Fresh and fabulous! I was in town visiting from out of state and my family and I wanted to support a local small business. We picked the right one. The restaurant was clean and staff were friendly. Seems it's family run and owned. We ordered two turkey special sandwiches and one with roast beef. They were all AWESOME. Everyone loved the food. We were raving about it all day. Thank you yelp for this find! I ordered the turkey supreme, but opted for the marble rye (normally comes on poppyseed bagel) because I knew my guts would thank me later. I don't know what sort of wizardry they use to make the Beno's sauce, but that combined with the tomato relish was the bees knees. It's not a cheap place-my sandwich was $8.42+tax but did include a pickle. However I have the appetite of a 14 year old boy with a tapeworm, and I was satisfied. I will definitely be back to try more sandwiches when I'm in the area again read more

It was my first time here, I wish more people knew about this deli because it is super good! I went with my co-workers and we all got different sandwiches which all looked delicious and healthy. I had the Clint eastwich sandwich which was clean, cut and fresh. The sandwich stayed in place and didn't get too messy. The soups looked amazing and I would recommend anyone go to the place if you're looking for a great sandwich in town. They also have lots of seating for groups and fast-easy service. read more

Best sandwiches and soups in Winona!! I've been enjoying lunch here since Beno's opened at their first Winona location back in the 1980's, and the food remains just as good as it was way back then - creative sandwich "recipes" made with fresh ingredients right in front of your eyes, so you always know what you're getting. I'm not a fan of large rolls for sandwiches, so I always ask the sandwich makers to substitute the delicious marble rye if my sandwich of choice that day happens to call for a roll - and this has never been a problem. The restaurant itself is pleasant and filled with light, with plenty of booths and tables, so getting a place to sit right away is usually never an issue. The Beno's "secret sandwich sauce" is pretty killer, too! Definitely my go-to lunch place whenever we're in town. read more

Had lunch and took a much needed break from exploring downtown Winona. I had the Cheese Done It Again. It is a mix of chesses, sprouts, a great dressing on rye. Enjoyed the bottomless cup of coffee as well. I had a seat by one of many windows. There was a steady lunch crowd and a varied choice of sandwiches and drinks and a few dessert items. Benos deli is the best sub in Winona hands down.Eberts is pretty dang good but nothing beats the benos classic with sprouts. And the benos sauce is so good make sure to buy some on your way out; it's good on your own sandwiches. Also they have bakery goods like cookies fiber 1 bars and chocolate spoon cake. read more

We're new to town and prefer local fare to chain restaurants. Had a tuna salad and a C;int Eastwich today. Two thumbs up! I have trouble finding roast beef (the main ingredient on the Clint) that is really tasty, but the meat here was pretty good. The poppy seed roll was also good. Tuna was on marble rye bread and was not overloaded with nuts, fruit or any other adulterants. Delicious dill pickle included. read more

There's nothing really WRONG with Beno's, but it's nothing special, either. I don't understand all the people in town who rave about it. Its food is overpriced for what it is - a basically uninspired selection of exactly the sort of food we make in our own kitchens every day. Pretty appalling. We came in about 5 minutes before they closed -- door still open -- and both employees did all but roll their eyes at us as they grudgingly asked what we wanted. Sandwiches are dry and WITH NO CONDIMENTS. If you dont want mayo, you dont get anything. Asked for mustard and the reply was "i'll put it in a cup for you." Go to the coffeeshop around the corner for paninis instead. read more

This is my favorite place to grab a sandwich, they gave the sandwiches great fun names that describe the food perfectly! The soup is awesome, I believe they make their soups and it is not soup from a bag like other places. The Wisconsin cheese soup is so good that they went from having it 1 or 2 days a week to having it every day, they would always sell out of this soup before the noon hour was over.
