Every summer growing up I would go to Westbury NY. And every time I would go to a hero shop for sandwiches, which were the best I ever had (up until the day they closed (due to retirement of the owner) they were the best I ever had). I couldn't match it. My husband grew up in La Crosse. So when we met and visited his family he informed me that we HAD to go to Lindy's. My first experience with Lindy's was extremely underwhelming, to which my husband agreed, as it was the height of COVID and we could only take out. Lindy's does not travel well. However, we have visited twice now and we have been back to Lindy's both times. Admittedly, I wasn't looking forward to my second visit, but I was very pleasantly surprised at how good these sandwiches are. I mean, it rivals my favorite hero shop in NY! Now I find myself craving Lindy's! Care to open one in Denver? For sure, we will be back. read more

I moved to the area recently and found an excellent sandwich shop. I've been here 3 times and the quality and service have been consistently great. It took me a couple of visits to get the ordering procedure down (I'm a little thick) but now I'm an old hand. First the guy (always the same guy) who greets you (always!) and takes your order is so friendly, warm and just an all around joyful being. Second the sandwich comes fast and is presented like it's an image of the perfect sandwich (if you googled that). It is a simple sandwich, yet somehow elevated (they have a few bougie and unusual ingredients). The bacon is always crisp and appetizing in appearance. The condiments application is always appropriate. And the bread is always fresh. A really good dining experience is so rare these days,but I usually don't call out the bad ones too often (too much negativity these days). I really enjoy handling attaboys though. I love their food and love their La Crosse location but the customer service at the Onalaska location is lacking. The employees working don't communicate to each other about if they run out of something. The management would rather stand there and argue with a customer than rectify the situation. They ran out of a certain item but neglected to tell me when I placed my pick-up order. When I got there I was told they were actually out and the employee who took my order didn't check to see how much was left. I was very disappointed because my 2 year old has been sick and the only reason we ordered from them that day was for the soup for my daughter. 5 star on food and 1 star on service read more

This place was so good I ordered 2 days in a row from them. I'm in town on business and it's just around the corner from the office. Yesterday I ordered a veggie wrap with chicken added and today I ordered a veggie sub. I love that you can order what they have on their menu but also be able to build your own which is what I did both days. They offer free delivery subject to minimum $ ordered and the delivery was fast. Their wrap and sub was very fresh, loved their selection of veggies and the cubed chicken was very good! I love Lindy's, I grew up not far from them and we used to stop in almost daily on our way to work after school. I love that I get a fresh sandwich made my way every time. I make sure we go back every time I visit. The only thing that stops it from getting that last star is the kids who work there keep caring less and less about customers and more and more about their cell phones. Though I'd likely be like this, if I was their age. I will say that they are like a sub shop of any caliber there is nothing here that stands out so much that you can't get it at all but it's always fresh the bread is really good and it's just a great family shop. Lindy's is probably one of the better local sandwich places in the Coulee region. The service is very friendly, and they have a lot of options for good sandwiches. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. They even have toppings linked up with Weight Watchers points, so if you are on the system, you can easily convert your meal into points. read more

My favorite submarine sandwich is an Italian. That would be an Uncle Lindy at Lindy's. While, it is pretty good here, I prefer Jimmy John's because of the spicier meat available--I think the salami makes the difference. Also, I am not a fan of dressings--it is a texture preference. In lieu of ruining a good sandwich by making it soggy with dressing, I prefer a small sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. However, this is an extra charge at Lindy's because it is a "layer" even though I want a tiny bit. I have only been successful at trading the dressing for the dusting of Parmesan once. I stopped by their brand new location in Center 90~ it looks beautiful and is very clean! Although there were a couple cash register complications, which the staff "made right", the food was delicious and the service was delightful! Food is good, website is not. Their online ordering is not a good experience - it feels like ordering from Amazon, not ordering food, and allows you to order even if they are no longer willing to deliver. Sometimes it's better to just not offer a feature than to put it in place poorly. read more
