks though. The service is spectacular and the decor is so lovely. Will be back when I'm in Charlotte!

This place has been on my bucket list for awhile, so I finally made Open Table RSVP...and slid right into a comfy seating/table around 6 pm. As expected, the place itself was nice...though a tad too classic and conservative in style. Must add that I wasn't too impressed with their overhead music. Just all over the place...from New Orleans jazz, to standard rock to ?!? Eclectic, I guess...but I would have preferred a more steady stream of music...something more upscaled. ANYWAY, on to the more important part of the review...the FOOD!! I came with high expectations...and I'm happy to say that those expectations were met! For starters, we ordered the Lobster Bisque soup. For the entree, my husband chose Stuffed Shrimp Provencal...and I opted to go with 2 small plates, Maine Crab Cake (with Couscous!) and Calamari Steak. Then, we finished off the meal by sharing a Creme Brulee, probably a dessert that my husband and I both love equally. All I can say is that everything we ordered were all EXCELLENT! Actually, THE only thing that was kind of disappointing was their hard, crusty house bread (though complimentary...so thanks anyway!)...but their butter was AMAZING (Peach flavored?). As for my favorite item of the night, it has to be the Maine Crab Cake. Not only delicious, it was so beautifully presented ...so Check-Plus for that! It was such a photogenic plate, I Instagrammed it right away as well lol. As for drinks, I forgot what my husband ordered, but I got their Blueberry Smash cocktail...and it was really good, though not too strong. Service was also good...no issues there. I was impressed to see that all staff members were still wearing masks. Not sure why, but I expected a more formal restaurant, with hyper-attentive service...but everything felt fairly casual. Honestly, I can't decide if I liked the foods better here or at Steak 48, but both my husband and I thought they were comparable...equally Excellent! In any case, so glad I finally checked out this place.

Great service. The team work between waiters was great. Food was very yummy. Restaurant is not busy at all. Beautiful area of Charlotte. We walked around after. Was disappointed I didn't get a birthday cake when we marked birthday to make reservation oh well.

This restaurant was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is beautiful. The food was excellent and the service we received from our waiter Taylor was exceptional. My favorite dish was the caviar sampler absolutely worth every dime! The escargot was delicious.

Vacation attire acceptable nice shorts blouse polo shirt and not jeans or tees?

Can my son have his 16th birthday dinner here with his friends?

You could. But I think you should also look into Fahrenheit, his age group love that place due to outside and city view especially if he's into SnapChat, IG or FB. My daughter and her friends LOVED IT!!

Are there many options for gluten free seafood options?

Yes! We can accommodate accordingly. It is mostly the sauces that are not gluten friendly, but if taken off the entree most of our dishes are.

What is the best romantic restaurant in Charlotte North Carolina for a 10-year anniversary?

I highly recommend Bentley's on 27 for milestones such as a 10-year anniversary! The ambiance, food, and service all together make the experience romantic and memorable. The view alone is breathtaking!

I had high hopes for this restaurant when I made a reservation for Valentine's Day, but…read moreunfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations. While I take full responsibility for arriving 15 minutes late, I was shocked at how rudely the hostess--who we later learned was the manager--handled the situation. Rather than a simple acknowledgment of the delay, or improbability of getting a table, she made a point to shame us, emphasizing that accommodating us would be an extra burden for her. This set an uncomfortable tone from the start. When she begrudgingly seated us at a table that had somehow magically become available, she made another unnecessary comment, implying that I should do my part to not make her job so difficult again. My partner was immediately put off and suggested we leave, but I decided to give the restaurant another chance, assuming the manager might just be having a rough night. Unfortunately, things did not improve. The food, best described as uninspired frozen bar fare from the main Duckworth's kitchen, took over 30 minutes to arrive--and even then, it was served before our drinks. When the drinks finally did arrive, they were nothing exceptional. I ordered a French 75, and my partner had a Paloma, only to realize that even the drinks had come from downstairs at Duckworth's. Given the restaurant's supposed reputation, I was surprised that it didn't have its own bar, unlike how things are set up at The Cellar. The only redeeming aspect of our visit was our waitress, who was pleasant and professional. However, what puzzled us the most was that despite the manager's initial reluctance to seat us, nearly half of the restaurant remained empty throughout the evening. With at least three or four servers working in a relatively small space, it was clear that staffing wasn't the issue--so why the hostility? It was hard not to wonder if other potential diners had been similarly turned off by the manager's deplorable attitude and the underwhelming menu. Overall, the experience left a bad taste in our mouths--both literally and figuratively. Between the lackluster food and drinks, and the uncalled-for attitude from management (she is bald and was wearing a dress on the evening of 2/14/25 at 9:30PM-11PM), I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.

