Auerbach & Gussin Insurance and Financial Services

Auerbach & Gussin Insurance and Financial Services

In November, I recently became a client of Auerbach and Gussin agency, and have only great things…read moreto say! After working with another agency, and not getting consistent responses by email over the years, I became frustrated and needed another agency. I can thank Diane Waggoner for the referral - she is a Medicare specialist with Relion Insure and we needed a regular agency. When I called the agency, they put me in touch with one of their agents named Lena Yamaguchi. Lena helped my husband and me with options for our 2020 health plan, and that was pretty straightforward. Our self-employed 24-year old daughter was on her own plan, and it was a bit more complicated. She missed the deadline of updating her Covered California income information, and her file unfortunately and mistakenly was put in the hands of Medi-Cal, which we knew she did not qualify for. We needed advice on how to help her get back into the Covered CA system. Since the time I met Lena by phone, she was outstanding! She answered all of our needs regarding plan options for the parents...and for our daughter's situation; it was a bit more complicated. Our daughter did wind up having to complete a lot of paperwork to the County of San Diego regarding her self-employment income and expenses. It's all settled now, but I can only tell you that Lena was always available for any questions and advice over email or phone. She had a very calm nature, and was very thorough in her explanations. I always told her that I could be flexible around the holidays or any time we both had busy schedules, but she was always quite prompt and organized in her responses. She simply gave us "peace of mind" throughout the entire process. I am happy to recommend this agency and Lena Yamaguchi... to whomever asks me. Bravo on a great job!

Hayek Insurance Agency - The insurance card i receieved for the month "i didnt pay" when our auto pay has worked for 20 years

Hayek Insurance Agency

I'm not new to using insurance agents. I know a lot about insurance. I am so knowledgeable, I know…read morenot to try and navigate those waters on my own. Be it home, auto, earthquake, umbrella coverage, health, I have always preferred using the expertise of an independent (as opposed to captive) insurance agent. I've had my share of agents over years in the different venues I've lived in. Most of them have been fine. While shopping for health coverage for my recent college graduate kid and my not yet Medicare covered wife was not so easy, not a lot of agents want to handle individual health coverage. I happened into the Hayek Insurance Agency and all I can say is wow! Dealing with Roger Hayek was nothing short of outstanding. We were about to choose a plan on the Covered CA website, which as it turns out would have resulted in higher out of pocket expenses for us. Mr. Hayek took his time, did his research, ran the numbers, called back when he said he would, and had the exact information we needed tailored to our specific situation with an eye toward future possibilities. He was also able to explain in detail, without getting into the weeds, the reasons behind his approach. He saved us money on our Covered California policy in the long run, and provided us some great financial information on HSAs as well As long as Mr. Hayek is in the insurance business, we shall be his client for any and all of our insurance needs.

They do not have access to any information from insurance we have been with them 20 years and because my salary changed so did my assisted coverage from the gov't. They blamed covered cal than i had a 3 way phone call and they blamed my actions with medi-cal(which i did what they asked) I have been paying for private insurance with 0 federal assistance which increased its rate by 300% almost 700 a month at 30 years old for 4 months(technically 3 because somehow magically i got my insurance card(again pictured below with email proof from hayek themselves but not the actual insurance.) As stated we have been on auto pay for 20 years and because of their negligence they messaged me 17 days into january to make the payment(even tho the policy was already cancelled and i was told by her higher up that she shouldve handled the occurence with blue shield instead of emailing me) i lost my policy number with my free 999 refills costing me over $299,700 based on my new co payment in the picture(s) below. This should be a crime and they should be fined/pay a restitution or closed for negligence.

I very rarely write negative reviews - I much prefer to sing the praises of individuals and/or…read morecompanies that have provided good service. And it should be noted that this review probably has more to do with State Farm itself than it does the Kollar agency. Having said that, however, I'm very happy that I have now cancelled my insurance and found another very reliable insurance company, with a very considerable savings on my annual insurance cost in the process. Background: A year ago I wrote a very positive review about my experience with State Farm. I had been in an accident where I was not at fault and I received payment for my car, less the $1,000 deductible, very quickly. I was very impressed with both State Farm and the Kollar agency. However, I had to wait over a year and a half to be refunded my deductible. And not once during that time did the agent's office reach out to me - I had to consistently follow up. The accident was in April of 2023; I received the refund of my deductible in September of 2024. That's the first complaint. Next, I have auto payments set up with State Farm through my credit card company, which has always worked smoothly. However, in August of this year, there had been some problems with fraudulent activity on that credit card, and when the payment request for State Farm was received, it was declined. This was on August 21st. On August 23rd, TWO DAYS after the payment was declined, I received a CANCELLATION NOTICE of my insurance from State Farm. As soon as I learned what had happened, I contacted the Agent's office to provide my payment on that same day - the 23rd. Going forward, I continued to use auto payments, but my insurance premium in November increased dramatically and I decided I would finally seek other coverage. I found a company that came very highly recommended and sent a notice to State Farm to cancel my insurance with them. Unfortunately, the auto payment to State Farm for the following month was already in process and I was unable to cancel it. I requested a refund of the amount - which I am still awaiting.....10 days later. Amazing that State Farm can move incredibly quickly when THEY want to cancel something....2 days....but are far slower when refunding monies. Customer Service is not their strong suit.
