A lot of companies charge around $600+ then they throw a $125 fuel charge on it as well. This was the average cost for a full day rental when I was looking. Then I came upon H2O Sports Rentals. I called the number listed and the owner, Nick, answered and was nothing less than professional and knowledgeable. For a full day rental, fuel included, was $400!! He explained everything and in order to book the rental, I had to place a deposit. There was 4 adults and 5 kids total. We rented the pontoon for the full day. Nick met us at the dock on time and went over the boat with me. The trip was amazing and the boat ran great! It's perfect for a large family wanting to relax on the water for a day. When we came back to the dock at the end of our rental, Nick again was there on time and helped us load it up. Without a doubt, I will be using this company again. Thanks for the amazing trip Nick!

Half of the money was due to book and the remaining amount due the day of. I appreciated that the company stayed in great communication with us before, during and after our trip. When we arrived we were greeted kindly by Nils. He asked us to off load our gear and we parked our vehicle across the street. He had a trolley that we packed full of coolers and beach bags to tote down to the dock. There were steps with handrail down to the dock to our pontoon. Nils helped get our gear down and his father helped us get our gear up the stairs when we came back. Super helpful! Before I headed down I needed to use the restroom and they had a outdoor outhouse that was more like a luxury toilet. Sink with water, a toilet that flushed built with beautiful cedar and stocked full of feminine products, paper towels, toilet paper, and it was VERY clean. When we boarded the pontoon Nils reviewed the operators instructions in details and the expectations of using the equipment with proper safety. They provided physical laminated sheets that also had a QR code with information on boater safety, and the map of the lake. We were given a full tank of gas. We were told any fuel we used they would replace for a few, they would dispose of the garbage, and our bottles. The boat with outfitted with a trash bin and a bottle bin for access. He asked when we come back to notify him 10 minutes in advance and he meet us at the dock, jumped into the water, came out to our boat and docked it for us. Excellent customer service. 10 out of 10! Highly recommend.

We were told to be at the landing at 10:30 for an 11 o'clock reservation. We were greeted with a man very irritated with us dropping off our coolers and bags. Apparently we were supposed to walk everything down from the parking lot. Not a problem but we were not told and there wasn't a sign. We didn't need to start our day with attitude but no big deal. The boat shows up at 11:10. We now have been waiting for 40 minutes. Kind of irritating but we are looking forward to a good day, so again, we shake it off. We take the boat out and it immediately stalls. We can not go faster than a very slow speed. We tried calling for about a half hour with no answer. We finally get someone and they say the fix to this problem, is to go sit at the sand bar for half an hour. Didn't send anyone out, they just want us to go sit. After sitting for about 1-5 to 2 hours, trying to make the best of the situation, we tried it again and it's still stalling. After calling them back again, they were angry with US. We are now arguing with them by phone and text in the middle of the lake on our fun day out. They have no solution and the only thing they offered was to take $100 off of our rental. We couldn't use the boat or the tubes and paid $600 for the day. The last thing they said, as you can see from the picture of the text, is that we need to still pay for the gas and "congratulations" on making them give us money back. They couldn't have been more petty at this point. We would have been more upset with the absurdity of them asking that, but we didn't use any gas because THE BOAT DIDN'T WORK. They ended up refunding us $225 after all that. We still paid too much but it's not worth the fight. Sometimes things happen that are unfortunate, but to be treated so terribly the entire time was just not right. To get nasty with us and not even come out to see if they could fix the boat, was unprofessional. The text message was rude and uncalled for. I would not recommend this company and certainly would never use them again.

Had 2 SUP full day rentals scheduled for one of our vacation days in the area. At about 10:00 am we got a call asking when we would be there. Our full day was from 9:30am-5:30pm. Since we wouldnt be on the boards all day, we were having a leisurely morning walking our dog and eating breakfast. She informed us that she would charge us 20$ per board for not being there at our pickup time. Nowhere in any communication that she had sent via email or during the order process was this stated. This was the first I heard of it. Upon getting there, I stated I was there for my rental, the woman, the owner stood up to check us in. I asked if she could wave the $40 fee and she laughed at me, saying she is too busy and showing up late messes them up. I was the only person in the store at this point. She also did not further explain what what she meant when she said it "messed them up". She seemed uninterested in explaining the policy and uninterested in my viewpoint. Rental pick up times should be clearly stated on emails if they are so important. And you would think the owner would clearly explain this rather than laugh at us. Again, I literally had no idea. She had already charged the fee prior to us arriving which I thought was weird. The rest of the interaction was very awkward and forced. She went on to make sure we knew if literally any scratches were on the boards we would fit the bill, instilling a level of fear in us that almost ruined the trip alone. To get the boards to lake Michigan they provide hand carts with a wheel to roll. They are very awkward, and she said if they touch the cement at all they would "charge us." Literally everything down at the beach is cement, so were were pretty terrified down at the beach. In addition, you are given a paddle, life jacket and ankle cord. When I asked how to carry the rest of the equipment down she shrugged, and offered no information. At this point I've given this business $130 and she's presented us with the snarkiest demeanor the entire time, and we have no idea why. If she's really that concerned about people not showing up outside the "pickup window " she should clearly put that in the communications with customers. As someone who interacts with customers for a living, I was baffled by the interaction. I gave her an opportunity to make it right, but I have not heard back and she has not removed any fees. When we got back the owner did not interact with us and an employee kindly helped us, missing any opportunity to make it right again. And honestly the fees aren't really the issue, its how we were treated. Had she nicely explained why their policies are in place, rather than laugh and fail to acknowledge our viewpoint, we probably would have been fine. I hate to write a bad review, but I also hate being treated poorly while on vacation.