Drinks: 4.8/5 - Same mixologist as the Cellar At Duckworths so i knew these dunes were going to be fire and i was correct. We got the paloma which was yummy with fresh grapefruit juice. I think i got the dirty collins which was a lighter drink but not overly sweet so it was perfecttt!! I was eyeing the pisco sour too but will have to try that next time. Service: 4.8/5 - Since it was their soft opening I either expected mediocre service or top of the line. Thankfully I received the latter! Saturn was a wonderful server who provided great recommendations for drinks and kept checking in on us. She was super sweet and hospitable! Vibes: 4.8/5 - definitely get a seat in the bar area if you can. It feels more intimate and cooler..! we were seated in the dining room which was still nice and more quiet but i think it would have been more fun for us personally to be closer to the bar to watch them make drinks and overlook the road by the windows. There's a real sense of history here. From what I understand, Reid's is one of the oldest grocers in Charlotte, and that legacy shows in the details. The rich green tile, classic signage, and thoughtfully designed layout create an elevated, almost European-style market experience. It feels polished, intentional, and welcoming all at once. What stands out: * The store is beautifully merchandised and carefully curated with specialty and seasonal items you don't always find elsewhere. * The wine bar and café concept make this more than a grocery stop--it's a place to linger. I've enjoyed flights, tastings, and brunch on the patio, and each visit has felt like a small occasion. * Location-wise, it really depends on which store you're visiting. The SouthPark and Myers Park locations have easy, convenient parking, and there's also a newer location in Ballantyne (near Pineville). The Uptown locations, while not necessarily "easy parking," are incredibly walkable--perfect if you live, work, or have meetings nearby. If you're already Uptown, this is a fantastic stop to pick up elevated items for a beautiful dinner--think wine, specialty cheeses, or even something indulgent like caviar to round things out. One thing I appreciate is that Reid's doesn't try to be everything to everyone. It's not an organic-focused market like Whole Foods, and that's okay--it serves a different purpose. The clientele here tends to be people looking for specialty ingredients, elevated prepared foods, and a more curated shopping experience. Many shoppers probably visit both stores depending on their needs, and I find myself doing the same. When Reid's really shines: During the holidays and special seasons. Their selection of unique, festive, and hard-to-find items makes it a go-to for entertaining or finding something a little extra special. Overall, Reid's feels like a true Charlotte institution--elegant, distinctive, and consistently well executed. It's the kind of place that makes grocery shopping feel enjoyable again, and I'm looking forward to continuing to explore more of what they offer as I keep eating my way through Charlotte. Bottom line: A beautifully curated local market with history, charm, and a destination-worthy wine bar--perfect for specialty shopping, brunch, and seasonal finds.

There's outdoor seating, and initially we wanted to sit outside but we didn't have reservations. Luckily, they seated us at a small corner section near the back of the bar. It's very cozy and intimate inside. Just my type of vibe. The service was top tier. They were unable to validate our parking because of some sort of discrepancy with the signage outside and lack of having the proper equipment for validation. To make up for it, they offered us complimentary champagne to start. We were not expecting that, and pleasantly surprised! Their menu has an eclectic selection of cocktails, both full and mini. We opted to order from the mini cocktail menu, and we each ordered two drinks. I had the Creepy cucumber cocktail and it was refreshingly sweet and probably my favorite drink of the night. I also ordered the Don't Shy Away which was a sour and spicy rum concoction with carrot in it. It was definitely spicy and had a puréed texture. I really enjoyed it. And, then don't get me started on the music!!! The dj was masterful. He played all the types of music I love and he mixed them in such a refreshing way. I ended up asking him for his contact information before leaving, and whether he does weddings because my fiancé and I are currently looking for a DJ. He was just that good. This would definitely be my spot if I lived here in Charlotte. It was the perfect way for us to end the night.

Ugh, I so wanted to LOVE this place! It's in my friend's neighborhood and near some other spots we…read morelove. But it just hit me as average. It's a small intimate setting and I do love the dark aesthetic they did. Gives it a swanky vibe and makes a great date spot. But they were burning incense in the tiny space and it was overwhelming. The other bar guests sitting next to us agreed. *They did finally pick up on it and the staff moved it toward the kitchen door* Staff was friendly as well, though, it was busy and looked as if they had a trainee in tow, so attention was lacking just a bit. So why we came: The drinks were average to me. One was weird (Pineapple Fried Rice) and I just couldn't get it sit well on my palate - and I tried - sip after sip. But the mixologist saw my struggle and swapped it out for a different one. I did like the Don't Shy Away - it was an interesting take on a margarita with a strong carrot base. The Whispering Dove was a take on a Paloma and I couldn't find the lemongrass infusion on my palate. So I found it pretty basic, but pricey. So overall, decent. And I might stop buy if I was stuck in the area again.
