I live about a block away from Bentley's and have shopped there many times. The staff has always been amazing, they dote on all the pups that visit the store. My Roxy definitely remembers this if we walk by and don't stop in. They offer very helpful advice regarding food, supplements, treats, etc, and competitive pricing for a store that is not a big box store (like PetSmart). My favorite shopping experience was when they were holding an adoption event for crazy adorable rescue puppies and they were being microchipped - it was something I have never seen in person; even though the pups yelped, they immediately got treats and lots of attention from those in the store (this was pre-covid). We recently moved a couple blocks away and Bentley's is definitely one of our favorite neighborhood spots! The staff is friendly, helpful and offers recommendations. Our pup loves going in and saying hi to the staff. The only "con" is that due to their size, they don't have every single pet item in their inventory (not really a negative, just an FYI) but they still have a wonderful selection to choose from. They offer good incentives when buying dog food - which we definitely want to look into. It's the perfect neighborhood pet store. We love shopping here over a big chain. read more

The staff is always super friendly and give great recommendations; they haven't steered me wrong yet. Great small shop that holds a lot of events! My pup always get a free snack or two while visiting. The workers are nice and helpful. Sometimes the events are confusing, like the free samples, as no one greets you to chat about them. And there's no garbage can outside. But overall, great! read more

This particular location will treat u like a 2nd class citizen if you don't have the "typical Shorewood appearance". At first I thought I was being paranoid but I've had it happen multiple times now where I'll get attitude from a cashier and next thing a some old dude in Mercedes walks in and the employees are jumping up with smiles on their face to go help them. It's unprofessional and I would urge anyone who values equal treatment to spend their money else where. Maybe it's the individual employees fault and not the owners but I won't be coming back either way and its their responsibility to keep their people in check. read more

They carry Fresh Is Best pet foods (Milwaukee's own!) and even eminently affordable Nature's Menu brand (another Wisco line of no-filler goodness for your pooch or kitty). Always A1 retail staff here, love the store overall but TERRIBLE and irresponsible service from Garrett Gutenberger, groomer at the Shorewood location. I had a 10:30am scheduled for my puppy's first grooming- very excited for it. Down a car thats in the shop, the pup and I run in the rain to get there(our problem). We arrive 5 minutes before hand and wait a bit, a couple mins go by and a nice retail worker calls to find out where he is, it turns out he's running a bit late. 20 mins go by and I get a text stating he's running late and he'll be there in 10. So you could have let me know 30 minutes ago?? Nice lol. I don't answer since I will see him soon. He then texts me saying he misread the schedule, thought the appt was for 11. Hmmmmm. Weren't you "running late?" Guilty lie lmao. He then calls saying he's on his way and leaves it up to me to ask if he'll get a full groom or a puppy trim. Says he'll only be able to do the puppy trim today but will ALSO get us in for a full groom next week. "Why both?" I ask. "Exactly!" He states. But didn't you just suggest we do both? I will give him a break cause ole boy was probably flustered. We schedule for next week without offer of discount, but does provide me 30% off upon request. Thanks, generous! I take off after 45 mins of being at the store. Irritated on my walk home, I am thinking the situation through and how careless he was about the situation. I text him and cancel the appt and he responds back the very same minute with a confirmation of the cancellation. Doesn't call, doesn't text to find out why or when we can get something else booked. No "what can I do to make this right?" text. Guy just doesn't care and I'm glad we know that now. I have been late a million times in my life at someones else's expense so I do understand, but its the lying, misleading, covering my ass actions that are entirely unnecessary. Came in on a weekend and they were celebrating one of their pug's birthdays with "doggie bags" of treats!!! Great people, great dogs, and awesome selections. read more

Check your receipts carefully. They have repeatedly overcharged me. For Example I purchase a 3 inch bully stick they charge me for a six inch bully stick. Multiple times this has happened. The difference adds up fast as I have multiple dogs. I will not return anymore, I've given them several chances. How much money are they fleecing from us? read more

My kitten has a food allergy to chicken. The young lady at the store assisted me. She showed me several high protein foods... you might be surprised how many cat foods contain chicken broth or products. I will be come to this pet store again. read more

We stopped in here by chance and had the good fortune to meet a woman who was so helpful and knowledgeable! (I feel bad I did not get her name!). We literally just left the store and I felt compelled to write a review. I love that the products are all natural, and not insanely priced. I ended up here after a mission to find doggie booties for my dachshund right after it got cold and they were flying off the shelves. I called here and they told me what they had left in different sizes and held a size for me behind the counter. I had just left the larger Pet Supplies Plus where they were not very helpful or friendly! As a cat and dog owner I love this store. Carries quality food and treats at competitive prices and some items are cheaper than the big chain pet stores. Always friendly. There are some treats that I buy here that I cannot find at the big chains, only online. I am happy to support local. Hope only positive changes with the recent merger. read more
